August 2011 - We had a super time here. The pictures and description were 100% accurate. The setting (up in the mountains) is really lovely, the pool is great, and the staff could not have been nicer.
Great little cafe next door and had very nice meals at the restaurant across the street.
Travel tips
- You definitely need a car if you're staying here. If traveling with kids, the zoo is Pistoia (20 mins away) is a great, kid-focused day trip.

August 2010 - Yes everything was very good. The furnishings were a little dated, the kitchen appliances were limited (couldn't really cook an evening meal with only two small hob rings) and the sliding doors in the shower were fragile and the toilet was cramped.
Lovely view especially having the top terrace and patio.
Quite few local restaurants, more than we thought, which was good.
We were very pleased with the dealings with Summer in Italy and felt we were well informed. We found Summer in Italy through a web search. Thank you.
Travel tips
- The bus and train services are good and easy to use to visit places. We visited Florence (Firenze).

July 2010 - What a wonderful location for exploring Tuscany -- a winding drive up a mountain but well worth it when you see the views.
The villa has three lovely verandas with seating areas and lounge chairs. Inside is well furnished and clean.
Highly recommended!
The service from Summer in Italy was amazing! I booked with Andrea, who suggested the property when another was unavailable. Andrea promptly answered all my questions, and he and Luca were very efficient with my last-minute booking. Thanks!
Travel tips
- There is a great restaurant right next door, Pizzeria Vittoria. On the other side of the villa is a restaurant we didn't try for dinner but purchased delicious pastries for breakfast. Just down the street is a tiny market for essentials.
- Nearest train station is Pistoia, which we used to travel to Florence.
- Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, and other Tuscan towns make easy driving day trips.

April 2008 - Oh my heavens! You do not want to miss this little town, this great location and the amazing accommodations.
Tell everyone about this wonderful little town of San Baronto, just outside of Pistoia. Tim & I will definitely be going back to this very town, when we visit again.
Thank you, so very much!!
Travel tips
- Rent a car in Florence and drive there, you will need a car.
- The place is great! It's a mom & pop, local place. Very nice people.
- Definitely eat at the village Pizzeria just out the front door to the right, past the parking and up the drive. They open at 19.30, but it is worth the wait (or at least coming from the States when we normally eat around 1800). Oh and either go right at 19.30 or make reservations, it fills up quickly! And the gnocchi, oh my!
