Beautiful flat, lovely people. Good infrastructure in the town.
January 2020 - We had a wonderful week in Praiano. The view from the balcony of the flat is AMAZING. Couldn't stop looking out of the window...
The equipment of the flat is above the average standard of houses we stayed in during the last years. If you are a real kitchen nerd like me who does a lot of cooking at home, you might want to bring your own knife. The ones in the flat are ok for a short stay. The oven has a perfect size for two people. The stove works with gas which I really like. Bathroom is well equipped including hairdryer and washing machine.
Ivan [the owner] is an absolutely wonderful host who was prepared to help virtually 24/7. He was even so kind to pick us up at the bus station when we arrived and welcomed us with a Panettone in the flat. Thanks for being such a good host!
Amazing service from Summer In Italy! Originally, we had picked another town. Luca and Melanie informed me that outside the season we might have problems staying there and suggested alternatives. They really listened to what we were looking for and suggested the perfect place for us.
Travel tips
- The view from the bus stops is amazing. We had plenty of time to enjoy these.
- There's a mini market next door which provides a good selection of products and even has a small collection of very good meat and ham.
- The local bus is very useful, the next stop is only a few steps away. From there, you can also take the blue bus to Positano which runs roughly during the day. The stop for the long distance bus line is about 10 minutes walk away. Unfortunately, these SITA buses are extremely unreliable.
- There is a selection of good restaurants very close.
- Be aware that outside of season lots of things are closed - Google very often gave us wrong information, better check everything twice.
- The view is amazing from every spot of the town. Beautiful walk from Vettica Maggiore up the mountain, few meters on the Path of the Gods with a bar selling freshly squeezed lemon juice and back downstairs in Praiano.
- Hardly any sounds or noises from street or neighbors. The bright Christmas street lights were slightly irritating shining through the blinds, but we got used to it.
- Heating is available for extra cost - an absolute must when you are staying in winter. We had temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees outside during our stay.
- Tourist information is really friendly and helpful. The lady invited us to events and gave us valuable information when we were in despair about the SITA buses were not showing up.
- Summary: beautiful flat, lovely people. Good infrastructure in the town. Don't rely on the schedule of long distance bus lines.
- P.S.: we loved the calm and quietness of the place. If you are a kind of party person, Praiano in winter might not be the place for you...

Fabulous apartment in Praiano with great views
September 2019 - Fabulous apartment in Praiano with great views. Perfect location away from the busy towns on the Amalfi Coast but near enough to visit them. Good local bus service nearby and plenty of shops and restaurants within easy reach.
Ivan [the owner] was very helpful showing us round the apartment and explaining where to park for free. He was also very quick to respond with any queries we had during our stay.
Booked with Summer In Italy as we liked the look of the apartment. Very helpful, always answered emails promptly.
Travel tips
- Local shop 10 meters walk away for daily essentials.
- Recommended restaurants: Restaurant Kasai, Hosteria Il Pino and Restaurant Costa Diva.
- Catch the local bus to Marina di Praia Beach (Restaurant Il Pirata has sunbeds), or walk down 400 steps to Gavitella Beach Club and stop at Café Mirante on the way for a coffee with fantastic views.

Amazing apartment and a perfect host
June 2019 - Amazing apartment, fully equipped, in a fantastic location. There is nothing lacking, you just need to arrive and immediately fall in love with the view and start your holiday.
Mr Ivan is the PERFECT host/landlord. Always available to help or answer questions and always with a smile.
Praiano is a dream; quiet and so relaxing and with excellent restaurants; far enough away from the craziness of Positano and Amalfi and yet both are easy to get to in 20 min by bus.
The whole experience, starting with Summer in Italy, has far surpassed our expectations. We will be back.
Travel tips
- Just be prepared to walk and that is true for the entire Amalfi coast. Mostly just come and enjoy.

