Very close to Gravedona and Dongo is this ancient fishermen village, fonde on a plain that has kept intact all its charm throughout the years. Domaso offers large view of the whole basin and a picturesque glimpse of Bellagio and the branches that separated from each other.

It is considered one of the most welcoming and furnished hamlets around. Thanks to the so-called breeze “Breva”, that blows persistently in summer, Domaso had become a landmark for all sailing lovers.

The old town centre shows the lovely Church of St Bartolomeo, datable to the 13th century. Sixteenth-century frescoes, seventeenth-century stuccoes and sumptuous baroque furnishings, as well as a 16th-century procession crucifix (incised by Lierni di Como), and the altar-piece representing “Madonna with Infant Jesus and St Peter” attributed to Morazzone, are waiting for you to be admired.

A must see in Domaso is Villa Camilla, a building dated back to the beginning of the 17th century, findable along the promenade. The original body of the edifice is neoclassic and it is one of the best examples of patrician villas facing Lake Como. The property is surrounded by a 8000 square meters large garden: this green area shows artificial grottoes of 19th-century tuff, a huge range of plants and flowers like camellias, citrons and conifers.

Just outside Domaso, along the strada Regina, you will find the village of Gera Lario, with the notable Church of St Vincenzo. The holy building shows a floor mosaic dating back to the 2nd century and some 16th-century wall paintings.

Northwards is the last village under the local administration of Como, Sorico. Interesting area, rich in natural attractions and ancient towers, and main access to the excursions in Val Chiavenna.
