Unique place in a town less touristic than its neighbor

October 2021 - The cozy apartment offers all amenities. Taking your meals or just an Aperol spritz on the terrace will make you want to return soon. Only detractor are the racing motorcycles on the street below.

Travel tips

  • We bought groceries before reaching Vietri. Buying groceries locally, especially for a larger group, could be challenging.
  • A bakery is 200 m down the road.

Summer In Italy always responded to me promptly and with accurate information as we were wary on our travels during Covid.

We loved it!

September 2018 - We loved it! Casa Nina was comfortable. The terrace had amazing views. We all enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for greeting us and organizing taxis for us. We enjoyed the apartment immensely.

You did very well and helped us lots. Communication was great and I will recommend Summer In Italy to friends.

Travel tips

  • I can recommend Cetara Punto e Pasta for the best meals in Cetara. Fresh local produce used to create amazing meals.
  • Make sure you visit the bakery early in the morning for their fresh bread.
  • The best views of the Amalfi Coast are from the ferry.
  • Positano is picturesque as you arrive but it is so very busy and overrun with tourists and we noticed the menus there reflect cultures of the tourists rather than of the locals - French fries and burgers etc.
  • We loved Cetara - it seems much more authentic and gives you a real taste of what it is like to be a local.

We had 10 fantastic days and hope we get the chance to return!

August 2018 - We really enjoyed the location and the village of Cetara.

Casa Nina is very comfortable and welcoming. The view from the terrace is absolutely breathtaking and the house is within walking distance to the village and beaches. There is also a parking space for you to use, which is very rare on the Amalfi Coast. We had 10 fantastic days and hope we get the chance to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Nina

July 2018 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Nina. We have three older children and it was perfect for us. The kitchen was well equipped and the living space was of a good size. As for the view, it was simply amazing. What a sight to wake up to every morning. The church bell was a regular sound throughout the day, but we quite liked that. There are quite a few steps from the center of the borough, the apartment is quite high up hence the wonderful view.

The owner met us in the town and drove our cases up to the apartment. He was very friendly and helpful.

Summer In Italy have been extremely helpful. We always felt we could ask them anything. Would have no hesitation in using them again. Thank you Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • There are lots of lovely fruit shops and mini marts in Cetara.
  • We went on a trip to Amalfi (on the ferry) which is much bigger and has a large selection of shops and restaurants. We did all our present buying there as there was much more choice.
  • Cetara was nice to come back to at the end of the day as it is small and quaint. It does get busy in July with day trippers so gets a bit congested with cars coming down the main street.
  • All in all though, we had a lovely holiday.

We loved our week at Casa Nina

June 2017 - We loved our week at Casa Nina. The apartment was very clean and well stocked. The rooms are large. The patios are so lovely, and we loved the outdoor shower. The Wi-Fi worked great. Casa Nina was the highlight of our month in Italy.

The owner was such a nice man and so sweet! Thank you so much for a great week!

We were very happy with Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • The parking spot that is provided is a tight squeeze, only bring a very small car.
  • Use the ferry to go to the other towns of the Amalfi Coast, it's quick and inexpensive.
  • Wear water shoes down to the beach.
  • The town restaurants are open late, but the little grocery stores close by 8 or 9pm.
  • If you are a light sleeper and have the bedroom with a view, bring ear plugs because the coastal road right below can be loud.

Lovely place

December 2016 - Casa Nina is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The open plan living room with kitchen has fantastic views, is colourful and serene at the same time, and offers absolutely everything you need. We stayed there over Christmas and were very lucky with the weather. It was warm and sunny so we could sit on the incredible balcony - the blues and greens of the tiles and chairs matching the colours of the sea and the garden - watching kids playing with their Christmas presents on the piazza below. We felt really happy at Casa Nina and hope to go back next year! Everything was perfect! :)

The charming owner was very accommodating regarding earlier check in. He met us, showed us around the apartment, and made us feel extremely welcome. There was fruit, some veg, coffee, olive oil , spices, and lots of other things provided in the kitchen.

