Best of our vacation

October 2023 - This Villa was the best part of our vacation. Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Pompei and Positano were all so incredibly crowded that it was with total relief to end our day in Massa Lubrense at this beautiful villa. Even though the hike up to the house tested our endurance, at least we didn’t gain any weight!

Our hostess was so incredibly accommodating. Definitely a 5 star experience! Oh and I forgot to mention the beautiful pool and Mediterranean vibe from the pool.

This is the second time we’ve booked through Summer in Italy and I highly recommend them. They were so helpful in our planning, helping with driver recommendations as well as tours.

Travel tips

  • It’s a short walk to the village and there are great restaurants in walking distance or a short cab to the harbor.
  • Definitely book boat trips from the Massa Lubrense harbor vs. Sorrento.
  • Bus runs every 15 minutes to Sorrento and it’s only about 10-15 minutes and super cheap! Bottom line, you won’t need a car.

Very good

Travel tips

  • Massa Lubrense is such a lovely village.
  • All the notes talk about the Sita bus to Sorrento but you can also take the local bus from the town square, much cheaper and they run every half hour.
  • The bar/bakery as you head from the villa to town on the left is fantastic.
  • The driveway to the house is very steep. Only small cars without much weight in them can get up there. Tough coming home to make it up there after a long day out.
  • Definitely go down to the local marina, gorgeous walk and lovely by the water, lots of locals around.
  • Angelo's cafe, great food cooked by Mamma.

Excellent

April 2023 - Villa Lillamora was one of the highlights of our European adventure.

This location was PERFECT for our family. We have a 9 and 6 year old and they had the time of their lives. This beautiful villa is a 10 minute bus ride from Sorrento. We LOVED going into bustling Sorrento, but then retreating to Massa Lubrense (more locals and smaller). We loved the markets, the wine, the view, the company and the FOOD was delicious. Town is just a short 5-10 minute walk. From there you can catch the bus to Sorrento or coordinate other activities you might want. There is a tourist info office right by the bus stop.

We loved it and LOVED Vicki, the owner. She was kind and helpful!

Travel tips

  • You can buy a bus ticket from any tabaccheria or the tourist info!
  • Be ready to sit back and relax and explore the Amalfi coast. We rented a scooter one day and toured the whole coast. It was perfect and lovely!
