Absolutely amazing!

June 2024 - The villa was absolutely amazing! The views were stunning, the villa was beautiful and we were in the pool every day. Everything was spacious and we felt at home right away.

During our stay, the couple times we had questions, communication was easy and we got responses very quickly.

We would happily return in a heartbeat and hope we are able to soon.

Thank you Summer In Italy!

May 2024 - I'd never heard of Summer In Italy before booking, so I was quite nervous before making my reservation, but Luca and Klint completely blew my worries away! I must’ve asked over 30 very detailed questions leading up to my stay, and they responded SO quickly with just as detailed responses. They were just so friendly and kind in our interactions over the past 4 months that I couldn’t have dreamt of a better company to book with!

The villa itself is absolutely gorgeous. It looks EXACTLY like the pictures. You might think a little bit of photoshopping was involved or a wider lens to make things look bigger, but nope! It really is precisely the same in person. Everything you could need is more than provided for - cooking tools & utensils, cleaning supplies, bathroom amenities, laundry amenities, etc. There is even a large fridge on the terrace that is stocked with various wines to drink at an additional charge (kind of like a hotel mini bar). The kitchen is also stocked with spices, etc that I believe were from previous guests - which was actually quite nice and saves a little bit of money from having to buy basics like salt, pepper, sugar, etc. The place was spotlessly clean and Ida the cleaner (who was so lovely!) came in everyday as promised to clean, take out the trash etc.

We had a toddler in our group and they had no problems setting up a little cot for him in one of the rooms prior to our arrival. It was so thoughtfully done too - complete with sheets, a little baby pillow and blanket!

Antonietta (the caretaker) contacted me the morning of our arrival and gave detailed instructions on the meetup point, parking instructions, checking on our need for a porter etc. She gave a lovely tour once we arrived and explained everything works. Though we didn’t get to use the pool much, it was beautiful and crystal clean. During our stay, the Wi-Fi was very fast and reliable, shower pressure was fantastic and heated up quickly, dishwasher worked perfectly, and air conditioners worked perfectly as well - the villa is really so meticulously cared for, we had absolutely no issues with anything at all!

Cash deposit drop-off and refund was very easy and seamless - we gave Antonietta the money on arrival and she messaged the night before our departure to confirm the amount being returned (if you book porters, it’s taken out of the deposit so you don’t need to worry about it) and arrived promptly the morning of our departure to return it back to us.

The villa is extremely very well situated - just at the top of the stairs is the bus stop and a small area for cars to park (very handy if you’ve rented a car). And there is also possibility of parking on the road leading up to the villa. Antonietta gave us very useful information on how the parking works regarding payment and getting the best rate (she’s definitely a real one, haha).

The villa itself is also very secure (there is a locked gate to gain access to the property) and your only neighbour will be the owner of the property who lives beside the villa. It really feels secluded and private - and the view over the coast is absolutely breathtaking.

All in all, this was well above a 5 star stay. Everyone from the Summer In Italy team, to Antoinetta our caretaker, to Ida the cleaner were so helpful and friendly. And of course the villa was better than everyone could’ve imagined. We had a few people in our group who only stay at hotels and had never stayed at a private home, and they were completely blown away! I would definitely DEFINITELY recommend and I am already dreaming of coming back!

You were all so amazing! I came across your website as it was the first result when I googled the name of the villa (after seeing it elsewhere). I was interested because you had the best rate I’d seen online, and I booked because I really appreciated the amount of detail on the website (one of my absolute favourite things is how you categorize the pictures by each room/space so we know what we are looking at). The 24/7 US number also instilled a lot of confidence and how friendly and detailed you were in your emails. It felt like I was booking with a trusted friend.

Fantastic property with spectacular views

October 2023 - Oh my, the property is fantastic. The grounds, the pool, the outdoor grill and pizza oven, all awesome. We spent all our time outside. The views of Ravello and Amalfi were spectacular. Would highly recommend this property. The only downside, if you can call it that, was the walk up the stairs from the villa back up to the main road. Highly recommend using the baggage porter service to take luggage back up at checkout. At €8 per bag, highly worth it.

Simply spectacular

August 2023 - The villa was simply spectacular. The views were stunning, Marilena (the property manager) was so helpful, and the owner (Pina) was just lovely and a wonderful cook. We will come back for sure.

Perfection

July 2023 - This place could not be more perfect. There is a calm silence in the morning at Villa Mabella that is invigorating. The roosters crowing, the church bells ringing and the smell of lavender in the air.

