Excellent
June 2019 - Great house with a lovely pool, amazing terrace views and helpful owner.
We have used Summer In Italy on several occasions and have always found you to be very helpful.
Travel tips
- Local shops are (understandably) more expensive than supermarkets so if you are able to stock up on the way here.
- Restaurant La Moressa is the closest restaurant (approx 250 m walk) and is open all day / evening and is very high standard.

Loved the property
October 2018 - Loved the property. Lots of walking down to road, but the view was worth it. I would recommend Villa Virginia to anyone. Everything was excellent.
We looked at lots of properties and Summer In Italy's selection was excellent. Their follow up and help answering questions about the area made the trip more relaxing. Luca was a dream, helped us a lot!
Travel tips
- Local grocery store, walking distance has everything you need.
- There was also an excellent restaurant in walking distance open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It was everything we had hoped for and more
October 2017 - Loved it! So beautifully restored, with so much love and care put into the details. It was everything we had hoped for and more.
Lucia, the owner, was lovely and so thoughtful, helping us plan excursions and making sure we were happy. You can tell she loves the house and wants you to love it just as much.
Summer In Italy was great to work with, very responsive and provided lots of information ahead of time so we knew what to expect. Thank you!

I would stay here again in a minute
June 2017 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Virginia. It is a quaint house just off the beaten path offering up a beautiful view from the terrace. Out back there is a pool and a garden which we were allowed to pick from. The tomatoes were amazing! The house itself is extremely well maintained with a fully equipped kitchen and newly remodeled bathrooms. I would stay here again in a minute.

A great place for our visit
March 2017 - We thought Villa Virginia was a great place for our visit. It was very clean and well equipped. It had a wonderful view of the coast. It was such a joy to have breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea. We used some of the herbs and vegetables for one of our dinners and made lemonade with some of the lemons from the trees on the property -- the owner welcomed us to do this.
The owner was very helpful and informative. She was really excellent.
Summer In Italy was so helpful and informative. We were very appreciative of all the information that you provided. We relied on it in planning activities and it was great.
Travel tips
- This was the first vacation rental where we could not park on the property. Figuring out the logistics of having the car parked about 10 minutes away required a slight adjustment, but it really was not a problem.
- We were happy that we ended up staying in the quieter Praiano instead of one of the more glamorous towns such as Positano.

Much better than the pictures suggest
September 2016 - I think Villa Virginia is much better than the pictures suggest. We were surprised how nice the house was and the excellent condition.
You have all been super... Thanks.
Travel tips
- 1. Book Kasai Restaurant as they get booked up and are fantastic.
- 2. Take a sun lounger to the balcony in the afternoon as sitting on them to watch the sunset is fab.

Travel tips
- There is a grocery store 5 mins away by foot and an excellent restaurant next door which is very convenient.
- Priano is a very small village so if you want more action you have to go to Amalfi.

June 2014 - We stayed there in early June this year.
Villa Virginia is modern, very clean, with all the amenities you need. Both bedrooms are light and airy with beautiful linen and the well equipped en-suites have plenty of clean towels.
Sitting on the terrace looking out on the wonderful view was a relaxing way to end the day.
'Summer in Italy' made everything very easy to organize with helpful communications leading up to the holiday. The description was very accurate which gave confidence when choosing this holiday.Travel tips
- The off-street parking offered is essential if you have a rental car as there is no free parking nearby.

Very good
March 2014 - We had a love/hate relationship with Villa Virginia, hate because of tiny inconveniences, love because of the view and the awesome bathrooms and the yard and the neighbourhood.
In retrospect, months later, we realized it was one of our best vacations. But while there, there were a number of tiny things that made the stay uncomfortable. Unfortunately, those little things can make a huge difference when staying somewhere for a period of time. But they're fixable with a little planning.
If I was going to go there again, I would bringing clip-on reading lights as the bedside lights are inadequate, and would arrange lounge chairs for the patio area. I would also bring a number of recipes that don't require an oven, as there is no oven, only a gas range.
There were these green lights up at the tops of the walls [the safety light operating leds]. They glowed eerily all night long, keeping us awake. So bring an eyepatch for a good night's sleep, or some tape to cover the lights.
Our biggest complaint, and disappointment, was that it was far from the main town centre, so that everything we had to do required a lot of time and effort. Then again, we were there in February, when most things are closed down. In peak season, we would have been within easy walking distance of everything we needed and wanted.
Our greatest praise is for the view, which was astounding, the bathrooms, which were right out of the pages of a designer magazine, the comfortable beds, the truly authentic neighbourhood, the quiet, the welcoming owner, and the yard, which offered up fresh orange juice every morning.
Honestly, If we had known about the little imperfections ahead of time, we would have had the perfect holiday, with the perfect host.
Which is why I'm writing this!

