Excellent
June 2015 - Everything about Villa Aulica was simply outstanding. My wife and I rented the entire villa for one week with our families and closest friends to celebrate our wedding.
The villa itself, a 16th century palazzo, was absolutely stunning. It is very difficult to capture in words (or really even pictures) how truly special this place is. The outdoor spaces are large, private, and peaceful with picturesque views of rolling hills, olive orchards, and the sea. You can even see the Amalfi Coast and Capri when it is clear enough.
The maze-like interior is equally as beautiful. Everything feels authentic and natural in its setting. The bedrooms are spacious and always cool due to the thick walls, with large beds and modern private bathrooms. Being two architects, my wife and I can identify that Villa Aulica was a special space. The boundaries between interior and exterior spaces are often blurred, as you walk from terrace to living room to courtyard to garden, it was simply one of the best spaces I have ever lived in.
The best thing about Villa Aulica, however, is the hosts that welcome you as if you were an old friend. Camilla, the owner who has inherited the property from generation to generation, and Antonello, her son-in-law, went above and beyond to make our time in Giungano truly memorable. No matter how many silly questions we asked, Antonello graciously answered. Camilla cooked us some of the best meals we've ever eaten. It wasn't just Camilla and Antonello, though, the entire staff did everything in their power to make us feel welcome. By the end of the week, Villa Aulica felt like home, and we were sad to leave.
We absolutely recommend staying at Villa Aulica. Whether for a week or a day, you will not be disappointed. The villa, the people living and working there, the town of Giungano, the view, the proximity to the sea…we could go on and on. It was the perfect week. We are so happy we decided to get married at Villa Aulica and it is something we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Camillia, Antonello, Isabella, Vicky, Kumar, Pietra, and Rosalba!