We felt very well looked after, thank you! We feel Summer In Italy provide a wonderful service.

Travel tips

  • Cetara is a great place that still belongs to the Italians. We were a little worried that it might be a bit dead in winter, but all the shops and bars were open, as were the restaurants.
  • We did quite a bit of cooking at the apartment as we enjoyed being there such a lot, but we also had a great meal at "Al Convento".

Thanks a lot to Carmine, the owner. Due to your perfect apartment we spent a really pleasant week in this area. Casa Nina was exactly what we expected... The apartment on the beach I'd like to buy! Perfect.

Loved Casa Nina

April 2016 - Loved Casa Nina - the view from both the terraces were fantastic. Enjoyed looking down at the harbour and the square and watching the local activity. Kitchen very well equipped. Two comfy sofas and great dining table. Very quiet generally - only hearing passing traffic, not voices as no one walks past. Easy parking (for a small car). Would rent again.

Very welcoming owner.

Thought Summer In Italy service was fantastic - wouldn't have found Casa Nina on my own so well recommended!

Travel tips

  • Cetara is very Italian - we heard no English speaking voices in the 5 days we were there.
  • Walk up to the cemetery and then take the path back to the village - feels very rural.
  • Note that the shops are all little local shops - no supermarket. Most don't speak English. We loved that, it was so Italian and not full of tourists.
  • Favourite shop was the local gelato shop!!
  • Also hire the smallest automatic car that you can - makes parking and driving along the Amalfi Coast that much easier.

October 2015 - We love Casa Nina! Have stayed 2 times and will probably be back again.

There is some street noise and you can hear it from the bedroom but that is the only downside. The windows are single glass only.

The owner is very accommodating and pleasant and we love Cetara.

Summer In Italy service is amazing. We will use you again... Melanie and everyone I spoke to were so helpful.

Travel tips

  • Take the bus to all the other small towns is very easy and certainly worthwhile.
  • The bus ride is amazing and each town is great.
  • The Amalfi Coast is so beautiful, it is a very nice area to visit.
  • There are stairs to climb from the beach to Casa Nina but it is not a problem if your health is good.

May 2015 - We absolutely loved Casa Nina.

All of the rooms are large and had been lovingly decorated in a way that made us know we were in a real Italian home. We loved shopping for food in the tiny stores in Cetara and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The views of the beach and sea from Casa Nina are fabulous and we spent many hours sitting on the terrace.

We met the owner of Casa Nina and he could not have been nicer. He really wants his guests to have a wonderful stay.

We loved everything about Casa Nina and the owner!! I would highly recommend Casa Nina.

Summer In Italy was really great and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using them to book a house or apartment in Italy. They did everything they said they would do and more.

Travel tips

  • Cetara is a wonderful town if you want to get away from the tourists on the Amalfi Coast and know the feeling of being in a real Italian fishing village.
  • It is easy to ride the bus to the other towns but we were always so glad to get back to Cetara and Casa Nina.
  • There are several stairs from Casa Nina to the center of Cetara so you need to be able to walk up and down stairs.
  • You do not need a car because it is easy to ride the bus to all of the towns on the Amalfi Coast.

Fantastic

October 2014 - Casa Nina is a beautiful apartment in which to stay, located in the fishing village of Cetara: a little gem and maybe one of the Amalfi Coast's best kept secrets!

The living room is true to the photos. It is comfortable with an excellent and very well equipped kitchen with all utensils you would ever need. We used the bedroom with the sofa bed, which is comfortable enough and certainly provided us with a good night's sleep - we chose it for the lovely view to wake up to. All outdoor areas are superb, especially the garden terrace below, with spacious adjoining shower which has continuous steaming hot water - not always found in your typical holiday accommodation in the region.

Yes, we could hear sounds of the village, which only added to the atmosphere of the place - children playing in the square, church bells ringing. Very little traffic noise from the main road which passes through the town below, however.

