Great place, highly recommend
August 2024 - This place was great. Highly recommend. Views can’t be beat. Very easy and friendly check in and out. Nice lemon tree shade on front patio. Close to fantastic restaurants, shops, and grocery. Everything was in proper working order and clothes washer and dishwasher was great to have. You won’t be disappointed with this place!
Location, views, and value for money were on point. The washing machine was a selling feature as we packed light and made use of it.
Travel tips
- Restaurant La Strada right next door is a great rooftop restaurant.
- Scooter rental is a relatively short walk away.

I could not recommend staying here more
July 2024 - My wife and I stayed 5 nights here and we could not recommend it more. Our host, Adriana, and her family, were the most incredible people.
The apartment was clean and honestly bigger than expected, the lemon tree on the front patio was beautiful and great for pictures. The view of Positano and the sea was breathtaking, especially at night time. We were given great advice on local spots, and treated like family with a warm welcome. Adriana lent us bus tickets and even made us a delicious dessert one night and brought it to us as she lives nearby. The AC was a huge plus as the Amalfi Coast is hot at all times. I could not recommend staying here more. This was the best experience we’ve had with a host. Thank you Adriana!

Wonderful place with a beautiful view
July 2024 - We had a very good time in this apartment. It was a well equipped apartment, a wonderful place with a beautiful view of the sea from the terrace.
The host was very kind, she did everything to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. Mille grazie per tutto!
Summer In Italy did a great job. Thanks for everything!
Travel tips
- Restaurant La Strada near the apartment served great pizza at an affordable price.
- We drank our morning coffee at Bar del Sole, 5 minutes from the apartment. The service was very kind and attentive at both places.

Comfortable apartment with stunning views!
June 2024 - We loved our stay at Villa Gisella B in Praiano. The apartment was very comfortable and the views were stunning! It was very clean and well maintained too.
Summer In Italy was super helpful, also in recommending a boat rental. We had a great experience.
Travel tips
- The restaurants in Praiano are wonderful. Never had a bad experience. Every meal was delicious.
- Everything in Praiano is within easy walking distance of the market, gift shop and the restaurants.
- It was a little out of the way to get to Positano, Amalfi and Marina di Praia Beach. The buses were not following a schedule and many were late. May be better hiring a driver or renting scooters for the week.
- I highly recommend MR Porter service.

Excellent apartment with a lovely view of the sea
June 2024 - Excellent apartment with a lovely view of the sea. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace both mornings and evenings where we could follow the activities in the sea and watch the stars on the heaven at night.
It was just so good as it could be and the owner was so friendly and we want to thank her especially for the gifts coming down from above!
Summer In Italy were very helpful. In addition, they have a nice selection of holiday homes and are always there on the chat to help out.
Travel tips
- We would recommend hikes in the mountains behind the house (e.g. the Path of the Gods).
- If you want a more quiet beach go for the communal beach in the middle of the town.

Wonderful late October stay
November 2023 - We had a wonderful 8 nights at Villa Gisella B in late October. The apartment is immaculate, very comfortable and beautifully furnished, with gorgeous views from every room.
Although we only used the coffee maker and microwave a couple of times, the kitchen is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals.
The outdoor patios are fabulous with glorious views that we never tired of, and we were very fortunate to have mostly great weather during our stay so were able to enjoy sitting outside. Yes, the 90 stairs up to the villa are a lot, but plenty of opportunity to take a breather and enjoy the views on the way up, and the trolley system that is in place to transport luggage up and down is brilliant.
The villa is very well situated in the village and within easy walking distance to several restaurants, little shops and small grocers
. Mrs. Adriana was wonderful to deal with and had the fridge stocked with fresh fruit and a bottle of Prosecco for our enjoyment, and shared a large piece of homemade cake with us one evening that was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend!
I would look at the SummerInItaly.com website in the future if looking for accommodation in Italy. Very good communication, and helpful staff.
Travel tips
- Personal favourites were La Strada restaurant (right next door), where we ate dinner 5 times out of our 8 nights. Wonderful service and very good food.
- We also very much enjoyed a meal at Ristorante Tramonto D'Oro, as well as Trattoria San Gennaro. A lunch favourite was Che Bonta, and definitely breakfast every morning at Bar del Sole for fabulous coffee and a good selection of pastries and panini's.
- We recommend leaving your rental car parked at the villa (we didn't use our car for the entire stay in Praiano), and taking the local bus to the nearby towns - saves the hassle of finding parking and paying exorbitant rates to do so.
- We did visit Amalfi from another accommodation that we started out trip with, and Positano from Praiano. Frankly, we preferred the quieter atmosphere of Praiano. Most of our time was spent just walking around Praiano and enjoying the sites there.

