Would we stay here again? Absolutely; it was so much more than we had expected!
November 2023 - We had researched several apartments along the Amalfi Coast but as soon as we walked into Villa Sirana we knew that we had made the right choice.
On 2 levels, with a large double bedroom on each level and a small but adequate kitchen with a small dining area on the lower level, it had everything we needed and more. Both bedrooms have large double beds; one also has a single bed and the other a sofa-bed. There is also a washing machine and an iron and board and parking for a small car. The only thing missing is an indoor sitting area but my guess is that as long as it’s not raining any socialising would be done outdoors on one of the terraces overlooking the sea (where there’s plenty of garden furniture). There is even a garden, also on 2 levels with flowers, fruit and vegetables and Signora Margherita (our charming hostess) told us to use whatever we liked from the garden (we ate some of the aubergines, tomatoes, chillies and herbs and a couple of lemons; the figs had just finished when we got there).
Signora Margherita is such a lovely, warm and welcoming lady; nothing was too much trouble for her and even though she is an elderly lady she was up and down those stairs like a mountain goat! We were staying for 10 nights and she insisted on coming in herself to change our bedding half way through (although I could easily have done it myself, there being lots of spare sheet and towels). I should say here that the bed was very large and very comfortable with good quality sheets (sounds silly, but I do like nice sheets that are big enough for the bed, which these were). She also personally came to collect any food waste daily (she would collect it from the bins in the garden without disturbing us). Also she sent her staff to do any little tasks that she couldn’t manage (like to change a light bulb). She even gave us a gift of a very nice bottle of wine, arranged the access to a nearby hotel’s heated pool and a discount for eating in a nearby hotel's restaurant when I couldn’t be bothered to cook. She made recommendations on what to visit, bus times, etc and helped to make any bookings that we wanted. Of course we did go out and about visiting other villages along the coast and to Pompeii and Herculaneum, but the villa was somehow spacious and cosy at the same time so we were equally happy to spend a couple of days just relaxing “at home” which I think worried our hostess (she was afraid we might not be enjoying ourselves). All in all, Signora Margherita could not have been more helpful and kind. We were very sorry to have to leave.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely; it was so much more than we had expected! It was perfect.
Travel tips
- There is a mini-market, Tutto per Tutti, about 400 metres from the villa. It has a small stock of toiletries, canned and packaged goods, fruit and vegetables and pre-packaged meat and also a small deli counter, but if there's anything you might need that you can't get from this small shop, bring it with you as there's no major supermarket nearby.

Fantastic location
September 2023 - Villa Sirana has a fantastic location in Praiano. The villa has an amazing view of the ocean and the garden is filled with figs, lemons, limes, tomato’s, etc., all for picking.
The villa is spacious, with two floors. Two bed rooms with a total of five proper beds. The beds are “Italian style”, a bit hard compared to our much softer beds at home :)
Travel tips
- Just across the street from the villa is Hotel Margherita. We were allowed to use its nice pool and also had a fantastic dinner at their restaurant (Mamas) one of our nights.
- Praiano is super nice, lots of great restaurants and people. We drove to the town of Amalfi one day and to Pompeii one day, both excellent sights.

Amazing villa
July 2023 - This villa is amazing! One of the few you don’t need to walk down many flights of stairs to access which makes getting around easy.
I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a place in a central location in Amalfi coast set away from the hustle bustle of Positano.
Travel tips
- The fridge was filled with fresh lemons from the trees outside! We made delicious lemonade, such a treat!
- There is a nice beach club called “Il Pirata” which you can access via nearby steps in a 15 min walk.

Definitely recommended
July 2022 - We would definitely recommend this place for families staying in Amalfi Coast. The bus stop is right at the place so getting around was very convenient. We also really enjoyed the many decks to hangout, eat and have wine.

Incredible villa with breathtaking views
June 2022 - Villa Sirana was absolutely incredible! The outdoor space and the views are breathtaking and we loved the lemon trees/garden on the property.
The inside of the property was clean and had a homey feel to it. The beds were comfortable and there was a ton of storage space. The kitchen was a bit small but it wasn’t a problem because we ended up sitting outside to eat most of the time :)
The bus system was so easy to use and had a stop right outside the apartment that was super convenient.
We would definitely recommend staying at Villa Sirana!
Travel tips
- We loved walking to Kasai restaurant and up the hill and the local grocery store a little ways down the hill.