Mrs. Pina [the owner] and her staff are the quintessential hosts. Zucchini blossoms, arancini, delectable pasta fagioli and the most delightful tomato salad ever eaten are just some of the delicious food she served us. Her joy for life and her welcoming demeanor made this truly an unforgettable trip. The concierge, Marilena, helped us select the most wonderful restaurants and excursions, and was available to assist us before and during our entire time at the Amalfi Coast. She helped make this vacation extremely memorable.

We had three generations gathering to celebrate milestones including one year, five year, twenty five year, and fifty year wedding anniversaries. It truly was an incredible getaway!

The perfect choice for our family, nothing short of magical!

October 2022 - Villa Mabella was nothing short of magical. Every detail was perfect during our entire stay.

The grounds of the villa were spectacular, with a garden maze for our two young children to run around, beautiful pool with plenty of lounge chairs, and multiple patios and terraces to sip coffee, enjoy the views, and just relax. Inside the villa was very, very clean, with cleaning service coming to visit multiple times during our stay. In-house washer was very convenient and easy to use. This villa was the perfect choice for our family for the week while attending a wedding in Ravello.

Luca was very responsive to communications prior to the trip, and provided great resources in preparation to ensure every detail was met and exceeded. Marilena was a fabulous coordinator during our stay - from pre-delivering flowers to the villa upon arrival, to recommending and setting up chef Pina to come and cook for us two nights during our stay (every course was absolutely amazing and highly recommend this experience), to recommending our taxi in Scala to drive us wherever we wanted - we travelled often to Ravello (about 8 min) and also went to Amalfi (about 25 min) - amazing service, very responsive, very professional, safe, and well-priced when comparing to other services. Truly, everything leading up to and during our stay was absolutely magical. Every recommendation was spot on. Villa was meticulously cared for (flowers, grounds, interior linens, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc) which was really important to us.

The pre-visit paperwork was very helpful to prepare for our stay (navigating there, what to expect, etc). You've got a great team there.

All the details were very helpful, and was very easy to process, plan, and coordinate. Team was very responsive and professional. We decided to book with Summer In Italy based upon the villa that we found, and we actually recommended Summer In Italy web page to other family members who were looking for accommodations during the same time of travel.

Extraordinary villa, could not have had a better stay

June 2022 - Villa Mabella is extraordinary. I will be dreaming about this villa for a lifetime. I pray to return one day. My party and I could not have had a better stay or have picked a more divine location.

Wonderful environment and wonderful accommodation

September 2019 - Five couples stayed here. Wonderful environment and wonderful accommodation. The villa with the swimming pool and all the other facilities made us feel like a king.

Our host Mrs Pina cooked for us two nights and no one was betrayed by her food. The assistance we got from Lidia [the property manager] was unique and we enjoyed everything she recommended. Pina and Lidia, thank you very much for this week, it won't leave our memories for months. We will be back!

Scenic location

June 2019 - The villa is perfectly situated in scenic Scala -- a short stroll to the small village downtown for groceries and sundries and a lovely hour’s walk downhill to Amalfi.

Scenic overviews and a beautiful garden on the property, a lovely pool, gorgeous oven and outdoor space makes for a brilliant family and friends’ retreat. We plan to make this an annual visit!

Summer in Italy is extremely responsive, professional, and a delight to work with!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

October 2018 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Villa Mabella is amazing, fabulous gardens, patios and other outdoor space.

The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Kitchen fairly small for a villa sleeping 10 but very well equipped. The barbecue area is lovely. Bathrooms plentiful and fine, bit dated. Loved the pool and of course the amazing view. Lots of steps to walk of the pizza and pasta.

Everyone was really helpful and friendly.

September 2018 - We had a great time at Villa Mabella. Didn't realize there were so many steps from the street to the villa, but it worked out. Wished we had a little more time that we could linger outside. We hardly used the inside of the house except to sleep. If we were there, we were outside.

September 2018 - It was the best. If I am ever back in the area with a group of friends or family, Villa Mabella is where I am staying.

September 2017 - We had a fantastic time at Villa Mabella. The house and setting are amazing, and the location was perfect.

The whole coast is hilly so we walked and climbed steps from town to town to work off the excellent food everywhere and took the easy-to-navigate buses whenever we got tired. You really can walk almost everywhere from the house -- Amalfi, Ravello, Minori, Maiori.

The bustle of the towns on the coast calms as you get to Ravello, a lovely town with 2 enchanting gardens, then calms more as you get to Scala, a quaint little square with a cafe and restaurant, and a couple of markets.

The house and grounds, though, are perfectly serene with a patio looking out over the hills and sea, a yard for strolling, and hidden little alcoves here and there.
