Simply beautiful

November 2024 - Simply beautiful. The villa is stunning, comfortable and clean. And the view can't be beat. We stayed here 3 years ago and returned with my wonderful mother in law. With 2 bedrooms and 2 baths it was perfect.

Ivan [the owner] was so helpful if we had any questions.

Always excellent service. I have used Summer In Italy for many years now and they are the best!

Travel tips

  • Praiano is a smaller and quiet place in the Amalfi Coast. That's what we were looking for.
  • There is a market right outside the door so you can buy what you need and stay in and enjoy your coffee with the incredible sunrise on the outdoor patio and dinner with the sunset as well.
  • There are a few restaurants within walking distance if you prefer.
  • There is a local bus that runs around Praiano and another that will take you to Positano where you can pick up the ferry to all the Amalfi towns. You can also pick up the bigger Sita Bus a short walk down the hill to the main part of Praiano. We were there at the end of October so the port in Praiano is only open for charter boats.
  • Ravello is not to be missed. I recommend a private car or taxi to take you there and back as it can be tricky getting back with the Sita bus.
  • We had done the Path of the Gods/Convent from Praiano 3 years ago and it was quite a climb (1000 steps) but so worth it. You need to take the bus to Bomerano to access the path.

Highly recommended house the location of which will blow you away

July 2024 - A fabulous, stunning house the rear of which is located opposite a mini market. The villa has breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast.

Ivan the owner speaks excellent English and answers all communications.

Just up the road (50 metres) is the bus stop that takes you to the beach area for 1 euro. Excellent base for a wonderful holiday on the stunning Amalfi Coast. Highly recommended house the location of which will blow you away.

Travel tips

  • Airport transfer is approx 90 minutes.
  • Sita bus service can take you to nearby villages/towns. 2.50€ return to Sorrento, definitely worth a visit, lovely shops and architecture.
  • Boat trips can be booked and taken from the beach area in Praiano - we booked two trips, one to Capri for the day plus a private charted trip along the Amalfi Coast for my wife’s birthday.
  • It’s definitely cheaper to eat and drink in Praiano than it’s more expensive neighbours (Positano and Amalfi). We shall return.

Would definitely rent again

April 2024 - Everything at the villa was fantastic! The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to cook and admire the view. We travelled with two teens and a toddler, the two teens just loved the view and sat on the terrace the entire trip :).

Ivan [the owner] was fantastic, friendly and accommodating. Would definitely rent again.

Everyone at Summer In Italy was great! The communication was fantastic and everyone was extremely friendly. I will definitely be using Summer In Italy for all of our holidays moving forward!

Travel tips

  • We took a day to just explore Praiano which was probably my favorite day! The bars were fantastic and everyone was so friendly.
  • The market across the street, and several more around town made it very easy to get food and snacks.
  • The local bus has a stop right next to the rental which made it very easy to get around town and to other bus stops.

View from the terrace was spectacular!

October 2022 - We enjoyed Villa Annagrazia very much. View from the terrace was spectacular!

The property was very clean and the owner Ivan was very accommodating.

Mini market conveniently located right across the street!

Summer In Italy had a great selection of villas.

Travel tips

  • Parking was very limited throughout Praiano and I would definitely recommend renting the owner's garage space.
  • My suggestion is to use the local shuttle to get around as restaurants and shops were quite spread out.

This villa is simply spectacular!

October 2022 - The villa was immaculately clean and just beautiful. The view was amazing and the location was wonderful.

Located between Positano and Amalfi, Praiano is quiet and less touristy and allows for great central access to all that the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

Right across the street is a lovely market with great food for the end of busy days when you just want to sit on the terrace and enjoy the incredible view.

Ivan, the owner, lives across the street and was very helpful and always available if we had any questions.

Renting with Summer In Italy was a great experience and gave me reassurance that I would be in a wonderful place when I got there! They were always responsive when I had questions and very helpful.

