If you are looking for only a few steps Villa Begonia will be ideal for you

June 2018 - If you are looking for only a few steps Villa Begonia will be ideal for you, a lift to the beach and the beach restaurant. We chose this villa as we are elderly and looking for minimal steps, very rare along the Amalfi Coast.

The pool is not the largest but perfectly adequate for cooling down and easy in the middle of the night if you fancy a quick dip in the humid dark hours. The terrace is only able to accommodate two sun beds, but there is a two seat sofa beside the pool for extra seating if there are two couples and ample comfortable arm chairs that can be very easily moved outside if necessary. A dining table with four chairs and umbrella is also on the terrace. The kitchen is just adequate as the preparation area is limited, caravans come to mind, but the dining table is right behind you.

Travel tips

  • A supermarket is 400 meters down hill and in the morning you pass a ‘fish-monger’ where the freshest fish is available and looked attractive, all very Italian.
  • We stayed for one week and walked to the supermarket regularly, it carried all the basics. Caution is the order of the day when venturing to the supermarket, I walked towards all oncoming traffic and stopped several times to let vehicles of ALL sizes pass, after all you are walking the ‘Amalfi Coast’.
  • We went on two trips, both excellent, private boat to Capri and were picked up and dropped off on the wharf at the beach restaurant, made the trip so much more enjoyable, also a private tour of Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, well organized and excellent day out.
  • A water taxi to Positano from the beach wharf is a great way to get there and a lot of fun, same price as getting a taxi and less fun.

Perfetto!

September 2017 - Villa Begonia is what an Amalfi Coast quiet vacation should be. Perfetto!

The folks at Summer In Italy are true professionals and a dream to work with. Responsive and attentive to everything. Will definitely book again and next time, for a 30 day period if available to us.

Travel tips

  • Live like locals and enjoy the amenities in the nearby village.
  • Quite simply, just zen at the villa and enjoy the property and the view. It really is all you need for a truly spectacular Southern Italy experience.

September 2015 - We enjoyed Villa Begonia tremendously.

It was further out of Positano than we expected which turned out to be an advantage for us. If somebody would like to be in the center of Positano then the villa is a little far out.

Travel tips

  • Try the great restaurant by the beach downstairs!

Very good

September 2015 - Villa Begonia is in a great location with a really funky funicular railway system getting you to your door. This particular villa is a bit exposed to several others around it, and less private as a result. The inside is excellent and roomy for 2 of us, but obviously it is intended for 4. The plunge pool is deep and has no shelf or chair to sit on, so you cannot sit in it effectively. Everything inside and out in great condition. We had a great week in Positano.

Staff that helped us on site were fantastic and really nice.

Fantastic, everything was easy with Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Bar Internazionale is only around 500 meters down the hill towards town, great spot to visit each morning for creme croissants...
  • Even though the road is narrow we walked to town centre every morning and braved the traffic, a great experience and we met many people as a result of doing this.
  • Positano taxi - Vincenzo Fusco is a very funny man and very good English, he was our ride home each night from town centre.
  • Restaurants by waters edge in town are awesome way to spend a day.

Fantastic

July 2015 - We really enjoyed Villa Begonia and had pretty good access to a beach and the private pool which was wonderful.

Positano was relatively close and we enjoyed being slightly away from the main town. It was super peaceful and very quiet.

There was also enough to cook some food at home and enjoy a meal overlooking the Amalfi coast. Some of the best parts of our holiday.

June 2015 - Villa Begonia is a lovely place to stay. We loved the private swimming pool and private beach and of course the view.

The villa is a little bit out of town but we found the best restaurants were also out of town eg, Next 2 and Da Vincenzo, both really lovely. We got very fit doing the walk a couple of times a day! Taxis are readily available if you are put off the steep climb.

Summer In Italy was great, I would recommend them And book with them again. Thank you.

May 2015 - Villa was beautiful and clean. Great views.

Having a lift a must. Owner very cooperatiecially with our delayed arrival.

Could have used a separate side table to hold kitchen items. There is room for one. An additional dish towel would be nice. Great shower.

First couple days front view to sea obstructed by overgrowth. I made a comment to traveling companion. Next morning someone cutting them down.

Knew the property was not in Positano proper, didn't think it would matter, but in reality it did. Frustrating part was that a nearby hotel had a shuttle but would not let us use even if we offered to pay. Ironically they'd take our money in the restaurants.

I am very pleased with your company in every way. Thank you, Luca and all who were involved with this booking.

Thanks for an opportunity to share some additional info, Sandi! We are often reported that the nearby hotel does not allow external guests onto their shuttle bus, even if they offer to pay. We investigated, and found that the reason is connected to insurance. Only guests sleeping at the hotel are covered by the hotel insurance in case of an accident, and the hotel personnel would be held directly responsible for any damage occurred to non-insured travelers on the bus. For this reason, no one is allowed onto the bus unless they have a reservation at the hotel -- its not about the money, but about the responsibility.

