August 2022 - Superb house after a picturesque path in the Tuscan countryside. Set in the countryside, very quiet.

Thank you for the great stay!

Huge apartment kept like a gem

July 2021 - Excellent accommodation, apartment for 6 people really huge, kept like a gem and equipped with everything like your own second home.

The love of the owner shines throughout the estate: he was present every day to clean the pool and do small maintenance as well as to give advice and tips to guests.

Wonderful outdoors, with aromatic plants, green everywhere and a breathtaking views. Excellent location to get around the Val d'Orcia, but not by bike (at least not in the summer heat) unless you have them electric or are a really trained cyclist: the road is called "heroic" for a reason!!

Travel tips

  • Take into account that to get to the village it takes 15 good minutes of dirt road, try not to forget anything essential :)

July 2011 - We loved Casa Salvia. It is a special place. felt like we were at home from the minute we arrived!

Everyone at Summer in Italy were great to deal with. Thanks for being on top of everything!!

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for the long dirt road to reach the property (but it is worth the trip!!!)
  • If you want a nice, casual delicious meal, check out Le Contrade in San Quirico - best pizza ever!!
  • Get the wine at Poggio Grande - at the top of the road to Casa Salvia: stop and get a bottle of their Sesterzo red wine - you won't be disappointed!!

July 2008 - Lovely place. friendly staff, beautiful well tended grounds and there were some very thoughtful touches - fresh herbs by the barbecue.

The kitchen was not great, it needs either a larger sink or a dishwasher. But overall great, and I would definitely rebook if I was visiting that part of Tuscany again.

I would also use Summer in Italy again - thank you

July 2008 - We loved it (three adults, three children).

The location is excellent with many hilltowns right next door.

The premises were in brilliant condition, the garden was beautiful and the pool was great.

You definitely need a car! Trips to the local Coop in the village are the longest 8 kilometres as the road is truly winding.

We received excellent restaurant tips from the owners in various towns nearby.

July 2008 - Lovely place, a bit off the beaten track but worth the effort to get there.

Local village well serviced.

Surrounding towns well worth a visit.

Travel tips

  • Get some light groceries before you arrive.
  • Co-op in Quirico d'Orcia well stocked.

October 2007 - The apartment was very comfortable and well furnished.

The only drawback is the dirt road downhill to the apartment, but this is what gave us the peace and tranquility.

We had a lovely relaxing stay in the area.

Travel tips

  • If arriving on Saturday shop for food while en-route, as very little is open nearby for provisions on Sunday.

May 2006 - Casa Salvia was exactly what we hoped for, if not better. Our party of four was quite comfortable there and found the place extremely relaxing. In fact, we canceled one day trip we had planned to have a full day to spend on the property. It was one of our best days of a month's trip to Europe.

We liked walking along the white roads, seeing the jack rabbits and pheasants, and each day we had beautiful flower arrangements in the apartment made up from the colorful wild flowers we picked on our walks.

Also, we found Casa Salvia convenient to a number of small Tuscan towns we wanted to visit and a great value for the money. We also found our hosts most cordial.