Travel tips

  • The bus system on the Amalfi Coast takes a bit to figure out, but once you do it is a very convenient and inexpensive way to get around. I for one, would not want to drive in this area!
  • There are several lovely restaurants in Praiano and many in Positano and Amalfi which are just a bus ride away.
  • There is a ferry to Capri from Positano but we opted to take a boat trip from the small Marina di Praia Beach. They pick you up in a free shuttle and give you the ride of your life to Capri!
  • And don't miss Ravello, the beauty was stunning!

5++++ stars we can’t wait to come back one day!

October 2022 - Our stay at Villa Annagrazia was incredible!

The host, Ivan, was so welcoming and accommodating and the property itself was stunning with a view that we will dream about for years to come.

The location of the property was perfect - with a mini mart right across the street for fresh produce, baked goods and essentials, and many incredible restaurant options for a night out nearby. We also very much appreciated the indoor garage for our rental car, so we didn’t have to struggle with parking each night.

We loved that Praiano was sheltered away from the oodles of tourists and felt like a true retreat.

5++++ stars we can’t wait to come back one day!

The house is spectacular. Terrace is huge with gorgeous views. But even more interesting is the decor

September 2022 - Wow. Wow. Wow. This is the best of the three villas we have stayed in while visiting Praiano. The house is spectacular. Terrace is huge with gorgeous views. But even more interesting is the decor: fresh flowers, beautiful plants, music boxes from Sorrento, ceramics from the nearby region, paintings of Naples and Positano — it makes you feel like you really live here in Italy when renting this villa!

The bathrooms are updated and lovely, kitchen well-stocked. The double bed is very comfortable and dark with persiana to close out the lights and air conditioning if you want to close the windows to keep the noise out. The house is on a bus route, so you will hear the bus go by if windows are open.

I can’t say enough about Ivan [the owner]. He met us and showed us every detail of the house, had several brochures for restaurants, tours, and buses available. The first night we arrived exhausted — what a joy to find that he stocked juice and beer in the fridge for us! In the morning we could go across the street to the market for coffee, fruits, cheese, and bread.

This is our third time renting from Summer In Italy. It is easy and convenient. The communication is excellent and prompt.

Travel tips

  • We took advantage of the parking garage offered with this property for an extra fee, as driving and parking in Praiano can be challenging. It is also safe and secure, an enclosed space.
  • The villa has a washing machine for your convenience.
  • This house is easily within walking distance to several restaurants, Bar del Sole, Church of San Luca Evangelista in Praiano and Church of San Gennaro.

September 2022 - The house is clean and spacious but the major attraction is the view from the terrace. Just terrific! The second bedroom has a sloped roof so wouldn’t suit some guests.

Ivan was a terrific host and quick to respond to any queries.

Overall wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others. We loved the place.

Summer In Italy responds to queries fast and provides interesting information on Italy. Wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again.

Delightful, spacious, comfortable and stylish accommodation

July 2022 - Villa Annagrazia is the most delightful, spacious, comfortable and stylish accommodation. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay on the Amalfi Coast or Praiano.

It has high ceilings, a very spacious main bedroom with air conditioning and a pleasant lounge area, also with AC. The second bedroom lacks AC. The highlight of the villa was the expansive terrace, which had 180 degree views of the sea. We had our meals on the terrace and enjoyed the morning and evening lights on the private balcony.

The owner/host was a very engaging person with excellent language skills. He offered assistance and advice whenever required and even assisted us lugging our suitcases and dropping us off at a nearby busstop. Couldn't find a nicer host.

Very happy with everything.

Travel tips

  • The house is right across the road from a very handy mini-mart.
  • There is also a bus stop for the local Praiano bus right outside as well.
  • Although we didn't try many local restaurants as we frequently cooked for ourselves, we can highly recommend the Hosteria Il Pino nearby.
  • Our favourite shop was La Bacheca Ceramics - a 4th generation business run by a delightful lady and her parents. It's well worth a visit.
  • There are also a couple of larger mini-marts within 10 minutes walk.
  • Although Amalfi or Positano may seem like an alternative to Praiano, I would prefer to stay in the latter to Positano, as it was quieter and friendlier and seemed less touristy.

