July 2023 - LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! Super clean. Incredible views. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room. We traveled with 4 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 children and had plenty of room. Highly recommend.

The owner representative, Carmela, was amazing. She knows everything about Positano and Amalfi!

September 2022 - Our three couples truly enjoyed our stay at Villa Centaura. The villa is large, clean and there was plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine on the terrace after a long day of exploring.

Would love to return some day

June 2022 - We had the best 4 nights. The location is fantastic, restaurants and a super market near by. The view is breathtaking and we would love to return some day.

We were guided around the property on arrival and shown how to work everything. I knew if we had any problems they would be have been addressed but we did not. We appreciated the baby cot as well.

Can’t thank enough Luciana [the owner] and Carmela [the caretaker] and all the Summer In Italy staff for all the advice provided before we landed. I emailed them multiple times and they replied every time with information and advice. Fantastic company, the help given is very much appreciated.

Felt like we were in our own summer home instead of someone else's

June 2022 - Villa Centaura and Summer In Italy were the best choice for our Positano experience! From the booking with Luca to the owner and property manager, the process was smooth and seamless.

The house is perfectly clean and maintained and is right off the street so no carting of luggage up steps. It is located about mid mountain so the walk up and down from the beach is not overwhelming. We usually walked down the steps and back up using the road.

Our group of 5 felt like we were in our own summer home instead of someone else's. Could not recommend any more stronger!

May 2022 - 7 of us stayed for 4 nights and it was such a fantastic place. Lots of bathrooms and more than enough space. The views were incredible.

The host also gave me a gorgeous little ceramic gift when leaving.

Excellent location at street level with an excellent view

April 2022 - We were only there for a short stay but what I can tell you is I would definitely book it again should I return in the future. The location is excellent and the fact that it is at street level is a big plus! The view is excellent! The proximity to restaurants and shopping is good. There's a bus stop just a few steps away from the front door.

For us Americans, the beds could be softer. That's really the only thing I can tell you to improve.

Summer In Italy guys were very kind and easy to work with as well. And the newsletter really helped us prepare for the trip. Thanks so much for getting our vacation off to a great start!

We enjoyed the villa very much

October 2019 - We enjoyed the villa very much - the location was good with it be half way down the hill and just a few steps off the street.

The villa was more spacious than we’d imagined, perfect for the three couples which we were. The car park was convenient, a short walk uphill.

The beach is pebbles, but I enjoyed the water. It’s best to walk first thing in the morning, Positano is so crowded after 10 am.

Summer In Italy have been excellent from my first contact with Luca, assisted by Andrea - should we return to Italy, I would undoubtedly contact Luca for all his assistance and advice. Thank you to you both.

A lovely place to stay!

July 2019 - Villa Centaura is a lovely place to stay! The villa itself is even bigger than the pictures. Our family of 4 only used 2 of the 4 bedrooms. It really is 2 homes in one! The terrace has a beautiful table and a spectacular view (both during the day and at night)!

The location is excellent with restaurants and shops very close by and the steps to the beach are just down the road.

We loved it here and would highly recommend it!

July 2019 - Grazie Luigi and Luciana! Your home was elegant, tastefully decorated, and had spectacular views! The air conditioning was a bonus because it was so HOT.

Better than the online photos

July 2019 - The views from the outside patio, kitchen and bedroom windows and bedroom patio with views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Island of Gallo Lungo were absolutely breathtaking. The on-line photos don’t come close to depicting the true ambiance of the Villa.

The Villa was equipped with EVERYTHING we needed for our trip – plenty of places to sit and eat and chat. The Villa had a unique collection of art, décor and Italian heritage wall and shelf collectibles. One of the rooms on the lower level did not have air conditioning. We were there during the Italy heat wave, but due to the configuration of the Villa and sea breezes we never felt uncomfortable.

The owners Luigi and Luciana and the Summer in Italy contacts Anita and Andrea were superb. They offered good tips on dining, suggestions on transportation and excursions and arranged to meet us VERY EARLY for check-out on our departure date.

The bedrooms are all comfortable and each one has a it’s own bathroom which was good. The kitchen is well equipped and has a homely feel to it. The two terraces are lovely, the small one was good for early morning sunbathing and the other great for eating together.

The location is good although a bit of a walk up from the beach! Altogether a lovely villa that I can highly recommend.

Perfect Positano

April 2019 - This villa and owners were lovely.

One aspect that I had a hard time determining from the pictures and maps was if this villa was centrally located enough for me. I was hoping to be able to walk and find everything we needed. As it turned out the villa was perfectly located about halfway between the beach and the top of the hill where the bus stop is located. Each was easily reached by foot. Food shopping is done locally by foot as well and just around the corner.

September 2018 - The Villa was everything and MORE!! We were 6 women and the Villa was very spacious and clean. If ever we are in Positano again, that's where we'll stay.

July 2018 - My family had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Centaura and I would visit there again without question. The home is exactly as pictured, with breathtaking views and two perfect outdoor terraces. The A/C, though we only had to turn it on a few nights when we were lacking the typical cool sea breeze, was helpful as was the washing machine.

