We LOVED this place!!! What an absolutely amazing adventure, staying here
October 2023 - We LOVED this place!!! What an absolutely amazing adventure, staying here. From the way your luggage gets up to the house, to the stairs up to the house, to the STUNNING view from the house, the comfort of the house, the incredible design of the house...
We knew it was cool when we booked it, but we didn't realize until we arrived just how incredible it was. It is simple yet fabulous. We walked everywhere in Positano from here, which allows you to eat all you want because you are definitely getting your exercise.
I wouldn't change a thing, it is amazing.
Honestly, I took a chance and it turned out wonderfully. Thank you for all your help and resources you provided to make the trip amazing.
Travel tips
- The steps up to the house are a blast, there are places along the way up to stop, rest and enjoy the view. You definitely need to be comfortable climbing almost 300 steps each way and it is a bit steep in places, there is a hand rail most of the way.
- There is a cute little deli about a 1/2 mile as you walk into town, that offers wonderful meats, cheeses, bread, wine etc. There is another market on the path down to the beach once you are in town that has many more options to take back to your place as well.

Loved every minute of our stay!
September 2022 - We had such an amazing stay at Paolo’s place. The 300 steps up to the apartment are not for the faint hearted but the view on the way up and down is spectacular and the apartment is so beautiful it is well worth the ascent.
We will definitely be back! Loved every minute of our stay!

A hidden gem, for a very authentic experience
September 2022 - We enjoyed our stay at Villino Del Re so much. The view and location and overall comfort and charm made this place such a treasure. The view is outstanding, the villa is super well kept, clean, and with good air conditioning for hot summer days.
The steps are quite a hike up and down from the street, but the experience of staying here makes it so worth it. Having spent 10 days in Positano it was the best decision ever to stay at a place that is a little walk away from the main city center of Positano, which can get very crowded during tourist seasons. We felt like we found such a hidden gem staying at this villa and a very authentic experience.
Our host Paolo was phenomenal and made us feel so taken care of and at home during our stay.
Everything was fantastic. Such a beautiful stay and friendly service. Well done! Will be happy to recommend Villino Del Re to anyone looking to visit Positano. Everything was honestly perfect, easy, and wonderful. The pictures online of the villa, the view, and the general feel perfectly captured how charming and beautiful the location is.
Travel tips
- Wear comfy shoes and pack light.
- Restaurant Casa Mele down the street was an absolutely phenomenal dining experience and the staff are incredibly friendly.
- Definitely recommend a day at Scogliera beach club and a boat tour around the coast if you can.

A unique stay, incredible place!
September 2022 - Seriously — book this place! Such a unique stay and incredible value for Positano. We were a short walk from downtown, but had incredible views, privacy, and quiet. The direct access to the beach is a game-changer, as most beaches in Positano are crowded, loud, and charge to rent chairs. Yes, there are a lot of stairs.
The house was comfortable, had great lighting, high ceilings, and stayed cool. We loved watching the stairs and night and admiring the view from the patio. We went to the beach every day and normally there were only 1-4 other people there on the beach. Incredible place!
The host was very communicative and helpful.

August 2022 - GREAT people! Awesome place to unplug from the tourist scene. Best outdoor shower overlooking Positano.
Don’t be discouraged about the steps. Positano is a town of steps, naturally you walk up and down steps all day. I would 10/10 re-book this place if we were to come back!

Absolutely magnificent, a true gem!
July 2022 - The villa was absolutely magnificent! My wife and I were looking for a peaceful getaway with privacy and solitude, yet be able to go into town and enjoy fine dining. It was perfect.
The villa is beautiful with all the charm of the rustic Italy, but with all the modern conveniences. Yes there are many steps to climb to get to the villa, but is also the charm of Positano!
We used the kitchen appliances as well as the grill to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The wading pool was very refreshing after a day of hiking or coming back from town. A true gem!
We picked the villa due to its peaceful, quiet location. Also the view is magnificent!
Travel tips
- Just be prepared to walk up stairs with two areas that are particularly steep. But what awaits you at the top is worth it.

May 2019 - My wife and I stayed here for a few nights. We were aware of the steps in advance and they were not too difficult. It’s not a luxury home but it’s age, unique character and proximity to Positano were superb.
It is close to the Sponda bus stop too. Small market just up the road. We loved it.
Paolo [the owner] was very helpful and it was what we had expected - a nice departure from the hotel option.
We never made it down to the private beach as we were either in town or the weather was rainy so can’t comment on that part - everything else was wonderful.