5 star reviews all around!
September 2023 - We absolutely loved staying in this beautiful property. It was comfortable, charming and had incredible views of the coast. The town of Praiano is super cute and the property is walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and an easy drive to the other towns located along the coast. The air conditioning worked great and the bed was super comfortable. The home was well stocked with everything we needed, the attention to detail in the house was very impressive.
We really enjoyed meeting the owner and her daughter who were both very kind, they were able to communicate everything we needed to know and even helped us figure out the water taxi. 5 star reviews all around!

10/10 would stay again
August 2023 - My husband and I loved the villa. The views were incredible, the beach down the cliff was excellent (stop at Mirante Cafe on your walk down or up for the best cocktails of your life). The full kitchen was great and the bed was quite comfortable.
Praiano was the perfect place to have as a home base, good restaurants, easy access to buses and taxis but away from the craziness of Amalfi and Positano. Your buns will get a good workout from the stairs. 10/10 would stay again.

Even better than the photos describe, loved it!
July 2023 - My husband and I loved staying at Villa Gisella B. Both the apartment and the views are even better than the photos describe them. The location is excellent for exploring other towns on the Amalfi Coast. The town of Praiano is beautiful, much less crowded than other places, and has great restaurants. We also appreciated the washing machine and dishwasher. The two outside sitting areas were fabulous with amazing views!
We enjoyed meeting Mrs. Adriana and her daughter, who were both very friendly and helpful. Everything was great!
This was the first time using Summer In Italy for booking a rental. I had no issues and would book another property through Summer In Italy again. Although we didn't require any assistance before or during our stay, I felt that help was available if needed.
Travel tips
- We especially enjoyed Restaurant La Strada, Che Bonta Restaurant and Hosteria Il Pino. Bar del Sole is a great place for coffee, drinks, or gelato!
- A grocery store is located within walking distance.
- An added bonus staying at Villa Gisella B is that you can reach the Path of the Gods without needing to take a bus (as long as you don't mind walking up many stairs!).

Location and terrace are just stunning
May 2023 - Wonderful wonderful property. The location and terrace are just stunning but the inside of the villa is also fab. The little touches - everything that you need - such thoughtful touches.
We just could not believe our luck that we found such a fantastic villa on the Amalfi Coast! Despite the truly dreadful weather we had a great 4 days - just to sit and look at the coast line and the lights of Positano as the sun goes down - and what sunsets! Just amazing. Thank you.
Adriana [the owner] is so welcoming and the trolley to take your luggage from the car parking area to the villa is great! Thank you for such a lovely welcome and such a lovely stay
I have been delighted with Summer In Italy. How helpful you have been, thank you.
Travel tips
- A walk through Praiano down to the Marina di Praia - a lovey walk - quite a few steps down and then all the way back up but a very relaxing walk to a beautiful location down by the beach and a few lovely restaurants right on the waters edge.
- Take time to stop and just look out on the view
- The Mirante Cafe bar near the beach is great fun - cocktail bar really (you can buy wine!) but great music playing and great view.

Very clean, beautifully appointed, comfy bed, sweeping views of the Mediterranean and all the comforts of home
April 2023 - Villa Gisella B was nothing short of perfection!!! Very clean, beautifully appointed, comfy bed, sweeping views of the Mediterranean and all the comforts of home. The porch under the lemon trees, the veranda from both the bedroom and living room was so inviting. We spent most of our afternoons relaxing, reading and enjoying the views.
The hosts were very friendly and welcomed us with a delicious pear cake! We hope to one day come back!!!
The 90 steps to the top really aren’t bad. There are many opportunities to stop for a moment and catch your breath all while enjoying the view!!! No problem! The restaurant right next door, Restaurant La Strada ended up being our favorite place to eat. There is a small grocery store and pharmacy just a little further down the street. We walked to Bar de Sole every morning for a cappuccino and croissant. This really is such a special place!!!!

Although there are a lot of steps up to the apartment, to be expected on this coastline, there is a delightful luggage ‘lift’ that takes your heavy bags up for you.

Perfect location, wonderful host
July 2022 - It's a perfect location at the beginning of Praiano on the way from Positano. Walking distance to the many fine restaurants in town. Also, easy access to steps that take you down to the small beach below.
The property is fully stocked and has all the amenities including A/C in the bedroom and living room, dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen. The balcony has all the furniture you need to spend the day outside and enjoy the views and nice weather.
The owner is a wonderful host who made us feel right at home and would occasionally provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and home baked goods by basket from her home above our balcony. Thank you Adriana for a wonderful stay, Ciao and hope to see you soon.
The location and town is centrally located between Sorrento and Amalfi, it's a peaceful and quiet location if you prefer that from the busy, crowded hustle of nearby Positano.
Reliable and responsive customer service, all done via online and email. Thank you for providing a credit voucher to our original reservations during COVID and honoring the credit when we decided to re-book 2 years later.
Travel tips
- The public bus system serving the entire Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Salerno is called SITA and is convenient and very reasonably priced. The Tabacchi store (which sells bus tickets) in Praiano was closed during our stay, so we had to use Mobile App (Unico) to schedule and buy bus tickets online. It was a bit cumbersome to setup because after creating an account, you need to authentication the new account via SMS. After several attempts and not receiving the code we realized that foreign numbers needed to call the help desk to obtain the code over the phone. Then finally you need to load a credit card to pay for the tickets.
- This year we experienced also the local bus system called Amalfi Mobility that served the Praiano to Positano route.

