Beautiful villa with beautiful view
June 2024 - The villa is beautiful with a beautiful view. The staff were wonderful with helping us schedule transportation and order groceries.
We absolutely loved the villa.
Travel tips
- We did the Path of the Gods hike, kayaking and dined at Le Bontà del Capo. This was an excellent restaurant with beautiful views and they provide free shuttle service.
- Tips to other guests - get the WhatsApp app, hire drivers and be sure to order groceries to be delivered the first night.

Good
June 2023 - We enjoyed our stay and the highlight was meeting the family who own the house and enjoying the amazing meal that they cooked for us.
The people at Summer In Italy were all amazing, easy to contact and answered all of our questions. We would definitely book with them again in the future.
Travel tips
- The villa is very close to the bus stop which was very convenient to get around, but it is also right next to the road so some traffic noise can be heard sometimes.

Totally enjoyed our visit
October 2019 - Totally enjoyed our visit to Villa Amaltea. The villa was very clean, and Katia and Alfonso [the caretakers] were gracious hosts.
Very happy with Summer In Italy customer service and the information provided. Info was detailed and timely. I found the company through a colleague and would totally recommend to others!
Travel tips
- The SITA bus tickets need to be bought beforehand and they can be picked up at the Tobacco Stores or the Belvedere Hotel.
- The Lemon farm tour in Amalfi was amazing. Add in the lunch, it is worth it!
- Had the Villa Amaltea hosts cook for us the first night we arrived. That was relaxing and delicious!

A dream!
July 2019 - The Villa Amaltea is a dream! The backyard is 100/100 with five or so private outdoor spaces and a private pool.
The location is super convenient, right next to the bus stop to Positano. Parking is very easy with their valet as well.
Travel tips
- Definitely park with the valets through the hosts.
- The house is right off a main road so you can’t really walk anywhere so you’ll have to bus or drive.

The perfect place for our Italian vacation
September 2018 - We were in awe of Villa Amaltea. It was the perfect place to end our Italian vacation.
The villa is a bit tricky to get to, and is about a 10-minute drive from Amalfi, but after 7 days of walking around bigger cities, we welcomed time to relax at the villa.
The villa is composed of three separate levels of gardens, a pool, a vegetable garden with fresh peppers, tomatoes and more, lemon trees, hammocks, outdoor dining and sunbathing areas, and tables and chairs. It will take your breath away when you walk out, and each level becomes even more amazing than the last.
The bedrooms are all a good size and each bedroom has a bathroom to go with it, which was nice for our group of 8.
We utilized the owner's son as our private chef for two meals, which was OUTSTANDING. Check-in was easy and the owner, Maria, is lovely. The only downsides were that there is no indoor living area (besides a dining room table) for everyone to relax in, that you really have to have a private driver or some way of getting to the picturesque towns of the Amalfi coast, and that there is no direct path to the ocean (I believe the owner is working on refurbishing some old stairs).
We plan on returning because this villa will take your breath away.
We had a great experience booking with Summer in Italy and would do so again!
Travel tips
- Definitely take advantage of a private chef at the villa.