October 2013 - We loved Villa Virginia, its best features were both the location -- being so close to shops and bus stops with no steps from them to the front gate! -- and the fact that it is new, everything works, and Lucia (the landlady) has plans to improve it even more!
The garden out front had a variety of fruit and vegetables to use and to make us feel even more welcome there was a bottle of red and some home made limoncello waiting for us. Nice. Lucia was so nice, took the time to explain to us all the little things that you normally forget to ask about, even though we arrived early with no paperwork!
Travel tips
- If you have someone that isn't up to the stairs that are so common in this area, do not hesitate to book this villa, it maybe a little bit more expensive, but because you can get anywhere without encountering stairs other than the 6 - 8 after the front gate.
- Don't forget everything is new! WI-FI is excellent, ran 2 iPads and a laptop.
- For those not wise to the ways of Praiano please be aware lunch time/siesta is taken very seriously.

June 2013 - As the first occupant of this lovely villa, I decided to write this review on the last day of our stay in order to be certain that I didn't forget any of the many fine qualities of the house or the sweet village of Praiano.
To start, the owner, Lucia, met us at the local bus stop where our driver had to drop us off. She was so sweet and helpful taking luggage from our hands and guiding us up the ramp to the main road.
The view of the villa from the front gate (a mere 18 wide and uniform steps from the entrance) took my breath away. The garden below contained lemon and orange trees, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant, and basil which was available to us during our stay.
It only got better as we entered the villa (newly completed). The renovation work was planned and completed from the heart. Beautiful ceramic light fixtures, glazed tiles, and wonderfully furnished rooms showed how much the owner cared that the villa was nothing less than perfect. The large bathrooms are fabulous with state of the art fixtures. Linens in the bath were plentiful and very nice even thick bathrobes are included.
All mechanical systems (hot water, air conditioning, etc) are excellent. There are many electrical outlets and they are placed in very convenient spots. The windows vent in several different ways to allow for lots of fresh air and ventilation. They also have built in electronic blinds which allow for complete privacy.
The beds are very comfortable and the linens are outstanding. Excellent sheets and plenty of pillows. Storage for clothing, etc is very ample.
The living area is complete with a small sectional leather sofa and dining for five. One of my favorite rooms is the kitchen. It is reasonably large with plenty of cabinet space. I love to cook when I travel and it is rare to find a kitchen so wonderfully furnished with critical appliances, dishware, glassware, and cooking equipment. I never found that I needed anything that was not provided by the lovely Lucia.
Lastly, the terrace. What is there to say about your own front row seating to the loveliest coastline in the world? It is very spacious and provides room for dining and sunning. A perfect place to observe the beauty of Amalfi without leaving your Italian home.
About Lucia and Carmen -- the best landlords ever. They responded immediately to my every wish and little problem. I did have some difficulty with various pieces of under garments that blew from the drying line -- oops. They were always there for me! They were also very helpful with providing local drivers (outstanding!) and other types of transport (Lucibello Jet Boats).
I would be remiss if I failed to mention Tutto per Tutti, the "heart" of Praiano. This tiny little grocery store has the kindest and most dedicated staff in the world. They not only managed to have everything I needed to cook meals over the two week stay but they always offered to scooter the larger orders to my doorstep.
This must already rank as the longest review in the history of travel but your rental is the first and most critical decision -- make it a good one. This villa will quickly feel like your home away from home and there is no higher praise in my mid. Ciao for now but we will be back!
Unfortunately, Villa Virginia can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