The best view of the whole coast!
September 2020 - Villa Gisella was fundamental to make our Amalfi Coast trip so special and unforgettable, first of all thanks to the best view of the whole coast!
You can enjoy a large part of the peninsula, an expanse of water up to the horizon and Positano to the right, which at night is a real nativity scene.
Garden and terrace are divided and therefore enjoyable at different times of the day, following the shade or the sun depending on your needs.
The house is very clean and Adriana and Michela [the owners] were very kind, smiling and taking care of us.
Summer In Italy was a fortuitous and lucky discovery. Fast booking, kind and thoughtful assistance right away by email and WhatsApp.
Travel tips
- The Sita bus stop a few meters away allows you to visit the Amalfi Coast in comfort - you can forget the car.
- Tabacchi store close by to buy bus tickets.

There is not one thing I would change or want in Villa Gisella. It was decorated with so many nice touches. It felt like we were staying in a family members home!
Summer In Italy is the best. I had a lot of fun communicating with them leading up to our trip. They recommended a few car services at my request to transport us from Naples to Amalfi Coast! AMAZING location on the Amalfi Coast!
September 2019 - AMAZING location on the Amalfi Coast! The view from the large balcony was incredible, especially at sunset – where you have a clear view of Positano lit up at night.
We especially loved staying in Praiano. The neighborhood was quiet and not congested like other Amalfi Coast locations. The best part was being directly between Positano and Amalfi. We felt close to everything. The apartment was on the very end of Praiano (on the Positano side), which we loved, as it made it super easy to drive to Positano for dinner every night.
The apartment had an electric lift for our luggage, which we didn’t expect, but were so thankful for. There are stairs to the apartment, but to be expected in the Amalfi Coast.
The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable.
We had everything we needed and more staying at this apartment – including a private parking space, a total lifesaver! Apartment includes a kitchen, dishes, wine glasses, clothes washer, air conditioning and so much more.

- The bus stop is virtually outside and there are lots of restaurants to choose from. I wish we had stayed longer than 3 nights to explore them all!
- It's a short walk to the entrance up to the Path of the Gods. We walked up to the path, then west to Nocelle and down into Positano for a well earned supper.
- Buses run frequently throughout the day and are only a few euro to travel along the entire coastline.

Enjoy? We loved it!
November 2018 - Enjoy? We loved it! Nice place, well kept and beautiful view. We picked this place based on reviews and were not disappointed. Awesome.
"Staff" on site were lovely folks and helpful. Just want to compliment - perfectly clean and everything worked.
Will use Summer In Italy again and will recommend as well.
Travel tips
- Praiano is a much quieter town than nearby Positano or Amalfi, but also fare less "touristy". A quiet and romantic getaway.
- Not many shops but they have most of what you will find in larger towns and slightly better prices.
- Need to be able to climb multiple fights of stairs, and when walking through "town" expect to be very close to roadway.
- Nice shop available for groceries nearby and restaurants fewer here than the larger towns but as good or better.
- Nice find is a tiny place called Restaurant Il Refugio about a half mile walk in direction of Amalfi - more of deli that traditional restaurant but there are a few tables and he does have a nice selection daily of meals that he prepares that were outstanding (and apparently loved by the locals).
- Do not drive here - roads not made for tourists so driver will need to be totally attentive and skilled and passengers may be terrified.
- Buses take a bit of work but worth it.

This was a wonderful 7 days stay
July 2018 - This was a wonderful 7 days stay at Villa Gisella B. The apartment was as advertised, clean and beautifully arranged with breathtaking views across the sea to Positano. Although a number of stairs up to the apartment we would love to again visit Villa Gisella B for another vacation.
Our host Adriana was the lovely person and met us coming off the bus and took us the short walk to the apartment. Adriana also left us fresh fruit, water and baked us a cake during the stay. Everything was absolutely perfect.
I only found Summer In Italy by accident. I would advertise your customer responses widely as the service provided was 1st class. Hopefully we will be able to book again for our next Italian adventure.
Travel tips
- A number of stairs to reach the apartment but worth it for the views.
- A number of local shops providing all the necessary purchases for the holiday.
- It is a walk to the beach which is down a number of steps.
- There are plenty of local buses to travel along the coast from Praiano to Sorrento or Amalfi and enjoy the ITALIAN LIFE STYLE!