It was clean, spacious and just as pictured!

June 2022 - It was clean, spacious and just as pictured! We liked the location because it is much quieter than the other towns. There is a market steps away and the bus stop is extremely close. There are really good restaurants nearby.

We enjoyed the walk to the beach. Even though it takes about 20 minutes, it is a fun walk.

Everything was great - Ivan [the owner] was very kind and patient with our questions and calls!

Everything was great no complaints!

Travel tips

  • Once you figure out the bus schedule, no problems getting around, but for some reason there are few seats so you will have to stand a lot and hold on!
  • We would not drive here.

The perfect vacation home

May 2022 - If you are looking for the perfect vacation home on the Amalfi Coast look no further. Praiano is the perfect place to stay while exploring all of the Amalfi Coast. The Villa is perfectly located near the local bus stop as well as the stop for all buses that go from one end of the coast to the other. A market is steps away from the front door which is street level. So many places have hundreds of steps to climb just to leave your place. Restaurants are also within walking distance.

Ivan, the homeowner, was the perfect host. He lives across the street so if you need anything he is right there. He left us some groceries as well as beverages.

The place had everything we needed. We were two couples and it was great each having our own bathroom. The outside space is what sold me. A large terrace overlooking the water and in the distance the lights at night of Positano.

The entire stay was enjoyable.

Of course, the true show stopper is the terrace with the stunning view of the sea and coastline!

September 2019 - Of course, the true show stopper is the terrace with the stunning view of the sea and coastline! We loved having breakfast out there as well as relaxing in the evening. The house is beautifully done with many historic touches.

Ivan [the owner] is extremely helpful, responsive and kind.

I found Summer In Italy staff responsive and helpful from the beginning. I booked with you because I prefer a 'local' experience (vs. sterile hotel) but liked the English speaking concierge support before, and if needed, while there. Very good experience. Thanks!

Travel tips

  • The market across the street is great to have and it's within walking distance of a couple of very good restaurants.
  • The bus stop at the top of the street is good for both the Praiano only shuttle AND the Positano/Praiano bus (but not the Sita bus -- pay careful attention when Ivan explains it to you. We were a little jetlagged and didn't realize we could pay on board for the Positano/Praiano bus). You can definitely pay on board but have change. Tix slightly less expensive if you buy in advance but a LOOOOONG walk to the Tabacchi store.

Fantastic

June 2019 - We were a party of 2 couples so 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms worked perfectly - they are not on top of each other either, so we had privacy. The master bedroom had an en-suite and the smaller sloping roof bedroom had a bathroom just outside the bedroom door which were both located at the end of the apartment. The kitchen was adequate and had everything we needed.

Great location in Praiano - nothing above, so had to walk down to restaurants etc (and then back up!). We paid for the garage parking which was a god send as I'm not sure where we would have parked otherwise.

All perfect!

Travel tips

  • Little shop opposite just a few steps away which had all the basic essentials (prosecco, milk, bread., etc.).
  • We hired a car and pre-booked the garage parking which was a god send. It is opposite the property, just a few steps away.
  • We also used the buses - the small white local bus within Praiano which we did the first morning to get our bearings - you can get a ticket in the little shop across the road. The closest stop is bus stop 15 at the dead end if you come out of the villa and turn right (a minute walk). The bus zig zags around Praiano and turns round a few times and there are some dead ends - but you get a good feel of the place. We also used the blue bus to Positano which we picked up at the same bus stop 15 - it is better to get on there rather than down near the church in Praiano as it is less full.
  • We paid 3 euro an hour for parking in Amalfi on the jetty. Ravello was about 3 euro an hour, but Positano was 7 euro an hour.
  • Capri day trip - we ended up getting the bus to Positano (as parking is 7 euro an hour) to get the boat over to Capri - lots of ticket offices down on the beach / quayside. It was about 42 euro each return for the boat.
  • Very expensive if you stop for coffee or lunch right near the harbour - so walk out a bit. We went on the funicular and then got a taxi to Anacapri (20 euro) as there was such a queue for the buses. The taxi back to the harbour was 30 euro from Anacapri. The taxi's are all convertible the experience is well worth it. From Anacapri you can get the chair lift up to the top for amazing views (12 euro).