We enjoyed everyday
September 2019 - Our month in Italy and Villa Sirana went too fast. We enjoyed everyday and most of all we cannot say enough of the villa's wonderful owner, Margherita.
The views were outstanding and the grape vines, lemon and fig trees, vegetables and spices were there for our picking. We totally enjoyed sitting out under the pergola enjoying the view and drinking the great Italian wines. The villa was immaculate and fairly well equipped. If we didn't find what we needed, Margherita made sure she brought it over. The best part was that there are not many steps to the first floor entry. The only drawback that we had was that there was no common living room area. The bedrooms were large with a table and two chairs, but socializing happened outside under the pergola on either of two terraces.
I cannot say enough about Margherita. She is wonderful and so caring about making guests happy and comfortable. Due to flight delays, we arrived into the evening and there was Margherita with her big smile waiting for us to explain everything we had to know about our new surroundings. She is a gem and always looked forward to her visits.
This is the second time we have used your company to rent on the Amalfi Coast and it was again a delightful experience. You were prompt with any issues or questions we might have had and very helpful with giving us guidance with airport pick up and sightseeing. I have recommended you to other friends and will continue to do so. We will be back!!
Travel tips
- The villa was conveniently located right on the bus line for both the internal Praiano bus and the bus that goes round trip into Positano.
- Tickets can be bought at the near hotel, which was a few feet away from the bus stop.
- There is a pharmacy and very well equipped market down a nice walk down the road.
- Walking up and down the roads will definitely allow you to eat and drink and not worry about gaining weight.
- There is a very nice restaurant again a very short walk from the house called Kasai but make sure you make reservations.
- Suela, Margherita's daughter (also a gem) will be glad to make you dinner reservations at the hotels in Praiano and the best part about that is they will come pick you up and bring you back to the house. We did not have a bad meal at any restaurant she recommended to us, especially the roof top restaurant with the outstanding view at Hotel Margherita. Music on Monday evenings.
- Now transportation to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento, Capri, etc. Is another story. You have to walk down into the center of Praiano, purchase your tickets for the SITA bus at the tobacco shop, which closes daily from 1-5 and hope you get on the very over crowded bus to your destination. Considering the main road is only two lanes, the town to town bus runs approximately every 45 minutes if there are no traffic jams. So make sure you either get your tickets the day before you want to visit another town or purchase before the shop closes for daily siesta.
- The very narrow streets of Positano were extremely crowded and claustrophobic until you get down to the beach area.
- Our favorite town other than Praiano was Amalfi. Prices for gifts and food seemed to be cheaper there and because the main area opens into a gorgeous piazza, you do not feel the crowds.
- The boat trip over to Capri was lovely but again it is very crowded. You get off of the ferry and either wait on line for another crowded bus up to Anacapri or take an expensive taxi ride to the top.
- A big must for purchase is a flyswatter and mosquito spray. Both are terrible.
- I sound like all I am doing is complaining about our month on the Amalfi Coast, but all I can say is that this is the second time we have spent a month there and will probably do it again. Besides I spent a month with no American news and that was the best.
- Enjoy it!!

A true delight
June 2019 - My two week stay in Villa Sirana at the end of May and into early June was a true delight. There are many things to love about this house. Here are a few highlights:
1) The terraced garden with places to sit and admire the sea.
2) The breeze off the sea rolling into the two lovely bedrooms.
3) The local bus stop at the steps above the house.
4) The accessibility to Praiano. (This town is especially well-suited for those who love to walk and are not daunted by serious steps all over town. It's a vertical place!)
5) Good restaurants within walking distance.
6) The kindness of Margherita in making sure I was comfortable and checking in right when I needed her to.
This is overall a quieter place, so excellent for writing, reading, and collecting your thoughts after an intense day of sightseeing, hiking, or working. My husband and I savored every minute we could during the time he could join me!
Summer In Italy is the best vacation rental service I have ever worked with. Thank you!
Travel tips
- I recommend making sure you set the local bus schedule to easily accessible on your cell and prepare to walk as much as possible to get a sense of this part of Italy. (We didn't rent a car and were glad about that.)
- Check out the Walk of the Gods in the hills above the towns for a serious hike and sense of life above the tourist fray.
- Grocery store is within easy walking distance of the house.
- We enjoyed visiting Positano but loved the day spent at the towns of Amalfi and Atrani even more. You do have to hike down to the beach -- really hike -- but it's a fun, welcoming place once you get there.
- Hiring a boat for a day (with or without a captain) from a local place in Praiano is worth it too.