Absolutely perfect and I would 100% recommend it
July 2018 - Villa Gisella B was absolutely perfect and I would 100% recommend it. The place itself is fairly spacious, all of the furniture is in good condition, the A/C works very well, and the VIEWS are amazing. My boyfriend and I ate all of our meals on the terrace - the view is even better most restaurants in town that boast a good view. The location is also perfect, very close to the busiest part of Praiano (lots of restaurants, grocers, the beach).
The owner and her daughter are both super sweet and helpful - though they don't speak much English, we were able to get by just fine. At one point we were sitting on the patio eating lunch and a basket was slowly dropped from the floor above (where the owners live) with a freshly baked cake she had made us - it was SUCH a nice surprise and very delicious. I really can't recommend this place more.
My entire experience with Summer In Italy was great - great customer service, always quick to respond. Thanks for everything!!!

May 2018 - After reading all the reviews, I knew we would have a wonderful time at Villa Gisella B... And as so many people have said, it was even better than anticipated! We had the most wonderful nine days and can only say the biggest thank you to Adriana [the owner] for her lovely apartment (impeccably presented and with everything you could possibly need) and for her warm and generous hospitality. It was simply fabulous!
Summer In Italy were wonderful to deal with from start to finish. Communication was prompt, thorough and very friendly and helpful. The booking and payment processes were dealt with very smoothly. Exactly as described
March 2018 - We loved Villa Gisella. It was exactly as described. The view was amazing. We did not have the greatest weather but still enjoyed the Amalfi Coast.
The owners of the villa could not have been nicer and were always there to answer our questions.
There is a great pulley system that takes your luggage up to the villa as there are a lot of stairs but it is well worth the climb.
The villa was spotless and we were given homemade cake and jam and limoncello also eggs and fruit were there for us.
Summer In Italy seems to have everything very well organized. When we contacted them they responded right away. We would not hesitate to book with Summer in Italy again!
Travel tips
- Praiano is a beautiful little town with friendly people. We were there the last week in March so sadly a lot of restaurants were closed but it was still easy to find some close by.
- There is a grocery store nearby where you can buy everything you need.
- There is a bus stop at the bottom of the stairs and we enjoyed day trips to Amalfi and Positano but were happy we chose Praiano away from the crowds.

We would go back in an instant!
September 2017 - We loved Villa Gisella B, we would go back in an instant! It is super clean, all the amenities you needed were available, just like back home in Canada. The terrace has the best view we have every experienced for such a great price too. Quite a few steps to the house, but you somewhat get used to them after a few days. We definitely would go back... Just need to put some more money on the side as quickly as possible!
The owner Adriana and her family were the most welcoming people. They will provide you with all kinds of information on things to do there.
Had a great experience with your company. My son had used Summer In Italy for his honeymoon back 10 years ago. We would do it again. Thank you so much.
Travel tips
- Buses are so accessible. This location is so convenient to all the other towns in the vicinity. Bus top is right on the main road in front of the house.
- Next time we would go middle of September. Found it too hot end of August/beginning of September.
- Must visit Ravello which is near Amalfi. So so magical. Will never forget that place.
- Must visit Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento and Ravello for sure.
- Great hiking area... Also a must do.
- Would not recommend this place for small children. Streets are too narrow to walk. Not too many open play areas for them.

We loved the location and the view!
August 2017 - Villa Gisella B was fantastic. We loved the location and the view! The air conditioning worked fast and helped us to recover after being out in the heat. The kitchen was just what we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is small, but everything worked well. We had plenty of storage. We were lucky to be there for the last day of a five day celebration. Fireworks were set off above the church and we had a perfect view from the balcony. We will stay here again!
The owners are very kind -- our luggage was sent up via a pulley system so we did not have to carry it up the stairs, brilliant! The owners left water, coffee, fruit, and tomatoes for us.
We loved working with Summer In Italy. Everyone is helpful and very responsive. We felt like we had a local partner that took away anxiety. The booking process was very easy. Communication is excellent! I will use Summer In Italy on our return to Italy.