Very good

September 2018 - We really liked Villa Annagrazia. The house itself was very pleasant, in a good spot in Praiano with an excellent view from the very large terrace.

Ivan [the owner] was so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and Ivan was very kind.

We have used Summer In Italy before and find we receive an excellent service.

Travel tips

  • We had a car which was kept in the garage across the street. Although this gave us mobility for visiting Amalfi etc we found that the local bus services were ideal for getting around in Praiano and also to visit Positano.
  • The mini market across the street catered for most needs with the occasional trip into central Praiano for a larger shop.

We absolutely LOVED our time here!

August 2018 - We absolutely LOVED our time here! The house is clean, bright, open and beautifully furnished. The view and the terrace are the best part, such views! And a really lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Our host Ivan was quite possibly one of the MOST hospitable people I have ever met, and I work in the hotel business! He has appointed the house so well that you won't want for anything. He welcomed us, helped us park, showed us around and gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations.

I think Summer In Italy is a fantastic booking site. It is really nice to speak with people who are actually in Italy and have their finger on the pulse. All of our communications and arrangements were seamless. If I could come back to Italy every year, I would and I would always book with Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Get your walking shoes on, this house is towards the top so the walk from the beach will have you huffing and puffing, but earning all the wine and pasta.
  • The very best restaurant we ate at in Praiano was recommended to us by Ivan [the owner], a must go: Kasai, just down the closest staircase to the house.

We had an excellent stay

July 2018 - We had an excellent stay at Villa Annagrazia. We were 5 people and were very comfortable spread out over the two bedrooms and a fold up bed. The outside space was amazing, a fantastic view and great to have a table and loungers to enjoy a meal, drinks and sunbathing in the glorious sunshine.

The house is in a great position in the town, very close to food shops, restaurants and two churches. I'm so glad we stayed in Praiano as it's wonderfully located to access the nearby towns but is much quieter and authentic than Positano.

We were greeted by the lovely owner, Ivan, who showed us around the villa and spoke at great length about the various facilities nearby, busses, boat trips etc which was very useful. He was also a great help on checkout from the apartment (which was very smooth and quick) when our taxi driver was late picking us up and Ivan rang him to sort things out.

Summer In Italy were excellent, very easy to communicate with and very quick at replying.

Travel tips

  • We ate at Kasai (twice as it was so delicious but do book ahead for a table outside), Restaurant La Moressa (for nice pizza, pasta and fish on a quiet and picturesque terrace, again advisable to book), Criscito's (nice pizzas but I wouldn't be running back there in a hurry as the service was poor and you are sat right next to a busy road) and Restaurant Franchino (part of Hotel Onda Verde near Marina di Praia Beach, a nice terrace and the hotel has a lift you can take back up to the road to save you the steps from the beach!).
  • We visited both Marina di Praia Beach and Gavitella Beach. Both a twenty minute walk from the apartment and the latter is signposted well. Be prepared for a hot and sticky walk back up to the house or you can take the local bus which stops very near the house. Both have sunbeds to rent or paving blocks to lie on but we preferred Gavitella Beach as it was quieter and seemed more local. On the walk back up to the villa you must visit Café Mirante for a cocktail, it has a beautiful vista over the sea and the charming bartender creates his own cocktails, which were delicious and very welcome after the slog up the hill.
  • Don't bother hiring a car. Buses are very easy to use (either the local bus to Positano or the SITA buses to Amalfi and Ravello), cheap and they run until 11.30ish. Be prepared to queue for a bit to get on the buses though as at peak times they're busy. I think having a car would have been such a burden, as there is nowhere to park centrally in the towns and the driving is manic at best.
  • We visited Capri by boat with Plaghia Charter which was so worth it and one of the highlights of our visit. They pick everyone up from Marina di Praia Beach and take you to Capri via some swimming spots and sights on the Capri Coastline. You have about 4 hours on Capri (plenty of time to visit Capri Town or Anacapri the more authentic and old town) and then head back to Praiano. We booked when we arrived but if you're a larger group it's best to book more in advance.
  • Don't put the washing machine on with both air con units at the same time as it can create a power outage. Luckily Ivan was passing by at the time and restarted the power for us but something to be aware of![Yes, indeed -- Italian homes can use a limited amount of electricity. Turning on all the appliances or light at once, especially when there are electrical water heaters, will probably trip the circuit breakers. This is not uncommon or a flaw, it is simply the way electricity works in Italy.]
  • Access to the Walk of the Gods is relatively close to the property but be prepared for a work out and give yourself lots of time in cool conditions.
  • Would definitely recommend visiting Ravello and it's heritage properties.