The best part of this villa is the quiet location and the beautiful view from the outdoor terraces
May 2019 - We stayed at Villa Sirana in April 2019, it is wonderful! The best part of this villa is the quiet location and the beautiful view from the outdoor terraces.
The unit was great, Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and everything was fine. The villa has wonderful outdoor living spaces. Having a bedroom and bath on separate floors gave us just enough private time so we weren't bumping into each other, but we enjoyed the outdoor areas together. It was very helpful having a full kitchen and a clothes washer! We loved it.
The owner (Margherita) was available and very accommodating.
I have booked with Summer In Italy before and would continue to as I plan to come back.
Travel tips
- The town of Praiano is perfectly situated between Amalfi and Positano, providing a quiet respite from the busy tourist towns. Buses between those towns are available but a few times were not reliable due to heavy traffic.
- We found it easy to get around and a few times caught the local bus to take us up and down the hills.
- There is a nice food market down the street.

We loved it!
August 2018 - We loved it! Villa Sirana is a great location, right next to the bus stop to take you into Positano (you can buy your tickets from the reception of the nearby hotel, which is so convenient). All in all a really lovely place to stay and really feel like you get to take in the views, culture and wonderful people of the Amalfi Coast. Also, this house has fewer stairs than probably any other you'll find. It was an amazing stay.
Then there's Margherita herself - what a charming woman! She owns the villa and looked after us very well. Thank you!
Travel tips
- Use the bus, it's convenient and easy to figure out.
- Don't waste your meals eating on the bottom of Positano. Eat on streets higher up, and ask locals for their input.

We absolutely loved our time there!
July 2018 - We absolutely loved our time at Villa Sirana. The house is lovely and traditional. Very spacious and well equipped, also very clean. We woke with breathtaking views from the terraces, surrounded by lemon trees. We were told to help ourselves to the garden produce which we did willingly (tomatoes, aubergines, figs, basil). Would definitely return.
We were greeted by the owner late in the evening (due to a flight delay), she is a lovely lady and showed us round the house and grounds thoroughly. We were very hungry and she took us over the road to Hotel Margherita and organised some food for us.
Travel tips
- In a great location for the local bus which stops behind the villa. As Praiano is hilly (as is all of this coast) don't be put off as the bus takes you all around the town. Also the bus to Positano stops there too.
- There is a great local supermarket 5 minutes down the road (be sure to check out the wine cellar).
- Lots of lovely restaurants nearby.

Fantastic
September 2017 - Villa Sirana is way better than described. I would recommend this to anyone, but also would like to keep it to ourselves. The views are amazing and it is so peaceful. The lemon and fig trees were amazing, fresh figs for breakfast and plenty of lemons for Gin and Tonic. Also picked the grapes for lunch etc.
We were very impressed with Villa Sirana and of course Margherita [the owner], who is a star. Nothing was too much trouble. Couple of small problems, but they where dealt with in a timely manner. Thank you Margherita for looking after us and making our stay stress free.
We found Summer In Italy to be very professional and kept us informed at every step. The transfer taxi they recommended was very good.
Travel tips
- Even though everything is provided except a microwave, you will need mosquito spray.
- Villa Sirana is at mid point in the town, so it is a good walk to the shops.
- There is the local bus which stops outside the house.
- The local pizza restaurant does take away, and it is good.
- The little supermarket in the town is cheaper than Tutto Per Tutti which is nearer and not as steep a hill to climb.
- A visit to Vivaro Wine Bar is a must, but you have to book.
- The restaurant in the nearby hotel is good, ate there on the last night, fantastic views over the bay.
- The Walk of the Gods is a must. You will need good shoes, I used walking boots. There are over a 1000 steps to the top plus scrambling over rocks. Visit the Tourist Information for further details. The lady in there is very knowledgeable and friendly.

We were so impressed with Summer In Italy service and information. Great job, thanks.