What a wonderful stay!
June 2017 - What a wonderful stay! We had the pleasure (I should say the chance) to stay for 7 days at Villa Gisella B at the end of June. Everything was even better than expected and we had high hopes because after all, this is the Amalfi Coast!
The villa itself is a very modern, clean and comfortable apartment with a large terrace overlooking the Amalfi Coast. It offers great views of Positano, the town just North of Praiano. You never get tired of looking at the coast, the sea and the boats below (yes, the property has a great view from above because it is situated on a hill side). Kitchen has everything you need. We had breakfasts and dinners at Villa Gisella B, eating on the outdoor terrace of course. Bedroom is large and has a very comfortable king size bed. Large French doors in the bedroom and living/dining room opens on the terrace. They were always left open when we were there, bringing in fresh air from the sea and the songs of seabirds. In fact, our stay at Villa Gisella B was so pleasant that we only want to come back.
Our host Adriana is the most charming lady. She is so welcoming. The minute you meet her, you feel at home. She wants you to enjoy your stay and discreetly does everything to make it perfect. When we arrived, delicious fruits and vegetables from her garden plus eggs from her own chickens, were waiting for us in the kitchen. This was repeated throughout the week. Adriana even made us a delicious lemon cake one day. Thanks Adriana!
Communication was great with Summer In Italy. I received many emails providing me with all the details we needed for our stay in Praiano. The Summer In Italy website is very users friendly and makes it very easy to make a choice in the abundant listing. The description that was given for Villa Gisella B was very accurate. I decided to book with Summer In Italy because I had the feeling I could trust them. I was absolutely right. Thank you!
Travel tips
- Down the stairs from Villa Gisella B is the Sita bus stop.
- A short walk South on the main road (about 5 minutes from the property) gets you to a small grocery store that has most of what you need for your stay. This is where we bought our bread, bufala cheese, porchetta, prosciutto, herbs, oil, wine, etc. With Adriana's eggs, fruits and vegetables this was all we needed. Don't forget, you are in Italy, you eat Italian. Buon appettito!!!
- Driving on the Amalfi Coast is something you may want to avoid. Traffic is heavy with cars, trucks, scooters, buses, bikes and people (there's no sidewalks). Roads are very narrow with cliffs on one side, precipice on the other. Parking is scarce if not non-existent so, the bus is a good option.
- Sita Bus serves the whole coast and are quite efficient. Riding it is an attraction by itself. You have to ride it to believe it! There is also a small local bus line serving Praiano and Positano. In both cases, bus tickets are very cheap. On the negative side, theses buses are very popular so, a lot of people uses them. Quite often you have no seating left and must stand for the ride.

We highly recommend this perfect paradise
June 2017 - We stayed here for 8 days in early June and loved it! The view is second to none, with fantastic views of Positano and the sea. We dined on our terrace numerous times as the view is so beautiful. The patio terrace is covered with lemons and just dreamy, with the views of the sea. Villa Gisella B is an absolute GEM. We highly recommend this perfect paradise.
The owners, Michela and Adriana, live above and manage your stay and are available to you if you so wish, otherwise leaving you to your own devices - the perfect balance! Fresh eggs, fruit and marmalade were gifted to us on arrival and a cake made and more lovely fresh fruit during our stay. Everything was great - the owners have thought of everything to make your stay here idyllic. Bus timetables, books, all kitchen facilities you could possibly need and more. A family welcome - they were absolutely lovely! Thank you Adriana and Michela for hosting us. We really want to get back one day.
Well, Summer In Italy found us the perfect place, so it will be the place for us to go to again when we next visit Italy - wherever that may be. Everything was fantastic. Very many thanks for securing the perfect property and we look forward to booking with you again.
Travel tips
- We loved Praiano, its a relaxed area, much cheaper than the other areas, and not at all noisy - the perfect location to explore the Amalfi Coast with 2 beaches, plenty of restaurants nearby and easy access to Positano (local bus and SITA bus), Sorrento and Amalfi (SITA bus).
- We hired a moped for 24 hours (€55) to see the Coast - a perfect way to do so as you don't get caught up in any traffic (there wasn't much in early June).
- There are 2 local grocery shops that have most things.
- Of the restaurants, we loved Criscito'S up the hill - a very funny waiter there who made our night and the food was lovely. The pizza is the most amazing pizza I've ever eaten in Praiano - I did not get bloated once as the bread is light and airy.
- We got takeaway pizzas from Restaurant La Strada and from Che Bontà - all lovely.
- Although we didn't swim in Marina di Praia, it looks beautiful. There are numerous restaurants around there and a nice place to have a cocktail or drink of your choice.
- Furore fjord beach is further on and absolutely stunning - definitely worth a visit and a swim in.
- The lady in the Praiano Tourist Office is very straight and almost scary :) but will give you all the information you ask for!
- I'm dreaming of this place now writing it - after your day exploring it's the perfect place/area to come back to with the quietness and peace. There is too many things to write about. Really, it is just amazing and will last in our memories for ever (hopefully).

The stay was perfect
June 2017 - We stayed in multiple places in Italy and Villa Gisella B by far was the very best. If we could do it over again, we would have stayed longer and stay the entire trip at this house instead of moving to other locations.
The apartment was well stocked with everything you need including fresh eggs, lemons, peaches, and homemade jam made by Adriana [the owner]. It has one of the best views on the Amalfi Coast, with perfect views of Positano and the island of Capri off in the distance. It was located conveniently near the bus stop, approximately halfway between Amalfi and Positano. You can walk to the beach or to a few stores, restaurants and gelato shops. We were sad to have had to leave and are already thinking about when we might return again. If we do, we will definitely be staying at Villa Gisella B. The stay was perfect.
Praiano is a quaint little town that is much quieter than Positano and arguably has a better view. What we loved the most was that it was a truly authentic Italian experience. In Praiano you are away from some of the hustle and bustle of the tourist town of Positano and this let's you experience even more of the Italian culture.
Adriana was an amazing host and the property was better than the pictures show. Adriana wanted to make us feel welcome and one day she surprised us with some of the best Italian desserts we have had. Thanks so much for your hospitality and for sharing your amazing place with us. We hope to see you again in the near future.
Easy way to book accommodations and great communication. Will definitely use Summer In Italy again.
Travel tips
- Our favorite restaurant of the entire trip was Restaurant La Strada and was located 50 meters away with incredible food and great prices.
- You can walk to the historic church in the evenings where the bell sounds every hour and find the plaza full of Italian families and friends playing soccer and socializing. The church plaza in the evenings is a great place for experiencing the locals.
- There is no wait time at the restaurants (in May) and you have Italian waiters who take pride in offering excellent service and authentic food.