Exceeded our expectations

May 2018 - Villa Annagrazia exceeded our expectations. Ivan [the owner] was the perfect host, and the view was unbeatable.

We thought the location was ideal for making day trips to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.

We enjoyed buying fresh ingredients at the local markets, cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, and enjoying our meal outside on the terrace.

Summer In Italy made our trip very memorable. Booking was easy, communication was great, and the newsletters leading up to our trip were full of valuable tips. We will use you on our next trip. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • The mini market directly across from the villa has beautiful produce, cheeses, meats, breads and wine. There is another larger market down the street.
  • We enjoyed a meal on the terrace at La Moressa. Friendly service and delicious food.
  • Il Pirata was, by far, our favorite afternoon. We shared a bottle of local wine, and they brought a small snack of chips and homemade popcorn. They suggested the croquettes that are made daily, and those were a treat! The view, the vibe, and the friendly service made for a memorable afternoon.
  • We had a car and rented the parking garage a few steps away from the villa. Highly recommend! The driving was everything we heard it would be, especially on a holiday weekend, but we found it to be a source of entertainment rather than a source of stress.
  • We rode the bus to Positano, as Ivan advised us that parking there is a nightmare. From Positano we took the ferry back to Amalfi, and then an easy bus ride home to Praiano.
  • We really enjoyed trying the local wines, very few of which we were familiar with. We asked our waiters to recommend something and were never disappointed.

July 2014 - We loved Villa Annagrazia.

The house was well equipped and spacious. It was a great location and the selling point for the house was the fantastic view. Also, there were only approximately 5 steps to reach the house, which is quite unusual on the Amalfi Coast.

The caretaker Ivan, was fabulous. So helpful and friendly.

If we will come back to this area we would definitely rent it again.

It was our first time with Summer In Italy, we came on their web site while searching on the net. The girl who helped us through the online chat was fantastic. She answered our numerous questions quickly and completely and suggested different properties matching our requirements.

Travel tips

  • Unpack, relax and enjoy.
  • We did the Walks of the Gods which is easily reached from the house. It involves a lot of steps and requires a certain level of physical ability but the views won't disappoint.
  • We visited all the towns along the Amalfi Coast as day trips. All of them have something special to offer, our favorite was Positano.
  • There is a restaurant not far from the house (about 100 steps down) called Restaurant M’ama. Great view, excellent food and friendly service. We ate there several times and the quality didn't falter.
  • There is a parking area near the house. We generally were able to get a spot there which was great as parking is a challenge all along the Amalfi Coast.
  • There is a small shop selling basic foods across the street. It couldn't be more convenient.

June 2013 - Our family (two adults, two teenagers) greatly enjoyed Villa Annagrazia.

Dealing with Ivan, the property manager, was easy and a pleasure. He is very friendly and helpful.

