August 2014 - Excellent.
Villa Eloisa is clearly an interesting and much loved traditional family home and not just a commercially furnished place to rent out to paying visitors.
We were living in real Umbria. Brilliantly accessible for interesting places but at night we returned to a proper house in the country. Wonderful. If it simply had a ceiling fan in the kitchen and an English kettle it would be heaven on earth (loved the garden gazebo).
Summer In Italy are brilliant. Human and very responsive. Stay as you are, you are not an anonymous agency and your people shine through very clearly. Thanks. Will use you again.

August 2013 - Positives: We really enjoyed the house especially the gardens, pool and outdoor dining area. There are lots of shaded spaces around the house so you can stay out of the direct sun during the day. The house is conveniently located for touring.
Negatives: The living space could do with more seating for relaxing given that the house can accommodate up to 12 people. The house/kitchen block could do with new fridges. There was a lot of traffic on the road beside the house early in the morning and later around midnight.
Travel tips
- Best supermarket was the Coop in Castiglione del Lago: it is closer than the larger centre in Chiusi and just as well stocked.
- Main train Station in Chiusi has good connections to Florence and Rome etc.

July 2013 - We very much enjoyed our stay in Villa Eloisa. The peace and quiet of the location provided the desired tranquility and privacy after our hectic day trips.
The grounds are well kept and pleasing to the eyes. There was plenty of room for the party of 10 people to be comfortable. The common areas (the dining room/kitchen) are beautifully set up.
We were much worried about the absence of air conditioning. However, it was not needed. The temperature inside was very comfortable and at night with the windows open it was pleasantly cool.
The location of the villa is amazing - very close to everything (Orvieto, Siena, Montepulciano, Florence, Assisi, Rome, etc.)
We would highly recommend Villa Eloisa to anyone looking for their Tuscany/Umbria stay.
The staff of Summer in Italy was very helpful and friendly. Prompt responses to the emails and very informative. Everything was arranged efficiently and there were no "surprises". The villa was described accurately and the price was great. We'll definitely do it again!
Travel tips
- Must do - a day trip to Orvieto which is about 30 minutes away - it's a gem! Beautiful scenery, great restaurants, shops, galleries and even a theater.

June 2013 - We could not have been more pleased with Villa Eloisa. It was lovely, clean and well appointed.
The pool and grounds were very well maintained. And the view was amazing.
We found your home charming and want to thank you so much for being part of our wonderful experience in Italy.
Travel tips
- Visit Castiglione del Lago on your first night to get dinner, wine, cheese and basic food stuffs. The town is lovely and only 15 min from the villa.

June 2011 - The villa was nice and the owner very helpful and hospitable.
It was closer to the road than we had imagined and this meant that it was noisier than expected, particularly in the early morning, if your bedroom was in that side of the villa. The kitchen in the main villa was not well equipped although the annexe was much better and we tended to use that and outside for eating.
There were five in our party and it was fine for that number but I think 12 would have found dining and sitting together rather difficult. The garden was very pleasant.
Travel tips
- Take a travel kettle. The kettle that was in the kitchen had no lid and didn't look as if it had been used for a long while.