Perfect location in Praiano!
May 2017 - Perfect location in Praiano! Villa Gisella B is a spacious apartment with an excellent terrace and stunning view. Bathroom is small but clean and everything you need is there. Kitchen well equipped, including dish washer and washing machine. Living room with TV is fine however we nearly always used the spacious terrace. Bedroom is good with clean and somewhat hard beds. Walls don't seem that big because talking from neighbors can be heard. Overall Villa Gisella B scored very high on our personal rating list!
Adriana [the owner] is great!! Very welcoming, friendly, helpful and a warm personality. She has been treating us like family and always available when needed. The marmalade, fresh eggs and fresh bread she baked for us for breakfast was a top treatment. Thanks for making our stay so wonderful!!
Contact with Summer In Italy was great. Perfect provision of information, keeping us well informed and contact works very quickly. Well done and compliments for guiding your guests in such a positive way!
Travel tips

One of the best places ever
April 2017 - Stayed here Easter and the following week 2017.
We have been renting week-long stays across Europe for over 17 years - and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
It is the Amalfi Coast - so you will need to walk. Praiano is a fantastic spot - Positano is the next town (toward Sorrento) - but it is MUCH quieter. Positano was mayhem over Easter - Praiano - with all the good things it has - felt much more relaxed and was just easier to navigate.
The bus stop was - literally - right outside the gate to the apartment (down the hill).
Our host was one of the nicest and most helpful (and generous) we've had I think in all our travels - there are many good hosts in places to stay across Europe. She helped us out when we experienced a bit of car trouble - was available at any time - and so helpful and friendly. Really marvelous.
The apartment has a fantastic view, a really well equipped kitchen (we tend to like to cook for ourselves when we travel) - really comfortable and 'homey'. It wasn't luxury accommodation - in the sense that the fittings were all marble, and brand new - but it was very clean, VERY comfortable, fantastic view up the coast to Capri. This is HIGHLY recommended.
Travel tips
- It sits in the middle of the 'Path of the Gods'. You can go out the front door - straight up the hill (about 90 minutes) and join the path at the midway point. This was better than having to drive to an entry point.
- Go to a large Supermarket at either Sorrento - or outside of the Amalfi Coast before you come. Having said that - the small store at Praiano has all the basics - and is not expensive. It was better stocked than I thought it would be considering its size.
- If you drive - a SMALL car. We had a Renault Twingo - and - seriously - so much better. You don't really need a car - the buses are regular (but sometimes you need patience because they are packed) - and you will need to walk (its a rocky sheer coast). A car is not necessarily a good thing to have if you intend to just do the coastal route - but if you intend to go for some drives inland a little - then it would be handy. We hired a car for a week - but when we saw what a nightmare parking was at the coastal towns - we didn't take it. We caught the bus 3 days out of 7.

- Did a day trip to Le Vigne di Raito where we had a tour of vineyard and amazing lunch, 4 courses prepared by the delightful owner. About an hour + depending on traffic. Well worth it.

LOVED IT!!!
June 2016 - We LOVED our stay at Villa Gisella B!!! The 180 degree view of the sea overlooking Positano is spectacular. The two terraces are spacious and comfortable. We loved the Amalfi lemon tree and pergola on the small terrace. You have a view of the sea from every room.
The property is spotlessly clean and very well organized thanks to the owner Adriana. LOVED IT!!!
Outstanding recommendation by Valeria! I told her our criteria and she immediately directed me to Villa Gisela B. Thank you Valeria!!! All your communication from Summer In Italy was spot on.
Travel tips
- This apartment is ideal for one couple!
- Praiano is a great town, very walkable, more affordable and has more of a "locals" feel vs Positano, which is very commercial and touristy.
- To really experience the town, hike all 8 of the "NaturArte" trails. Especially # 8 that ends at artist Paolo Sandulli's studio located in an old tower fort on the beach next to the nightclub Africana. Also loved # 1 trail to the Convento, is the ascent that leads to the "Walk of the Gods" trail.
- Our favorite side trips were Ravello, Capri and Positano.
- Try to fly into Naples vs Rome... Saves a lot of time and hassle.

