A perfect home for our family: immaculate, spacious, away from the crowded Amalfi Coast
August 2024 - So far, we've been visiting just the north of Italy. This time, we decided to go in the south. The best choice we've made, was to choose this accommodation. Immaculate, spacious. It was a perfect home for our family. We liked the location: away from the crowded Amalfi Coast. Viewings were magnificent. We cooked on a few occasions and had plenty kitchenware and tableware. You had plenty space in the house and around it, to relax and enjoy the beautiful views.
The biggest advantage is the magnificent owner Maria. If everyone in the south of Italy is like Maria, then Italy is a perfect world. Communication with her was efficient. We got lost in the mountain and she came to meet us. Such a lovely woman: from the moment we went in the house, we had fresh tomatoes, lemons, mozzarella, wine (black and white). Where else do you get that? We never did before. Maria suggested a few places to visit: which were great. We asked her if she would sell us some vegetables/fruit, as we were happy to try local products. Maria did offer some fruit, vegetables, wine. Plus, towards the end of our holiday, we have been invited to a pizza evening in Agerola, in their garden. We felt part of their family there. Can't describe in words how nice we felt that evening... Music, pizza, pasta, wine. We were not allowed to leave without trying Maria's tasty tiramisu. We will be back.
This place is great for Amalfi, especially if you also like to leave in the mountains. It makes it attractive for both; cold and warm months. Thank you Maria and your family for such a great house and for making us feel like home... Not just someone renting a house.
Communication with Summer In Italy was good, by email and then phone before arriving. Thank you.
Travel tips
- You do need a car if you come here. But the rest, can be bought from shops that are not far away. If you have the chance to buy local products: go for it. Italian fruit and vegetables are amazing in this area.

We would love to come back
August 2023 - We loved staying at Villa Vinile, 20 mins to Maiori/Minori beaches, 35 mins to Amalfi. The house is overall great, plenty of room and lovely with the cool stone floors. We would love to come back.
Maria [the owner] and her family helped us out if we needed anything for the kitchen, and she stopped by with their home grown tomatoes, squash, mozzerella, etc.
I fell very comfortable with Summer In Italy. Next time will look at Summer In Italy first of all!
Travel tips
- Ristorante & Pizzeria Al Valico di Chiunzi - amazing pizza, it's where locals go.
- Ristorante Pizzeria L'Infinito - best view and amazing food.
- Minori beach - cheap parking, GREAT restaurants.

July 2023 - We stayed unforgettable 10 days at this villa.
The owners were more than generous and waited for us at 4 am to give us the keys and show us the property, they also gave us home made wine and mozzarella cheese which we enjoyed the most.
I have to say that Tramonti is a gem since it’s close to the Amalfi Coast, Naples and all attraction. We will definitely stay there again, thanks Maria [the owner] for your warm hospitality.

Lovely, clean and well renovated
October 2022 - A lovely, clean and well renovated villa. Loved staying here, very comfortable and beautiful mountains/vineyards all around.
Cannot think of any way to improve, great job in providing such good quality accommodation, very welcoming and accommodating.
Always wanted to rent a villa in Italy for a holiday. Was not familiar with your company before that. Would recommend to others as great service, very friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Travel tips
- Some poor roads, narrow mountain ones with scary moments driving around them. Locals can drive rather quickly as they are used to them. Can be tricky to find the first time. Provide extra time in your planned journey to get here safely and in comfort.

Beautiful villa in the mountains, well equipped, fab base for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii...
November 2019 - We had a lovely stay at Villa Vinile, as a family of 5. The villa is well equipped and the owners were very helpful and generous, leaving home-produced wine and produce for us to enjoy.
It's located in a beautiful spot in the mountains, so you definitely need a car. The roads in the region are narrow and very windy/steep, so it's not for the faint-hearted. We were able to get to the coast in 20 mins and to Pompeii / Vesuvius in 40 mins.
The villa had everything we needed and was very comfortable. It's a great spot for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Vesuvius etc. It's also easy to get to Rome on the high speed train from Afragola, in under an hour.
Very lovely holiday... The villa didn't disappoint.