There was plenty of room inside for the 4 of us. The villa was very clean on arrival and all necessary amenities were provided. The terrace was large and well equipped with many chairs, a large table and deck umbrella. The view was very nice and I spent most of my time outside. Kitchen, while small, was well laid out and had all of the necessary items, including a nice sized refrigerator/freezer. WiFi worked well and there was plenty of hot water for showers. We did not run the air conditioning as it was cool during our stay but it did work when tested on arrival.

I would recommend staying at the Villa Annagrazia if you are staying in Praiano.

Your company was very good and easy to deal with (all representatives were responsive and helpful) and I really liked the website design, info, pictures, etc. as well as the good communication from you in connection with reserving the villa and arranging arrival. Will use you again if travel to Italy and will recommend to friends.

Travel tips

  • As noted by others, Praiano is not as touristy/crowded as Amalfi or Positano so there are not many shops and and only a few restaurants near the villa. The villa is at the top part of the town so is a good walk up or down from the main road as noted by others if you want to go to a restaurant or catch the SITA buses (they are blue) that run along the coast to the other towns.
  • It takes about 45 minutes to an hour we found to get to either Amalfi or and about 30-45 minutes to Positano from the villa (and the buses get crowded at times so you might have to stand) [the actual bus ride is shorter, timing include walking from the villa].
  • The local Positano/Praiano bus (red and white) is convenient as it stops in the square just up the road from the villa and you could ride it down to the main road if you did not want to walk. It goes to the small Praiano beach as well as Positano (the walk to the beach is about 30 minutes or so). You can get tickets at the small store across the street where you can also get necessary groceries.
  • There is a hardware store across from the villa too and we bought a cooler bag there for our travels which was handy.
  • We ate at a few of the local restaurants in Praiano and all were good and not too expensive.

October 2012 - We loved Villa Annagrazia! Our host was so gracious and helpful. We would go back again any time!

Our only minor complaint is that we need some better reading lights in the living room.

Summer In Italy was very helpful and supportive.

Travel tips

  • The mini mart across the street is very useful and accommodating with most everything one needs.
  • The little bus that stops at the piazza takes you to Positano! Such fun!
  • Garbage disposal is a bit confusing so pay attention.

Fantastic

August 2012 - Excellent place to relax. The terrace was wonderful

We liked the look of the villa, it was not too far from Positano on the Amalfi Coast.

The view from the balcony was what decided it for us.

Travel tips

  • Go to the shop over the road (which was great and provides for the vast majority of your needs) for bus tickets.
  • Great local beach, Marina di Praia, which had natural shade and was easily reached by bus.

Very good

August 2012 - We enjoyed Villa Annagrazia, in particular the location and easy access to public transport and local basic grocery shop.

Thank you for your very good web site and prompt response. All the information you gave was true and realistic.

Travel tips

  • We walked to the local beach which was very nice and caught the local bus back.
  • There was a very nice swimming pool in the nearby hotel in Praiano.
  • Day trip to Pompei and Herculaneum are well worth it and going by bus was very easy. One tip: do not sit at the back of the bus as the hair pin bends will make you sick! The bus drivers were fantastic and we enjoyed all our day trips.

May 2012 - We loved the view from the terrace and the convenience of the mini-market across the street and the bus stop just a short distance beyond the villa.

The manager was very nice and accommodating, the village of Praiano was a perfect location from which to enjoy visits to other villages and attractions in the Amalfi coast area.

Would not hesitate to recommend this villa or village to people with no mobility problems.

It was very easy to do business with Summer in Italy. They were quick to respond and very helpful in finding a villa and also with advance preparation once the rental was agreed upon.

Travel tips

  • Plan a full day for visiting each of the nearby villages, which include Amalfi, Ravello (be sure to enjoy the beautiful gardens and pathways at Villa Cimbrone), Positano, Pompeii (get a guide at the ticketing area).

We included Isle of Capri with Positano, but found it to be overrated, though you should probably go since you're in the area.