It is right in the middle of two major pathways - one right down to the center of town near the beach and the other to the smaller, beautiful Fornillo Beach. The home is high enough to have amazing views, but low enough on the hill for the walk up and down the stairs to be reasonable. There is a market and several restaurants right in the area just steps outside the door. We used a driver who came recommended to us so our travels to and from Positano were seamless. The check-in and check-out process was easy and on time so there wasn't one hiccup to our entire visit.

I thought Summer In Italy was fantastic - you were responsive and everything was taken care of on time and as promised. Your recommendation for Claudio Lucibello as our driver was excellent. He was a wonderful driver - knowledgeable, professional and kind. Thank you!

This villa was PERFECT!

July 2018 - Absolutely perfect spot for a large group. We had 8 people and it worked out beautifully! 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, 2 terraces overlooking the gorgeous sea - who could ask for more? This villa was PERFECT!

Close to restaurants, the grocery store (tiny but well stocked), and an easy walk to the beach. The villa itself was clean and well equipped, spread out and very private. We loved it!

Summer In Italy was easy to work with - the whole experience was a pleasure. Very easy to get in touch with - they were right there when we checked in and there again when we checked out. Very good company to work with. If I ever get the chance to work with them again, I will! All 8 of us in my party agree! Thank you for a lovely (and easy) experience!

There was so much to appreciate about this lovely home

May 2018 - There was so much to appreciate about this lovely home during our five night stay. There were three couples and we each had our own space in the home with a comfortable bed and bath. The outside terrace with a large and colorful tiled dining table and chairs provided the perfect place to hang out, eat and enjoy the beautiful views. The kitchen was well stocked - you can tell there have been many delicious meals prepared there! Plenty of cookware, dishes and glasses and a big plus was the dishwasher and American coffee maker! This is obviously a family home and there were many personal items throughout that made it feel welcoming and homey.

The location is right off the street, which is a big plus, and if you stay on the street it’s a nice walk down to the main center of town, or you can take the stairs directly to the Spiaggia Grande. Positano was a highlight of our Italy trip and if we ever make it back again I would want to stay in Villa Centaura.

April 2018 - Villa Centaura is a beautiful villa which has everything you need for a lovely stay: wonderful views, peace and quite. The villa has everything you need, apart from a safe which some people would like. It is situated on the main road down to Positano village and beach, where there are not a lot of steps but still a good walk down to get down there. As you know you have to get back up again, but as we were there for only 5 days we managed it. All in all a great time had by all as we were there for my son's wedding.

Summer In Italy where brilliant. They answered all our questions big or small and replied very quickly. If going to Italy again I would without hesitation book with them again, very professional.

Wonderful time and wonderful place

July 2017 - My family loved Villa Centaura. We all had a great time. There was plenty of room. Probably more than we needed! The balconies were very nice and there were flowers everywhere. The views from the balcony and from inside the kitchen and family room were awesome. If we didn't go out to a restaurant, we ordered food from the local grocery store a short walk from our place. Wonderful time and wonderful place.

Summer In Italy is excellent. Right from the start every question I asked was answered and Luca and everyone that answered me was prompt and courteous and couldn't have been nicer. Loved the villa and the location

June 2017 - We so enjoyed our stay at Villa Centaura. We loved the spaciousness, the lovely outside terraces and the location. As another reviewer mentioned, the location on the main street was a distinct advantage. We were within a short walking distance to numerous great restaurants and a market.

The views are stellar and although you're located on a main street the villa was very quiet and private.

This was our first trip to the Amalfi Coast and having picked the villa after seeing the online pictures we weren't sure it would be everything it appeared to be. It was all that you see and more. Would love to go back with another couple or two. Just writing this review is making me nostalgic for our time there. We would definitely stay there again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves in Positano!

Summer in Italy was awesome! We asked them numerous questions before we arrived and they were always very quick to respond. This is so valuable when you're traveling internationally and aren't completely familiar with the area you're going to. We would highly recommend Summer in Italy to anyone vacationing in Italy and plan on using them in the future when we travel to other parts of this beautiful country.

Perfectly located

September 2016 - We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Centaura! The house is perfectly located right on a main road, which if you have been to Positano before you know how rare and important this is. Some homes may be 300 large steps up or down, but the front door of this house is located right off the main road yet it wasn't loud. The views were fantastic and terraces were both great. The home was also very well equipped with everything you could want. We will definitely go back!

Wonderful place to stay

September 2016 - What a fabulous villa. Brilliant location. Views incredible. Even the laundry room has the most amazing view!! We were in Positano for my son's wedding and were a party of 7 adults staying at Villa Centaura. Some of the furniture are obviously antiques, beautiful floors and tiled bathrooms. An absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Luigi and Luciana, the owners, are a really lovely couple and must (quite rightly) be extremely proud of their beautiful home. They were extremely helpful, but never intrusive.

Found Summer In Italy by chance. Excellent service from start to finish. A great team of staff, who are all fluent in English, and who keep you informed of everything. Very professional. Would recommend them highly. I've been the in Travel/Aviation business for over 40 years, and were very impressed by their service and attention to detail.