We enjoyed our stay so much in Casa Nina and Cetara that we have already made our booking to come back to the place.

We have booked several times through Summer In Italy. Have found it an excellent service and especially like the ease of the direct payment.

Travel tips

  • Excellent bus connections to travel up and down the coast. Bus stop very close to the apartment.
  • Vietri sul Mare (about 15 mins away) is a must with its lovely ceramics that are wonderful just to see. Also, narrow and characteristic streets in the center of Vietri.
  • In Cetara itself, just a shortcut down the steps from Casa Nina to the road below, then more shortcuts through the alley ways (again steps!) and you are quickly on the main shopping, restaurant street (Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi). Very convenient.
  • The best bakery (excellent breads, fresh fruit tart slices...) is on the SS163, on the right side as you walk towards the square - a small shopfront with an insignificant entrance but great produce.
  • We found the quiet beach at sleepy Erchie also worth a visit.

September 2014 - We enjoy our stay in Cetara, having chosen Casa Nina for our vacation was the best!!

We loved the space, the lovely decoration and the flow of the house. We felt there was "life" and great vibe. Beautifully decor, great taste... The view from the balcony is superb!!

The owner was delicate to leave us some of the essentials and basic household stuff. Thanks for making us feel welcome!!

We love Italy, the food, the places, the people. We felt very comfortable with the people in Cetara, the restaurants (specially Al Convento), the markets... We should have stayed 3 weeks, the town offers so many things for any informed tourist!!

We have been renting houses for 3 years now!! Two years in Praiano (1 month) and this year in Cetara... Looking for Vietri sul Mare for 2015.

Travel tips

  • Great place to spend a vacation!!
  • Very close to Salerno... also to the excavations of Oplontis, and Herculaneum.

September 2014 - Casa Nina is a well positioned property located in Cetara, at the South East end of the Amalfi Coast.

It is a very well equipped and maintained 2 bed flat, comfortable & very enjoyable to stay in. It has also a great balcony view of the town of Cetara.

The owner is brilliant, friendly, helpful, easy going & good fun.

We had a great stay here.

Travel tips

  • Shops, restaurants & the beach are all very short walks away from Casa Nina & the town of Cetara is a lovely unspoiled village.
  • We enjoyed hiring a car & driving up & down the coastline but car hire was expensive & the roads take a bit of getting used to.

July 2014 - Bellissimo!!! Casa Nina was very comfortable. We loved our two weeks and hated to leave. We highly recommend it.

The motor-scooters, buses, and traffic, were a bit noisy on the weekends - especially Sundays, but---HEY- that's part of Italy--especially in the summer. At least they were out enjoying life. At night - with the doors closed - it was dead silent.

This was our 13th trip to Italy (obviously we adore the country and the people), but our first experience with Summer In Italy. We were very pleased. Every need was attended. Directions were perfect. All questions answered.

Travel tips

  • Shopping in Vietri sul Mare was fun.
  • A day in Ravello was most delightful. Don't miss the botanical garden there.
  • Several restaurants in Cetara -- all good.
  • The merchants in Cetara are delightful. My Italian improved greatly because they were all willing to help me!
  • We were fortunate to be there for the Lampare festival celebration. That was a unique and most enjoyable event which allowed us to be part of the Cetara community.
  • You have not lived until you have eaten a plate of alici fritte.

April 2014 - Casa Nina is an amazing apartment - views were stunning. Great base to explore the Amalfi Coast. Kitchen well stocked out and a lovely barbecue area.

The owner and his mother were more than accommodating and left drinks and sweets on our arrival which was nice of them. We arranged to go early in the morning (at 7 am) and they were there on time. It was a unique experience and we will definitely return to Italy.

Travel tips

  • Shops seem to shut mid day and don't open - we were slightly out of season so opening times for restaurants was a bit hit and miss. Best to get a big shop in Salerno.
  • We hired a convertible car which was great - but you need nerves of steel to drive on the winding roads.
  • The Excavations of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius are must's. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately, Casa Nina can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
