September 2010 - Our stay at Villa Floriana F was wonderful. The view from the patio was breathtaking.
We enjoyed meeting other guests from England, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The Pizzeria next door had very good service and food, as well as the Bar Lindicatore a few doors down.
We used this as a base to tour everywhere from San Gimignano to Cinque Terre. We saw hundreds of bicyclists including the Italian ISD Team in San Baronto.
The Villa is very clean and well maintained. Sofia and Maria are two of the most charming, helpful, and hard working hosts you will ever meet.
San Baronto may not be for everyone but if you want a a place that is removed from the bustle of Florence, this is it.
When we come back to Italy we will plan to spend time at Villa Floriana.
Luca, we booked with you because of your prompt responses to our inquiries. We spent over a year planning our month long stay in Italy. When we booked Villa Floriana F we had no idea I would be as fabulous as it is. Your presentation does not, in our opinion, do it justice.
As for Summer in Italy, we could not be more pleased. Your continued communication throughout, from booking until we returned home, was very professional. I will say that of all the bookings we made in Italy you were the best by far.
We will consult you on any future travel plans in Italy and have already recommended you to friends.
Molto bene. Grazie, Luca.
“Amazing! When reality surpasses expectations... that's a job well done! :-) Thank you so much for your very kind words, they are truly appreciated and a great reward.„
Travel tips
- You can go to the COOP Super Market in Lamporecchio and stock up on food and necessities. It's only 3 Km.
- If you go to Vinci from Lamporecchio, do not miss the fruit stand of I Balzi on the left side of the road. He and his lovely wife are the most charming people. Ask for a tour of his winery. Meeting them was one of the high lights of our Italian trip.
- Everything to the west is easily accessible by way of the A11 and A12 Autostradas.

July 2010 - We enjoyed our stay. It was clean and properly in the flat, as well as in and around the pool-area.
Travel tips
- Try to go to Pistoia, not Florence in the most busy tourist season. Pistoia is cool and slow.

August 2008 - Villa Floriana F was fantastic! The apartment was clean and stylish, the terrace was very large, set against the mountain side. San Baronto was quiet and picturesque. The owner, Maria, and Sofia who helps her gave us a wonderful warm welcome, after a tiring and long journey from London. They even provided us with some cold drinks. We soon became pleasantly acquainted and were so impressed by their friendliness and service we left them gifts at the end of our stay.
Our only minor disappointment was the view from our terrace, it was restricted by the apartment in front. However, the benefits were that we were not directly overlooking the road. Another minor criticism would be that other guests would use the back of our terrace to get downstairs instead of using the internal lift or stairs. The pool was fine, it had a lovely view, a net should have been provided for the residents to fish out the few leaves or insects that fell in over night. Sometimes customers for the pizza house next door used the reserved parking lot, even though there was a residents only sign.
We will definitely come back, we would probably take the apartment with the view next time or the one on the top floor. Thank you to Maria and Sofia xx
Your service was brilliant, we will use you service again!
Travel tips
- Fab apartment, clean, very welcoming, child friendly.
- You definitely need a car to get about, although we survived on the local shop for produce, we made a point of not going to the supermarket! And that's coming from a mum of a 6 month old baby and a 7 yr old!
- Get advice from the owner Maria about where to go. Pinocchio park and gardens, Red Lobster restaurant for the best steak in the world (and we have travelled it!) in Collodi, get a train from Pistoia for Firenze. Drive to Viareggio, Lucca, Pietra Santa. Do visit Vinci, Leonardo's home town.
- Always book the local restaurants in high season, otherwise you won't get to eat before 10 pm.
- We found the food good at the pizza bar next door, but the staff were unfriendly, so after the second visit we did not go back.