The villa was amazing
September 2018 - The villa was amazing. It was very comfortable and relaxing. We loved our time in Positano except we had a couple of days of bad weather. But that can’t be helped. Would definitely recommend to anyone who can handle the stairs.
Summer In Italy was extremely responsive and very informative. We didn’t have any issues while staying at the villa but I’m sure if we had they would have made sure any issues would have been resolved.
Travel tips
- Definitely plan your day around the stairs unless you are very fit. We only went down once a day and made sure we had everything we needed before heading back up. It’s not too bad. You can stop to rest along the way and enjoy the beautiful view.

A unique place in a unique location
August 2017 - We loved it! A unique place in a unique location.
The air conditioning was fine - we were there in average day time temperatures of 36 degrees and it was plenty cool enough if we put the air conditioning on in the evenings. The pool is tiny, but still very refreshing on a hot day. The beach is lovely, and worth the extra hundreds steps.
Paolo was a great host.

Travel tips
- As previous guests have said, plan your days so that you have not to do the steps too often, unless you are super fit!

Our favorite villa
September 2016 - We have been in Positano four years in a row now. This year we tried Villino Del Re and it is now our favorite villa! We would absorb Positano’s beach and lively night life then head back to the villa for complete privacy and quiet.
The villa and view is more beautiful than the pictures show. There are a lot of steps to get to the villa but they should not be a problem for anyone moderately healthy. Luggage is delivered to the villa via a system of suspended wires and you can ask for your groceries to be delivered right to the villa from the grocery store in Positano.
The private beach is nice if you prefer quiet beaches and kayaking along the coast was memorable though we prefer the busier beach in Positano.
Villino Del Re was paradise for us and we'll be back as soon as we can!

The most unique place ever
September 2016 - We absolutely loved our week at Villlino Supremo and the Amalfi coast. The villa is the most unique place that we have ever stayed and we marveled at how it was built into the side of a mountain.
It completely met our needs and best of all we had absolute privacy. The 300 steps were a challenge but became part of the fun of staying in such a beautiful place.
Air conditioning worked very well even in the bedroom. The bathroom was amazing. The kitchen had everything that we needed to be comfortable. We barely used the living room because we were outside as much as possible.
We would definitely return and recommend this property to others.
Definitely would book again with Summer in Italy. The whole process was user friendly.
Travel tips
- Pack minimally to avoid having to hoist too much luggage.
- Be prepared for the steps but don't be too apprehensive. The climb can be done as slowly as you want and around every corner is a beautiful site to be enjoyed.
- Buy groceries before you arrive so that they can be hoisted with your luggage.
- We loved dining at Restaurant da Bruno where we were treated like family.
- The drive to Amalfi (yest we did drive) was awesome.

Fantastic
September 2016 - We very much enjoyed our stay! The owner was very accommodating and the house was clean.
There are 290 stairs above the main road, with a 5 minute walk to the top of town, and then a decent descent to the heart of Positano! The view is certainly worth it - as well a the privacy - but when the weather acts fussy, it's not so easy as going to your room and waiting it out. Just a heads up for those considering. But, if you are healthy am looking for a romantic getaway, this is the place for you!

A unique romantic place
August 2016 - A very unique villa, that was just perfect for our romantic trip to Italy. I loved the seclusion and earthy character of the property, which was beautifully situated to get the most out of the Amalfi coast. The 300 steps up are part of the attraction, although you may question that after a night out downtown Positano.

September 2015 - Villino Del Re was wonderful -- peaceful, relaxing, beautiful view.
Travel tips
- The location is great -- but people who are physically challenged in any way should be careful in choosing Villino because of the 250 steps up to reach it.
- People should have groceries with them when they arrive so they do not walk up 250 steps and then walk down those steps and then walk the 1/2 mile to town -- then walk back and then up 250 steps again.
- Buy citronella candles if you expect to sit outside -- due to the many flies.

September 2015 - Villino Del Re was absolute heaven on earth! I actually got engaged during my stay at the house, and it provided an excellent base where we could eat in when we wanted a quiet night, or go out to town when we wanted something more festive!
It also was a perfect base for much of the hiking around the area. We were able to hike to Capo Muro (a peak in the area), Nocelle, Praiano, and Bomerano all from that location.
The views were out of this world, and we had complete privacy. Although the seas were rough during most of our stay, the private beach was a great bonus. To our surprise there were actually kayaks available to use, and on a calm day we were able to kayak along the coast, pull in little coves and jump off rocks in to the ocean, and kayak through amazing little caves. All just a few hundred steps (500, actually) down from the house! We are relatively fit, and were in no way bothered by the stairs. It really helped burn off all the delicious pastries we ate.
The house itself is of very good quality, and was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. I almost hesitate to give such a good review, so that next time I want to stay there it won’t already be booked!
You were great, very responsive and provided all the information I needed to get to the house and meet up with the owner. Thanks again!