September 2011 - We were very pleased with the villa. It is very comfortable and homey inside, has large windows/doors with a great breeze and had everything we needed. The terrace and the view is amazing, and we spent most of our time there.

The little store directly across the street had everything we needed and was very convenient. Ivan (the owner/manager) was friendly and helpful.

To clarify location: for view is is wonderful, looking out over the sea from up high and no stairs to lug up luggage, but, it is above the town (for restaurants, shops etc). One either walks up many, many stairs, walks up the road (steep hills), or uses a taxi or the local bus that runs every 30 min. or so. My wife has asthma, so thank goodness for the bus. The road the house is on dead ends at a piazza, but a lane continues for pedestrians and scooters. Everyone has a scooter to get around. It is quite noisy in the early morning if sleeping in the front bedroom. Things start early in Italy - people setting up their shops, garbage collections (different recyclables each day), so of course people talking - and singing - in the streets and scooters going by. We are early risers, but if people like to sleep in, they might be unhappy with the hustle and bustle in the morning.

We would highly recommend the villa. It was perfect for us.

Travel tips

  • Get the schedule for the Positano/Praiano bus. Get the bus at the Piazza San Luca up the street. Bus costs 1.6 Euros to go anywhere in Praiano or to Positano.
  • The store across the street is very convenient (bread, meat, pasta, canned goods, dairy, wine, liquor).
  • Positano is great for day trips with shopping and good restaurants and beach.
  • Make sure you have good walking shoes.
  • Hosteria Il Pino - a great restaurant.

May 2011 - Amazing views of the Amalfi coast from the balcony and set in the middle of a charming village where everyone is so friendly especially the owner of the local shop that sells everything which is opposite. She makes the most fabulous salami.

The villa owner, Mr Ivan could not do enough to help our stay one of the best we have had in Italy.

September 2010 - I think that the villa was just what we were looking for, which was to enjoy the sun and the peace and quiet, in perfect privacy! (just a shame about the very bad stormy 3 days we had.)

We did enjoy it, thank you.

Your service was very good thank you, and if we return to Italy I will be contacting you first before anyone else.

Travel tips

  • Not to many restaurants/bars close by, so it would be best to plan meals at home or eat while you are already out.

May 2010 - Located high on a hill, narrow paved road leading up to it. There were patios below as we looked down from our patio; beautiful view of the sea. Nobody was immediately above us.

The owner had left real flowers for us to enjoy.

Ceiling in the bedroom was high and very unusual in a nice way. Two doors and a kitchen window opened onto the patio.

Our stay ended all too quickly.

Summer In Italy were a big help! Thank you for such quick responses to our emails.

Travel tips

  • Small market right across the narrow street and a hardware store a half block a way.
  • Very limited parking so we parked our rental car and rode the "orange bus" which went around Praiano, also to the next town, about a 15 minute ride. (Bus schedule available at the little market.) Bus stop was just a short walk.
  • We enjoyed walking up hill to the church plaza and watching the children at play. (The bar near the church has good ice cream.) Many are the steps going up and down with gates to homes along the way.
  • Caretaker was a pleasant young man, spoke quite limited English. Showed us how to work the remote for air conditioning and heating. He lives across the street and two terraces above, very easy to get hold of.
  • Garbage needed to be separated into 5 containers and put out on different days only if they were mostly full.
  • Outdoor activity (scooters going by and people walking and talking) usually ceased around 23-23:30.

July 2009 - Greatly enjoyed it as it completely lived up to our expectations and Praiano was just right being less developed than Positano and Amalfi and less expensive as a result. The public transport is excellent when you understand the system.

A huge plus is the shop just across the road, all the basics, good meat, fresh bread and cornetti, cheese and milk, also fresh food is made overnight and available daily, sometimes it was meatballs sometimes ravioli, the only problem was a longer walk for salad and fruit which they didn't stock. Our only issue was traffic noise at times.

The villa owner was delightful and very helpful.

Very well handled booking. No issues at all. Would use you again.