Very special: top appointments OMG vistas, great owner!
May 2016 - We've been in eleven - mostly by the week - self cater facilities thus far in our almost full season driving tour throughout Italy. From top (Alps and Lakes) to bottom (finishing in Salerno, Basilicata, Calabria and Puglia) in this latest immersion (leaving out the whole middle part as I'd soon enough need a publisher) and recalling many others over a lifetime, we've never had better vistas than afforded in Villa Gisella.
It's very possibly our best in that sense but such a thing is hard to admit to oneself. How does one compare an Audrey Hepburn to a Sophia Loren, Bach to Beethoven, Cinema Paradiso to On the Waterfront, buffalo mozzarella to aged provolone? Ed. Comment: Enough already!
Many of the smaller appointments within the apartment itself were above any anticipated relative to the price paid. There's parking and an ingenious rope elevator luggage system included: two great bonus in the area saving so many euros, much hard work and otherwise unavoidable tedium). Additionally, fabulous Adriana and her sweetest daughter Michela [the owners] could not be kinder, more generous and helpful with their delightful little bonus surprises and support.
I hesitate to detail examples save to say they included a variety of delightful tasty edibles, not wanting to ruin the surprises for anyone coming. One night while sleeping there was a strong thunderstorm knocking out the electricity for a bit. Automatically generated light went on in the kitchen so we could see whatever was needed. How many places provide such a service, one among so many extras?
The vistas could not be better. We love Praiano because it has all the strengths we want of the Costa Amalfitana, but with far less heavy tourism, giving it a warm paese feel, and absolutely among the best vistas anywhere. We looked out to a blue green sea below, from THREE separate balconies in your apartment, this one speckled in flowering desert plants, another shaded by lemon tree arbors, and a third perfect option for outdoor dining or whatever from high above.
One of our finer meals in Italy was but two doors away as well. Could one do better for the price? In my mind that is very difficult to imagine and we heartily recommend Villa Gisella as a base for an Amalfi stay, Our next door delightful neighbors in Praiano for the week have been coming for extensive stays over many years and will continue to do so.
Grazie tanto: Adriana and Michela for a great life memory!
Travel tips
- Parking the car for most or all of the week and using the inexpensive bus options as we and they opted made life much easier as well.
- You will not need a car to stay at Villa Gisella B. If you do, parking is a ten minute walk, price included: great bargain.
- A final tip: we ate only lighter lunches out and saved dinners for at home cooking or Praiano suppers which has so many proximate excellent options, including two places a bit further in town that will pick up and drive diners home following a reservation if so requested. Driving to and from dinner on the coast is absolutely unnecessary and often a bit problematic with parking fees, prudent beverage discipline and time factored.

Better than the pictures!
April 2016 - Villa Gisella B was better than the pictures. The location was perfect and the view was out of this world. Praiano was the perfect place to stay for our trip to the Amalfi Coast, with a good couple of restaurants within a short walk, and both Positano and Amalfi within a 10 min drive for a more loud and bustling experience.
I am already missing waking up to that view...
Wonderful experience with Summer In Italy!
Travel tips
- As almost everyone mentioned, Villa Gisella B is a good walk up. But you will get used to it after a couple of times.
- The parking is at approximately 800 meters (880 yards) and that causes a little inconvenience, but everyone is so nice that it hardly matters.

October 2015 - We couldn't believe our luck when we set eyes on this little piece of paradise there, in Praiano.
There are no words to express the experience we have lived. Peace and tranquility softly framed by a landscape that every morning, when we woke up, enraptured us giving the pure joy that results from the insight that such a dream does exist and it is there, on hand.
For my wife and I it was absolutely exceptional, the warm welcome of Adriana and Michela, together with the friendly courtesy of Michele made our stay unique and unforgettable.
Sincere thanks to you all for sharing this little bit of paradise with us. The house and the service are perfect, do not change anything!

September 2015 - Villa Gisella B is in an ideal location with both terraces presenting mesmerizing views as are the views from inside this perfectly appointed property.
We've stayed at numerous villas in Positano and Praiano over the last 16 years and Villa Gisella B ranks up there as one of our favorites.
Foremost on the list of why we love this villa is Adriana [the owner] and her family. They were a joy from day 1 thru day 14. Great, generous family. Keep up the great work! We loved all you did for us and cannot thank you enough.
Summer In Italy process - from beginning to end - was professional, prompt, and spot on. Thank you for allowing us to discover this wonderful family and property.

August 2015 - Had a great stay at Villa Gisella B.
The apartment was well equipped - spacious, good air con, good kitchen (including dishwasher and washing machine). Also has parking although this is offsite.
Villa Gisella B had one of the best views I have ever had - we enjoyed watching the sun set over Positano from the balcony every night, and I was genuinely gutted to have to leave once the week was up. The balcony is reasonably private as well.
Would recommend.
The owner spoke limited English but was still pretty easy to communicate between us. She was helpful when we needed her, but didn't impose on us.
Booking process was easy and all information provided by Summer In Italy was detailed and informative.
Travel tips
- The village the apartment is located in - Praiano - is lovely - quite small but with plenty of choice of places to eat and it's own beach. Much pleasanter than its neighbours Positano and Amalfi which are much busier (although still lovely and worth a trip).