Very good
July 2015 - Villino Del Re is a wonderful gem. It has amazing historic charm with gorgeous stone and wood throughout. The views from the patio area are second to none looking at the Mediterranean Sea, Positano, the olive trees on the property. It is absolutely breathtaking.
My husband and I went in July and it was hot out. The air conditioner works well on the main floor, but not so great on the upper floor, where the bedroom is at. We ended up sleeping on the pullout sofa which was very comfortable. The bathroom is dug into the stone of the mountain and is a good size. The kitchen is small, but has all the things you need to cook a nice meal, with a grill on the patio.
One day the power went out and the owners came over to fix it and brought us tomatoes and basil from their garden. They were some of the best tomatoes we've ever had.
Now, the stairs up to the villa are over 300. It is rough. The stairs down to the private beach are around 250. So, going from the beach up to the villa is over 500 stairs. We absolutely loved the place, but if we ever came back, would probably not stay there because of the stairs. At least in the summer. We were dripping in sweat every time we walked up to our villa, no matter what time of day it is, and that is stopping once or twice for a break. Otherwise, fantastic property.
Summer In Italy were wonderful. Excellent customer service throughout the process. I would highly recommend you!
Travel tips
- Plan your day around going down the stairs once and back home once, if you can. It makes it easier.
- Restaurant Da Bruno is great, has fantastic views and isn't down in the middle of everything by the water. I would recommend reservations a day or two in advance for the outside tables.
- We went to Capri and I would highly recommend that day trip. Just take the ferry from Positano over. There are boat tours there to take you around the island and to Blue Grotto.
- The private beach was a nice treat as there was a fridge down there to store lunch/beverages, etc... and usually there were only 5 or 6 other people down there. Plenty of chairs and beach umbrellas. They also have kayaks for guests to use. Bring your beach shoes as it is a typical European beach of rocks.
- Pepito's is a great store with linen clothes that are amazing.

Travel tips
- Try Trattoria da Bruno near La Sponda Bus Stop. Views great, service improves each time you go there. Food fresh and reasonably priced. Recommend booking ocean view tables otherwise might have to wait.
- For cheap dinner grab a takeaway pizza from Capricci in town - also good for lunch with view of beach from small deck. Don't forget to go to the private beach.

May 2015 - We enjoyed our 2 wk stay at Villino Del Re. The Villa was the most unique place we have ever stayed in. We enjoyed our dinners at home, almost as much as the ones out. At night it was so peaceful, to eat on the terrace. Since we had 2 weeks, we had plenty of time to just hang out and loved every minute of doing nothing but relaxing.
The house was very well stocked plenty of utensils, plates and pretty much anything you could want. They also have a gas grille to cook on.
Paolo, the owner is very helpful as well. They have a great pulley system to get your luggage up to the house!
I was so pleased with Summer In Italy, from making our reservation, to answering all our questions, Luca and Andrea were very prompt, polite and very knowledgeable. I would book through them again!!
Travel tips
- Bring ear plugs to use until you get used to roosters, which you will, but it took a few days. Also good shoes for use on the stairs and just walking around town.

July 2014 - An interesting and quirky villa. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Being within walking distance of the town centre was a real bonus. But the privacy afforded by the location made it very relaxing. The best of both worlds! We found it a real all you could eat and drink holiday without the drawback of putting on any weight, the climb home saw to that.
A beautiful beach with yet more steps. We have never returned from a holiday fitter than when we arrived before, but this time we did.
Travel tips
- Stop off and do a shop before you arrive. That way it can go on the lift to the villa with your luggage.
- Take the boat to Amalfi (there is no parking), Sorrento is easy by car huge new underground car park in the centre.
- Keep food in sealed containers.
- Go to Hotel Covo dei Saraceni for dinner, the fish and the service is superb.
- If you go to the cafe bar on the left as you go down the steps to the seafront drink triple gin and tonics at the bar: its cheaper than coffee at a table.