Travel tips
- Shops in Pietre are small but helpful and friendly. Lovely little bakery.
- Buses, while noisy passing the villa, are convenient and frequent for day trips without the car.
- If you have use a car, keep lots, and I mean lots, of change for the parking meters. Very few take notes or credit cards and they are expensive. Usually 2 euro for the first hour and 3 euro for every hour thereafter.

Wonderful house in the mountains!
May 2019 - This was an awesome house. We really got to experience the mountain countryside while staying here. Not a property for those who don't like mountainous roads ( we had to traverse the roads one night in the fog and rain). It is quite the experience getting here. However, this was part of the charm. It was also really great to have a whole house to ourselves to spread out in. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 1 child.
The house is not too far to venture out to the Amalfi Coast for adventures. This was our reason for renting it.
If you like to hike, you should definitely try out "The Path of the Gods" (Sentiero degli Dei). It is not too difficult and extremely beautiful. This was one of the highlights of our trip. It starts out of Bomerano, near Agerola and ends in Positano.

Summer In Italy team were very quick to respond to queries and confirmation, and I was very happy with that.

Beautifully furnished villa in idyllic rural setting yet only 15 minute drive to the Amalfi Coast
October 2018 - Beautifully furnished villa in idyllic rural setting yet only 15 minute drive to the Amalfi Coast. Very enjoyable location made all the more so by very pleasant weather at the end of October. Highly recommended.
Owner Maria and Lina [the caretaker] were friendly and helpful and dealt with any queries quickly and efficiently.
First time to use and very happy with service provided by Summer In Italy staff - Would be happy to use again and recommend to others.
Travel tips
- Supermarkets nearby tend to be small.
- Parking is expensive in Amalfi town and Positano with the parking meters in Amalfi difficult to operate.
- Some very good, reasonably priced restaurants with 10-15 minute drive away from the property away from the more expensive restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.
- Stunning scenery although driving on the narrow winding roads can be a bit stressful!

We had a wonderful stay
July 2018 - We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa surrounded by the greenery. The view from the terrace of the two bedrooms is simply spectacular. That was definitely the highlight of our stay in this accommodation. Villa Vinile was very well equipped, spacious and nicely decorated. We loved the villa’s specious garden equipped with nice furniture. The garden was excellent for our kids to play and for us to sit down and relax.
Maria, the owner of the villa was a great host to deal with, always quickly responding to us with any issues. She gave us a very worm welcome on arrival and also organized a lovely dinner for us the last night. We really appreciated the lovely pizza Maria’s husband made and Maria’s delicious tiramisu. We would like to thank Lina, the property manager who was also very helpful and gave us lots of information about the villa and area.
Although we just came back from the Amalfi Coast we miss that place already especially the lovely people we met, gorgeous food and breathtaking scenery. We definitely would like to come back and stay in this lovely villa in the future.
Very good service from Summer In Italy. Definitely will use in the future.
Travel tips
- You need a car although there is public transport.
- The accommodation has a perfect location, only a 15 min drive to the nearest beach in Maiori.
- It is also closely located to other attractions such as Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and all the lovely places in Amalfi Cost.
- If you do rent a car then there are good supermarkets within a 15 min drive. Also there were a few shops near the villa including a lovely bakery.

A very comfortable villa
October 2017 - A very comfortable villa, with plenty of room for four. Everything worked, with good washing machine, dishwasher and excellent Wi-Fi. Views from the house were great, especially from the bedroom balconies in the mornings. The location was ideal for visiting the coast and other attractions including Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii.
The hosts were considerate and helpful.
Summer In Italy were excellent. Great communication and overall service.
Travel tips
- A car is essential.
- The villa is around 45 minutes from Napoli Airport, 30 minutes from Pompeii and 20 minutes from Maiori on the Amalfi Coast. Other sights to see would include Capri, the Amalfi Coast drive, Positano, Sorrento and the "Walk of the Gods".
- We visited in early October which for us was ideal as the beaches were not crowded and the parking ok.
- Restaurant prices on the coast are high compared to those a few miles inland.