Travel tips

  • Taxi ride to or from Positano is 20 euro. We did take bus into town... too far to walk. Took taxi back.
  • Don't miss opportunities to take bus to Ravello and/or Sorrento.
  • Used Rainbow Limos for transfers to/from Naples train station. They were awesome!

Fantastic

Travel tips

  • The local food market for staples has odd hour, they had to take a siesta.
  • Bring small amounts of dish detergent, toilet paper, etc.
  • There are plenty of places in town to bring food & wine back to the villa, so you don't have to cook or eat out every day...

October 2013 - Villa Isidora is special. It lives up expectations with stunning views and terrace, very quiet, well furnished, nice beds, 2 bedrooms and kitchen.

It is a couple miles from town but there are ways to get around. There are two bus services with stops right out front. The local Positano bus (orange and white) comes by every hour at :45 and you just stand and wave and it will stop. It returns from town around :30 depending on the stop you choose. Local bus costs 1.70 euros per trip. Then there is the SITA bus line that takes you to Sorrento in 30 minutes. Stand on the other side of the street at the sign but be sure to wave at blue bus so it knows to stop.

Pamper yourself and stay at Villa Begonia.

October 2013 - We thought the space inside was wonderful decorated and spacious. The view was beautiful.

This is the second time we've booked a villa through summer in Italy and love the site. It's every user friendly and the staff is always helpful.

Travel tips

  • Spend one whole day enjoying the beach.
  • Walk to town to see the amazing views and shops and food.

May 2013 - The villa itself is exceptional: very clean, spacious bedrooms, well stocked kitchen. The private terrace was a highlight with stunning views of the ocean and Positano. The private beach was great for swimming and relaxation. The staff was always courteous and helpful.

It was an easy walk into the town for groceries, supplies, and wine, with easy connections for buses.

Villa Begonia was a highlight of our family vacation along the Amalfi coast.

Travel tips

  • There is a cluster of shops, a cafe, and restaurants around the Chiesa Nuova bus stop, a short walk from the villa. The shops have a more local flavour than those surrounding the main beaches and tourist areas.
  • There is easy access to hiking and bus transportation from the villa. Pompeii is an easy day trip, as it the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) hike.
  • A stay just before the high season avoids the crowds and peak season rates, while being warm enough to enjoy the beach and swimming.

June 2012 - Villa Begonia was very nice. Everything was in good working condition and perfect for what we needed. Other then tripping the breaker one time everything worked well. The furnishings were very nice as well.

Travel tips

  • Loved that a small but adequate market was within walking distance and they delivered food right to the villa.
  • A visit to the restaurant La Tagliata was a highlight of our trip. They pick you up and deliver you back to your villa. Excellent food!

June 2012 - It was a bit of walk into Positano itself, but there was an excellent trattoria right next door to a pub just down the road so we didn't actually need to go into Positano every day.

The villa itself was small, but the view from the balcony and the fenicular to get up to the road or down to the beach meant we spent more of our time outside than in. We were were able to enjoy the benefits of having a front desk to collect our keys, park our car(an extra charge) and recover our car keys as early as 5 am on the morning we left. So it felt like a private suite with a James Bond style personal elevator to get up and down to it. It was great.

May 2012 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Begonia and definitely recommend it to others. It was the perfect size for 4 of us staying there and the view was spectacular.

The private beach is very nice and the elevators made it very easy for us to get around.

(Our only problem was that the toaster did not work.)

You were very easy to work with and I would definitely use Summer in Italy again and recommend it to friends.

Travel tips

  • There are some fruit and veg stands at the top of the hill that have some wonderful produce and spices that we used to make a simple dinner when we didn't feel like going into town.
  • The steps down to the beach in Positano aren't as bad as we thought they would be but it is definitely easier to walk back along the road instead.
  • We took a day trip to Amalfi and Ravello that was really nice but we did have a car and someone who didn't mind narrow, winding roads and having to really look for parking some times.
  • We did have some intermittent loss of our wifi connection but not enough to keep us from doing what we needed to online.

August 2010 - Generally extremely pleasant residence in which to stay. Good standard of furnishing and facility, only galley kitchen a little below par with rest of property.

Great views, straight out to sea, wonderful place to watch the light fade.

Only drawback was access to Positano - the local bus isn't scheduled that frequently, and anyway never turned up even close to the scheduled time - walking down to the more frequently served stop isn't difficult, but a warm way to start the day...

Travel tips

  • Plan 10 minutes to get to the top of the cliff, funicular can be busy.
  • Be aware that although the hotel facilitates some things such as parking, residents of Villa Isidora do not have access to hotel facilities such as pool, minibus transport to Positano.

June 2006 - We enjoyed Villa Begonia tremendously.

The siting was unparalleled within a peaceful garden setting with tremendous views and decent privacy on the grounds of a better hotel complex. This added a lot to the experience by having access to the funicular so that climbing up and down the steep hillside was only done when desired and to explore the well kept grounds.

The beach facility was quite pleasant and served some great afternoon meals.

Bring a good book, bring your mask and fins and prepare to relax!

We appreciate the responsiveness to questions, and the efficiency with which you run your business. The information provided before, during and after has been quite helpful and contributed to our peace of mind.