Very spacious and well designed!

August 2016 - Villa Centaura is very spacious and well designed with privacy for 3 couples. Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of dining space in a fabulous outdoor terrace. The location is street level which makes unloading luggage a breeze. The villa is located at the beginning of the town very close to shops, restaurants and plenty of views. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the heart of the town, all down hill. The steps to the beach are very close and convenient. We enjoyed out stay very much.

Villa Centaura was even better than the photos and completely blew our expectations. We had a group of 6-7 stay comfortably, each room had its own bathroom so it was nice to stay together but still have privacy.

July 2015 - We just returned from a month of travel and a week was in Positano. Villa Centaura is fabulous. The property is large, we were a party of 7 and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, the bathrooms are clean and nice. The sheets and towels are that of a home not a hotel.

Villa Centaura takes you away from the busy hustle of Positano. It's peaceful and easy to relax in. The bonus is that it enters on the street, its accessibility is excellent and its walk ability to the beach is good (about 10-12 min walk to the Spiaggia Grande di Positano, in town).

We, as a group, loved it and would return given the opportunity.

I felt we had great service from Summer In Italy.

May 2015 - Villa Centaura was without a doubt the best place I ever rented for a vacation.

The view was incredible. The location could not be beat. It was just above the fray, but close enough to walk to everything, either by the winding street or by the stairs. But even better --- most of the best restaurants were right nearby.

The place is HUGE. There are four bedrooms. Three of them are big enough for couples. One is small for one. The terraces are amazing.

The owners are so kind and the manager of the property was easy to communicate with. They even recommended a taxi driver which was very helpful.

Summer In Italy was highly recommended by many of our friends. Your attention to detail and communication skills were excellent. It was an amazing vacation and an amazing villa.

For visitors who have not visited Positano before, I would highly emphasize the on-street entrance. Many other homes in Positano would require 50-100 steps with luggage! This home was very convenient, easy to access and had incredible views!

August 2013 - A great location, right on Viale Pasitea, with no stairs to the main door! Close walk to beach and shops.

We stayed in the villa with three other couples and we all had our own personal space. Great atmosphere with lots of books and other interesting things dotted around. Great views from all rooms.

June 2013 - We loved Villa Centaura. The views were amazing. Most importantly, it's at street level. In Positano, many villas and hotels are hundreds of stairs away from the street. Being at street level was a huge plus. The walk to town and beach was beautiful and downhill. The walk back wasn't too bad for the grownups and kids. My 70 year old parents opted for the bus which they enjoyed.

The caretakers, Carmela and Luigi, were a pleasure too.

When visiting the Amalfi coast definitely stay in Positano! This villa was perfect! Dealing with Summer In Italy was great too!

June 2013 - This was a wonderful place for a group to vacation. We had both our grown children and some friends and there was ample room for everyone.

The villa is very large and all bedrooms have privacy. Kitchens very well appointed and if you are a reader in any one of several languages, you will be in heaven! Beautiful books everywhere! If you want to keep the doors open all the time to enjoy the amazing view, remember your bug spray!!! And you will want to keep the doors and windows open because the view is surreal. There was AC in the villa but we didn't turn it on even once.

May 2013 - Villa Centaura was an excellent vacation property. It's location makes it easy to get to and easy to walk to the various restaurants and shops of Positano. While the trip to the beach is lengthy and I'm sure during high season, crowded, there are steps that can be taken which get you off the beaten path.

Three of the bedrooms are very nice, the 4th is very small.

Overall, we had an amazing vacation, in the comforts of Villa Centaura. The hosts also have a relationship with two restaurants for a small discount and this helped.

July 2012 - Villa Centaura is a beautiful, homely villa with stunning views and out of the general hustle and bustle of down town Positano. We had plenty of space and everything was very thoughtfully arranged. We loved it.

To and from the beach there are over 500 steps [local bus available]. We were all a lot fitter after 2 weeks!

Summer In Italy offered excellent service. Everything was very efficient and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Would certainly book with Summer in Italy again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

The villa has windows in every room that look out over the Mediterranean. The terrace is lovely. The kitchen has everything one needs. The bedrooms are on the sea side and we all slept well.

The location is perfect. A nice walk through the streets to the beach. There are good restaurants very near by and a grocery store within easy walking distance.

The owners and their manager are so helpful and very generous with advice and help.

There were six of us and there was plenty of room. We all hated to leave and all agreed that we are going back to the Villa again.

August 2011 - Villa Centaura is a large, beautifully decorated villa in a great central location in Positano where you can walk up or down the main road to get everywhere. It's an easier walk than taking the steep uneven steps. There is a nice family run food market down the road.

There are two amazing terraces, with excellent views and a large custom table to enjoy a meal. We had 8 people and everyone had enough privacy and places to read and relax.

We loved having a clothes washer, although it was smallish to serve 8 people. Kitchen is large and well equipped. We enjoyed the many books in both English and Italian. We read a few! No need to carry heavy books to Italy! We felt wonderfully surrounded by beauty, art and intellectual pursuits. The air conditioning worked well and was welcome after a day walking in the summer heat.