June 2014 - We thought Villino Del Re was the most unique place we have ever stayed. So much attention to artistic detail in the house that you cannot see in the photos but you see it once you are there. Lighting, architecture etc. I am curious to know who designed this house. Very special indeed!
Location for us was great, just far enough away not to be with the crowds but close enough to be in town in just 10-15 minutes time when we wanted.
Travel tips
- You really have to be ok and semi in shape with all of the stairs and if so, it is all worth it. Sometimes we went up and down 6 times in one day, which is 1800 steps not to mention the other steps to the beach and/or in town! But still all worth it!
- We walked Nocelle to Praiano. Perfect amount if time, a couple hours on the Path of the Gods and gorgeous if a clear day.
- Also walked from Ravello down to Amalfi. Lots more stairs but wonderful as well and no one was on the trail which was nice.
- Restaurant La Tagliata in Montepertuso was a wonderful gastronomic experience!
- Loved Arienzo Beach, very near the Villino. Pepe is the owner and you can spend the whole day there complete with lounges and umbrellas and you can eat there too. I highly recommend the Parmigiana di Melanzane (Eggplant Parmesan)
- We also had fun at Restaurant Il Guarracino on the walkway towards Fornillo Beach. Great Pizza and view and very peaceful. Get the Tiramisu al Limone. First time for us and it was a great change to the regular Tiramisu.

September 2013 - Villino Del Re has the best views. It's nice to relax on the patio when you're having a lazy day.
Climbing the many stairs did get tiring at times. Sometimes the thought of coming back up those stairs would deter us from running out to the grocery store. If you're fit, then you can handle it.

July 2013 - Fantastic location, a real one-off property. If you like peace and quiet and a rustic feel then you'll love Villino Del Re.
Owner very helpful.
Thanks for all the help. We would definitely recommend you as a company.
Travel tips
- Take plenty of sun tan lotion before you go - very expensive in the shops. Take some mosquito spray too!
- Enjoy the relaxed Italian way of life.
- Buses were very good and inexpensive. Must do Salvatore's Amalfi boat trip with lunch included.

June 2013 - We loved our stay at Villino Del Re. It is a great secluded spot away from busy Positano. We enjoyed it immensely.
The view from the porch was spectacular. However, the 292 steps up to the house were a challenge and we are in good shape. I'd not advise anyone stay here that has any kind of health issues or a bum leg, etc. you need to be physically fit for not just this house but Positano in general.
Travel tips
- Careful on the steps.
- If you walk back to house be careful on main coastal road at night -- wear something reflective and bring a flashlight.
- There is a cat named Olivia that comes and visits everyday between 4 and 5. She is not a stray. She wants to sit on your lap and be petted. Very sweet cat.

June 2013 - Everything was perfect. No one who could disturb your vacation.
Very quiet, everything was like on photos, and even better. The best was the shower in garden. Everything you need is in the house.

May 2013 - Villino Del Re has the most incredible terrace with breathtaking views.
The inside is not super luxurious, but is clean and definitely adequate. If you stay here though, you need to be in shape as there are many steps you have to climb in order to get to the place. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
Travel tips
- If you stay, make sure to buy groceries before hand if you planning on eating at the villa as groceries are more limited in Positano. There is a large supermarket called Auchan at Pompeii exit that is quite good. Also good to stock up for the week before you arrive so that the owners can bring everything up on the elevator.
- The day trip on a boat to Capri is worth.
- We really enjoyed Restaurant Chez Black on the beach in Positano.

May 2013 - If you like to stay at an authentic intimate place, where you have all the privacy you want, and you don't mind to walk 300 steps up the stairs to reach the house, this is a fantastic place to be.

April 2013 - An ideally located apartment with stunning views. It was a bit of an ordeal to reach the property everyday, with the stairs but that made it peaceful and had the feeling of isolation.
It was very comfortable for two with beautiful terraces and outdoor living areas. We had a wonderful week there.
Apartment was clean with good facilities.
I was very pleased with the service we received from yourselves. I would definitely use and recommend your organisation again.
Travel tips
- The apartment is perfectly located to take in all the sites of the Amalfi coast and beyond. Buses depart from close by to go to either Sorrento or Amalfi. Either way makes a nice day out.
- From Sorrento we took the train to Pompeii also another great day out.
- We dined out mainly at Buca di Bacco, food was excellent and well priced.
- Supermarket is located in Positano opposite La Zagara which was nice for a snack/cake/coffee. You will find all you need there. We had little luck finding a butcher and the fish vendor we only found on the last day behind the church.
- Boats depart regularly from the pier to go in all directions, we took the express to Capri and had a beautiful day out there.
- Take a driver for your transfers in and out, highly recommend Limousine Service Sorrento, local driver Agnello was wonderful and we also took a half day tour of Naples with him.