August 2016 - Villa Sirana is a fantastic place. It is clean, well equipped, there is everything you need to stay with family. The standard is very good and I loved the garden with its lemon and fig trees.
The owner is nice and very helpful and I would like to thank Margherita for her help and hospitality.
Everything was fine with Summer In Italy. They are very very helpful and you can trust in them. It was my first holiday with Summer In Italy and I'm sure I will use their your services next time too.
Travel tips
- If you are going to spend holidays in Villa Sirana I recommend to book the parking space. Parking can be a problem on the Amalfi Coast.
- Villa Sirana has its own parking space, but it must be reserved ahead of time.
- Near Villa Sirana there is a place where you can rent small electric car to visit the area.

June 2016 - We loved Villa Sirana and highly recommend it for two couples. It is a gem! Don't think twice, just stay there!
The owner Margherita was lovely and warm.
In Praiano you can escape the hordes of tourists of Positano and Amalfi, but easy bus access makes them just close enough.
We booked with Summer In Italy because we found Villa Sirana and the price for a week was so reasonable.
Travel tips
- Stay here and be sure to take advantage of a boat trip to Capri.
- A visit to Paestum is also worth the effort.
- The hotel across the street has a lovely restaurant on the roof and the entire staff was so nice with us helping also with travel questions.

May 2016 - We had a fantastic time at Villa Sirana.
The house has two floors, one bedroom on each floor and two different terraces. The bedroom with en-suite bathroom on the upper floor is very nice. The two terraces are fantastic. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped but quite little. The place where you can eat (if it's to cold to eat outside on the terrace) is very little and dark. The other bedroom is nice but not so exceptional, the bathroom at the bottom floor is okay. The house is very well maintained, furniture are of very good quality and in the bathroom we found soap, towels, bathrobes, everything you get in a 4 stars hotel.
Margherita [the owner] has done a very nice job helping us when needed.
We strongly recommend Villa Sirana as well as reserve through Summer In Italy. The booking process was very pleasant, we got very good service and advice from them.

May 2016 - Villa Sirana is a good villa. Great views. Well located for convenience.

I definitely recommend Summer in Italy. Service, good communication, professionalism and reasonable pricing.

April 2016 - I must say we had an excellent stay there. Villa Sirana is fantastic. It has the advantage of having two levels bedrooms and a wonderful seaside view. There are 4 levels of garden: one with flowers, 2 levels with the terraces which have nice lounge areas and also tables to enjoy dinning with sea view and a 4th level with lemon trees.
We liked the location very much! Highly recommended for a nice Amalfi holiday!
The owners were really nice and helpful, always giving good advice and being there when we needed.
Summer in Italy was very professional and helpful! I will also book with you in the future.

August 2015 - Villa Sirana was very well equipped. There were many nice features in the house, but our absolute favorite part was being outside on either of the two terraces covered by lemon and fig trees, a grape arbor, with tomatoes and basil growing nearby, which we were welcome to enjoy, all while overlooking the sea.
My family and I spent the 12 previous days traveling in France and Italy seeing many amazing sights, so it was wonderful to relax at the end of our vacation for the last few days.
Margherita [the owner] could not have been more welcoming and helpful with information! She felt like an Italian mother or grandmother I never had! She was wonderful, very helpful with bus information, recommending things to see and do, etc.
I had many questions along the way, about transportation, beaches, things to and all the people we interacted with at Summer In Italy were professional, responded quickly with answers and website links, and were extremely pleasant. We had an extraordinary experience!
Travel tips
- Driving on the coast is a challenge, not for the feint of heart, but we did it!
- We were fortunate to be visiting during the Luminaria Festival the first few days of August, a sound and light show in Praiano.
- The church is magnificent - floors covered in local ceramic tile, gorgeous light blue walls and white architectural details.
- We ate twice at the Hotel Margherita directly across the street. They serve complimentary blush wine before dinner and limoncello afterwards, and the view from the rooftop restaurant of the twinkling lights from the town on either side is exquisite. Food is top notch.
- We enjoyed the beach in Amalfi, the Emerald Grotto and local ceramic shop across the street from the grotto, both just outside Praiano, and the view from Villa Rufolo high atop Ravello.

April 2014 - We stayed at Sirana Villa 5-8 April 2014 and loved it!
It was very clean, quaint, and lovely. The terraces were beautiful... with lemon trees, flowers, gardens, and the view.
Margherita, the owner, was wonderful and so thoughtful. She had fresh vege's, meats and a wonderful cake for us upon our arrival. She was very hospitable, provided lots of amenities, and a joy to chat with.
Praiano was a good central location to stay due to its location on the Amalfi Coast. The town is quiet and makes you feel you're in the heart of Italy.