August 2015 - We thought that Villa Gisella B was excellent!! Would return, if our travels took us that way again.
The unit was spotlessly clean and well appointed with lots of personal little touches that made us feel comfortable. We are 2 adults, in our late 50s -early 60s, traveling for the first time to Italy and this was by far one of the best places we stayed.
I would highly recommend Villa Gisella B to anyone visiting Praiano.
Our hostess Adriana made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived and had even put some fresh fruit and vegetables into the fridge. Well done Adriana and family we really enjoyed our stay.
We were extremely happy with the contact we had with Summer In Italy. All the staff members we corresponded with at Summer In Italy were helpful and very accommodating. Thank you all. We would also use you again.
Travel tips
- There are approximately 90 steps leading from the road level to the front door, but healthy, active people should have no problems with that considering that nearly all of this village is built into a hill/mountain. :)
- Engage with the locals and enjoy what you see, the views are simply amazing!

August 2015 - We stayed in Villa Gisella B for 10 days in August this year, we had the best time.
The apartment was fabulously clean and the views were amazing. Entering the balcony from both the lounge and the bedroom was fantastic, the view of Positano was breathtaking, literally, you see the whole Positano bay area.
Amazing. Loved it. Thoroughly recommend.
The owners were so helpful and thoughtful, they brought us a home made lemon drizzle cake. Wonderful!
Travel tips
- Steep steps the only issue but we didn't find it a problem at all, there are approximately 90 in all.

July 2015 - Villa Gisella B is located in the beginning of Praiano and situated a few steps up.
The view is simply breathtaking. You won't even want to go out anymore but simply sit out on the balcony enjoying the view. The kitchen had the essentials (oils, salt, pepper, etc.) so it was easy for us to some days just cook for ourselves.
The beach is quite a hike and not a traditional beach. However it is (in my opinion) the better beach with more room and some bars. After a few days you won't even notice the hundreds of steps going down. Down there you will be rewarded with very clear and deep water. They offer a number of things like stand up paddling and kayaking.
The owners are absolutely lovely. We received a homemade fresh lemon cake on our first morning. Simply delicious! Also homemade marmalades!
Overall this was a great trip, with a great place to stay!
Travel tips
- We rented a car at the airport and took it to Praiano ourselves. I would not recommend this unless you are very confident in your driving skills. The roads are very narrow and curvy and Italian driving is somewhat tricky to get used to (coming from Germany at least). If you do decide to do this, it is a fun drive and a great view and you get the chance to make stops to enjoy the view and take some pictures.
- Getting to Praiano is a bit tricky. However if you want to use public transport it is possible and the owners are happy to help you with heaps of information beforehand.

May 2015 - Villa Gisella B is one of the best apartments we have ever stayed at.
Everything was 1st class, equipment, furnishings all in all a super holiday and we would would have no hesitation in returning on some future occasion.
It was central for sightseeing without a car as it is on the Sita bus route. There are a number of stairs to the apartment, but we did not find it a problem.
The owner was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had the most pleasant holiday and would say to Mrs Adriana - just keep on doing what you are doing, it was perfect.
I can't now remember how we found Summer In Italy - just searching on the web I think, but we received all the help and assistance from Luca and Anita we needed and more beside, thank you both we had a truly memorable holiday.
Travel tips
- The views from the apartment are the absolutely fantastic, across the bay to Positano, Li Gilli Islands and Capri.
- There are 2 butchers shops, a fish monger, and several supermarkets in Praiano, many of which have a delivery service.
- There are lots of restaurants to be found in Praiano to suit all pockets.
- The apartment is situated on the main route along the coast - you can travel all the way to Amalfi one way and to Sorrento the other very cheaply the most cost effective way to travel.
- We visited Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, the top of Vesuvius, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello independently without using the expensive tour packages, very easily.
- The only expense we went to, was that we used Amalfi Car for transfers from Naples Airport to Villa Gisella B and return. They were fantastic, and extremely reliable - if anyone is travelling to the Amalfi Coast on a budget, I would suggest that the transfer is something you do not cut back on and I would use Amalfi Car again (they took all the stress of arrival and departure away at around 180 euros return - a bargain!).

August 2014 - We had 7 glorious nights staying in this absolutely beautiful apartment.
Villa Gisella B was fully stocked with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
The owners went above and beyond their call of duty answering any questions we had, providing fresh produce from their garden (the homegrown lemons were the best we have ever tasted) and making nice surprise for us.
Don't change a thing! Everything is perfect the way it is.

Nothing could be better.
The house was equipped with everything and all electronic equipments were new. This house was far above our expectations.
The family that rented this house was also very nice and gave us some of their specialities!
We enjoyed our stay and if going back to the Amalfi Coast it will certainly be to Villa Gisella B.
Very good help form Summer in Italy!
