August 2007 - The entire family (10 people) had a wonderful time.

The location was ideal for visiting the sights and also secluded enough to give one a great sense of privacy.

The owners were most helpful and welcoming.

I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a large villa in the area.

Travel tips

  • As we have always found in rented houses, the knives are never quite as good as home BUT apart from that I cannot think of anything lacking in the accommodations.

July 2007 - We enjoyed everything about Villa Tristano, the ambiance, the space(!), the pool, the terraces, the wine, the location.

We had a warm welcome, lovely wine and the most generous hosts who made sure we had what we needed and were quite willing to help us find the local shops, restaurants and attractions.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed our visit to San Gimignano, but found Volterra to be even better (to us). Florence was a short trip away, and the leather market was fun.

June 2007 - Villa Tristano is a very relaxing and enjoyable villa.

Everyone was very helpful and made our stay pleasant.

Summer in Italy is very pleasant to work with, no problems or hitches, we would recommend to others and would use again.

Travel tips

  • Ask how to operate the clothes washer, sometimes the clothes would spin, other times not [some programs include spinning, some others, for delicate clothes, prevent the washer from spinning].
  • Villa Tristano is close enough for many day trips to other towns.

May 2007 - We all really enjoyed being at the villa.

The owners were extremely helpful in giving us information and advice, calling restaurants to set up reservations, etc.

Their friendliness and helpfulness were much appreciated by our group!

I also thought Summer in Italy's staff was very helpful in assisting with our arrangements. We found you surfing the web and were very happy with the transaction.

Travel tips

  • There are very good quality restaurants in the immediate area, and I would advise guests to rely on the recommendations of the owners of the villa in finding them.
  • We enjoyed taking drives on obscure country roads in the vicinity of Highway 222 and also going to Siena, San Gimignano, and Castellina was enjoyable.
  • The scenery in the countryside is spectacular in every direction.
  • I think it's a must to have a rental car.
  • The owners arranged a catered dinner for us at the villa, and that was very enjoyable, with enough food for two meals.
  • The PAM grocery store nearby was very nice along with the coffee shop a few hundred meters toward Poggibonsi from the villa.

June 2006 - Our stay at Villa Tristano was one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany. I cannot say enough about the Villa, the reception by the owners, the view and the location (1/2 way between Florence and Siena).

We were thre different families and we all felt like we had the privacy and access to all the important parts of the house and grounds. My daugthers loved the swimming pool.

I would not hesitate to recomment the Villa and you can be assured that when I return to Tuscany it will be to stay at Villa Tristano.

The only small concern is that the showers are a bit small. A small price to pay for an otherwise exceptional place.