October 2012 - This location is amazing. It's got views to kill for, loads of privacy, your own pool, (almost) your own beach, and all the creature comforts you really need (except an elevator).
We didn't see much of Positano, since we couldn't tear ourselves away from the terrace with its perfect views!
It's true, the stairs are rough, but its more than worth it once you make it to the top. Having an outdoor grill is a great plus too.
You guys were great. I would definitely use you again and recommend to others!
Travel tips
- Make sure you like cats, because chances are you will be getting daily visits from a certain little spotted grey lady. You'll think she's crying for food, but all she really wants is to sit in your lap. She's very sweet (and I am not a cat person, so that's saying something).
- Prepare in advance for the onslaught of the stairs. You will not be making multiple trips up and down in one day, I promise you.
- You'll need something to throw on that grill, no? There is a little grocery about 10-15 minutes away on the coast road in Positano where you can get fruits, veg, deli meats, cheese, wine, milk, etc. The veg are across the street, and the proprietress is very nice. There is also a grocery on the 2nd floor of Delikatessen, which is just down the road from Piazza Mulini, where you can find a selection similar to the above, with less interesting veg but with the welcome addition of eggs. If you are in search of serious meats, you'll need to go all the way to the other edge of Positano, and you'll probably want to take a bus. If you need to buy bus passes for the SITA, try the little gas station just past the Sponda stop on the way down into Positano -- he should have what you need. If he doesn't have the local bus tickets, they have them at the tabacchi at Piazza dei Mulini. I suggest buying a few of both kinds in advance so you don't have to trek over to the store just to catch a bus. Note that you can have the bus stop for you right around the bend from the villa (the name of the stop is Orticelli according to the signage). Be prepared for road closures though -- this happened to us on three different occasions during our one week trip.
- As for restaurants in the area, we LOVED Donna Rosa, which is a bit pricey, and really enjoyed Il Ritrovo, Barillotto di Nonno and Buca di Bacco. If you are willing to go farther afield, we also loved A'Paranza in Atrani, Al Convento and Acquapazza in Cetara, and Cumpa Cosimo in Ravello.
- Last but not least, if you can invest in a mini flashlight, I found my little keychain one indispensable for walking the coast road at night and getting up the dark stairs in areas where light bulbs were out.

October 2012 - Villino Del Re is even better than it appears on the website. My husband and I found it to be the most charming place of our entire trip.
One very stormy day we built a fire in the fireplace, cooked lunch and dinner with groceries from the friendly, local grocer and spent one of the most pleasant days of our trip. It is apparent that Villino Del Re was created by an artist (Vito) who left his heart in his home.
We decided that we could live happily ever after in Villino Del Re. Even fell in love with two of the local cats.
Your correspondence with us was timely and complete as well as the additional information about the area you made available. As you can see by the above comments, Villino Del Re was the highlight of our trip.
Travel tips
- Don't worry about the steps. We're both in our 70's and found them to be no problem at all. Just consider the exercise you're getting.
- There is a small grocery just past La Sponda bus stop on the right side of the street (walking towards town) run by an older woman and her son. If you ask (they speak little to no English and we speak very little Italian and we communicated just fine) you will find that they have almost everything you need including the best loaf of bread we had on the whole trip. Once when we bought an extra amount of food, the woman insisted that her son carry the groceries to the bottom of our stairs.
- Be sure to wander up the path above the house to see the ruins of old buildings and their abundant gardens.
- If you love the linens in the house, be sure to ask well before you leave because they are made by the Giovanni Paolo's father (Vito) and he has a shop in town. I wish we had asked before it was too late.

September 2012 - The villa was fantastic and the owner very helpful and friendly. The only problem was the steps up to it (310 - which we did know about). We thought we'd be able to manage them easily but they were quite difficult, especially in the heat.
However, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the views from the villa almost made up for the trek up to it.
Travel tips
- You really don't need to take anything with you - just about everything is provided.
- You do need to be quite fit though to cope with the steps.