Travel tips

  • Expect to pay 140 - 150 Euros for a taxi to or from Naples Airport. For big parties plenty of drivers have Fiat Multiplas but book your return taxi locally especially if you have an early flight. [Tip: you can book your airport transfers at local companies in advance through the Internet in order to get a better price.]

May 2009 - We had a really lovely holiday here. Very enjoyable and in a beautiful location.

Everything was perfect about it other than two minor things... 1) bedroom number two was very small compared to the master bedroom, which was a shame for whoever was staying in it 2) the lack of restaurants within easy walking distance. Neither of these proved to be a real problem though, and we had a great stay.

Mr. Ivan [the owner] in particular was a very lovely man!

Summerinitaly were very easy and very helpful. Would use them again. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Make sure you are fit. There are a lot of steps!
  • There are two nearby supermarkets which is great, but not any very nearby restaurants (none within 20 min walk anyway). Very beautiful, though.

April 2009 - Absolutely loved it. We walked in and were absolutely blown away with the view and the apartment.

The view is breathtaking. Sitting on the balcony and having a morning coffee or an afternoon drink was a favourite part of the day. Even the kitchen has a great view. The apartment is lovely and very spacious.

The owners were lovely and very helpful -- they met us in the village and drove us to the apartment which was most appreciated as it was raining and we had quite a bit of luggage.

We had two little girls (aged 7 and 9) and I was a bit concerned about the walk up the hill. It wasn't a problem though -- I loved doing it just for the views and it was good exercise.

I loved Summer in Italy. The service was wonderful and the recommendation by Alfano for a place that was suitable for a family with children was perfect. Alfano responded to all my emails and numerous questions quickly and with lots of useful information. Just wished I could have used Summer in Italy for all the places we stayed at in Italy. Thank you so much for all your help.

Travel tips

  • Just enjoy it! Praiano and Villa Annagrazia was fabulous. We were so glad we stayed there and not Positano. Its small enough not to feel like a tourist mecca but big enough to have all you need in terms of groceries and good coffee. We didn't really do restaurants. We had no car and walked everywhere around Praiano even though there is a local bus. We found this bus didn't run very often. The buses to Amalfi and Positano though were regular and reliable and the scenery again is amazing.
  • The Tutto per Tutti grocery store and the little grocery story next to Bar del Sole had everything you need and were a 10-15 minute walk. Fabulous tomatoes!!
  • The walks down to Marina di Praia and the beach down from Church of San Gennaro were a highlight - love all those stairs. Coming back up is a bit of a challenge -- get your kids counting the stairs.
  • Amalfi is definitely worth a visit. Positano was good to visit but always glad to return to our haven in Praiano.

April 2009 - We were two couples travelling together and Villa Annagrazia was sufficient for us. However the owner did not know that we were two couples and thought we were a family travelling together. This caused a bit of a problem being one room had two single beds. It was not ideal but we pushed them together and it worked. The room was a bit small however.

The view was the most amazing! The terrace was excellent and made the stay wonderful. The kitchen was small but worked for us to cook some meals and with a market across the street it was great. Another market down the road a bit also had wonderful fresh veggies and fruit.

If you want to be in the center of the real Italian people, stay here. This is what we loved the best about the house. It was not a tourist town and loved that we were right in the center of all who lived there. We did travel to the tourist towns around the area - Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi. They were gorgeous. But staying in this house in Praiano was wonderful and quiet and in the middle of real Italian living. We would highly recommend the area and house.

A tip for future guests: please let us know how you wish the beds be done and we will try to arrange that for you. By default, the beds are set up as described on the web site and as seen in the pictures, but often twins can be pushed together and made as a queen-size bed, and, in some cases, queen-size beds can be split into twins. We kindly ask you to be explicit about your request about the set up: if you tell us that there are two couples wishing to rent the house we will not be smart enough to figure out that you might want the twins to be pushed together (and, after all, you might not want it at all -- who are we to decide for you? :-)). Just ask us to have the twins made as a queen -- and we will oblige. :-)