July 2012 - We enjoyed our stay very much - the views from the outdoor area are stunning and it is very very secluded but within walking distance of Positano.
We only visited the beach once, it's a bit pebbly and the sea was not the cleanest on the day we were there but there were deck chairs and toilets and a kitchen available.
The indoor area is unusual in that part of the house is built into the rock face, so the bathroom has stalactites - it was literally like bathing in a cave. The owner had included some very nice touches and all in all we had a wonderful time.
Travel tips
- The TV is small with a few channels in Italian so bring your own entertainment!
- Beach towels, soap, toilet rolls and cleaning material were supplied.
- As previously suggested buy your shopping en route and get it hoisted up to the villa. There are no supermarkets in Positano just small local shops. Oh and take mozzie spray!!
- We took a boat from Positano to Amalfi which was a wonderful day out and a change from driving the winding roads along the Amalfi drive.
- You can a take a local (orange) bus from Sponda (top of the one way street out of Positano -- pay on the bus) to Montepertuso and Nocelle from where there are some wonderful walks without having to climb the mountain on foot.
- Best of all was sitting on the terrace of the villa glass of wine in hand and gazing at the wonderful view...

June 2012 - Both my husband and I loved this place. The view from our balcony over the Positano and the clear waters of the sea. Where else would you find a cave that's been turned into a bathroom - brilliant!!
Having The location, the private beach, the "gondola" for our bags and our host Giovanni Paolo made this a fantastic week to remember. Having a barbecue outside was also fantastic.
We loved this place and have also posted a review on Tripadvisor. We never had a problem, everything worked and worked well.

September 2011 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villino Del Re. It was so peaceful and quiet but yet close enough to the main town to walk in for dinner in the evenings.
Be aware there are many steps from the road up to the house. It takes a good ten minutes to climb up and would not suit anyone with health problems. However it is so close to the town that the steps amount to nearly half the journey! Also you will not need to carry bags up to the house due to the owner's ingenious pulley system. The bus stop is very close by to take trips up and down the coast so a car is not necessary.
The owner was extremely helpful, we only had to call once when our gas ran out.
The view from the terrace was amazing, we enjoyed taking our morning coffee outside every day.
The house was very comfortable and perfect for our needs.
By using the Summer in Italy site it was very easy to locate and book this property. Communication has always been straightforward and I would recommend the website.

September 2011 - Brilliant place - would definitely return. The steps are a killer, but you do get fitter by the end of the week.
Bedroom was too hot, but you can't control the weather and we were more pleased that the weather was hot and we lost a few hours sleep, than the other way round.
Great value for money and really helpful owner.
Everything was first class. Will definitely use you again and recommend to others.
Travel tips
- Buy your shopping before you get there, so you can have it winched up to the villa and not have to carry it later.
- Don't hire a car - get a private transfer from Naples airport and use boats and buses when you are there.
- Save up and have a drink at Le Sirenuse - wildly expensive, but well worth it.
- Capri is a must see and needs a full day.

August 2009 - We had a wonderful two weeks in Villino Del Re: it certainly lives up to its name!
The villa itself is cosy and comfortable with plenty of space for two, but, staying there in August, we practically lived outside. The patio and garden are delightful and the views out of this world: if I could have given them 6 marks out of 5 I would have.
To top it all, on the weekend of the 15th/16th August we had a grandstand view of the spectacular fireworks in the bay at midnight.
The plunge pool was a wonderful place to sit, up to your neck in cool water, when the temperature soared and the air-conditioning and fans provided kept us cool at night.
Yes, those steps are extreme but we got used to them and they certainly kept us fit: in spite of stuffing my face with lovely Italian food I think I actually lost weight on this holiday!
We didn't bother with a car but got a transport from and back to the airport with the quiet and efficient Claudio Lucibello. This is the second year we have used him and we would thoroughly recommend him: his contact details are on the SummerInItaly website. To be honest you don't need a car: the town is about a 10 or 15 minute walk away and it saved the hassle of dealing with parking.
Above all this place represents amazing value for money in Positano. We are already planning our next visit and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with good health and strong calf muscles!
We are so happy with the service from SummerInItaly. We recommend you to all our friends!
Travel tips
- Positano is an expensive town, especially when eating out. The nearest restaurant, on the walk into town, is Bruno which luckily is a great place to eat and reasonable prices. We also had lovely pizzas at Valle dei Mulini. Our favourite place however was O'Capurale. It's right near the more expensive places on the seafront but smaller, cheaper and with wonderfully friendly staff.
- The Delikatessen in town will do you amazing sandwiches but also boxes of great food to take away.
Unfortunately, Villino Del Re can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