June 2018 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Piersilvia B from the moment we walked in to see the amazing views from the terrace, to the moment we left what felt like home.
The owner Ivan was helpful, friendly, and polite. Thank you for all of your help.
The best part of staying in Praiano was meeting the local people and shop owners, and we were sad to leave! We were even part of an outdoor San Luca Church mass and procession through the town.
We have been recommending this web site to friends, and we will hopefully come back soon. The people of Summer In Italy were so helpful and patient!
Travel tips
- One of our favorite outings was to the Emerald Grotto near Amalfi. We took a small boat from Marina di Praia, then boarded a rowboat to enter the cave. This was a wonderful experience, and avoided the crowds of Capri. Not to mention the disappointment when the more famous Blue Grotto is often closed due to ocean conditions.

June 2018 - We loved our stay at Casa Piersilvia B and were sad to leave.
Travel tips
- Maria's grocery store, just a few steps from the front door, has almost everything you could need: wine, fruit & veg, bread, butter, cheese, yogurt, fresh chicken and scaloppine, ice cream. But if you want more selection, go to Tutto per Tutti.
- The day we went to Ravello ( must-see town) there was an accident on the road, so the SITA bus did not arrive for our return journey.
- Instead, we walked to Amalfi using the staircases and paths alongside the highway. It didn't take very long to walk down, however our route took us instead to the little town of Atrani but there's a large tunnel that goes under the mountain to Amalfi where it was just a bus ride back 'home' to Praiano.
- We much preferred Positano to Amalfi and were very glad to have chosen friendly Praiano and Casa Piersilvia B as our home base.
- We consumed all the gelato we wanted and didn't put on an ounce!

July 2017 - Casa Piersilvia does what it says on the tin. Perfect for a weeks getaway on the Amalfi coast. The location is not particularly suitable for those who don't like steps or walking, but if you do then the rewards are fantastic views and beautiful locations.
Travel tips
- Try all the local restaurants and certainly the walk down to Marina di Praia.

September 2016 - Fabulous location in between Positano and Amalfi...very clean, cute, secure and bright 1 bedroom apartment with all the expected furnishings and in close proximity to some great restaurants. A local convenience store is just steps away, as well. The "red" bus stop to/from Positano is just a few meters away from the door of the apartment complex which is a great bonus.
All in all, a great experience dealing with Elisa and Luca of "summerinitaly.com" as well as the owner upon arrival at the flat. Casa Piersilvia is an ideal home base from which to explore the Amalfi coast.
I look forward to returning to the Amalfi region and would not hesitate to stay at Casa Piersilvia B. Thank you for everything.
Travel tips
- The "red" bus to/from Positano stops just a few meters away from the front door of the apartment complex which is super convenient.
- Make sure to try the pizza and tiramisu at Restaurant La Strada, a short 15 min walk away (it is truly out of this world).

September 2016 - We absolutely loved Casa Piersilvia B. We would book again anytime! Such a beautiful view and everything you need to set up a little temporary home in Praiano.
Travel tips
- We often went to Tutto per Tutti and also frequented the Hotel Margherita just below Casa Piersilvia B. The people at the Hotel Margherita are extremely warm and welcoming, as is the owner of Casa Piersilvia B.
- Highly encourage renting a scooter as the best way (a boat is great, too) of seeing the villages along the coast.
- We loved visiting the other villages, Amalfi was our favorite of the others, but we were soooo happy to have chosen Praiano as our base. You get more of an Italian village experience, while still offering the amenities (great restaurants etc) that tourists enjoy. We loved that people were friendly and that we didn't feel stuck in a sea of tourists all the time.
- As many others have noted there are lots and lots of steps and walking, but I figure that compensates for all the fantastic meals and wine you drink on vacation :-)
- I brought heels but they were a waste of suitcase space :-)
- A day-trip to Capri is great and best done by boat. We loved our boat trip with Amalfi coast excursions (and they pick you up in Praiano!)
- If you need a taxi or private transfer see Gennaro beside the Bar del Sole, he's great.
- Enjoy, you're in for a lovely trip :-).

July 2016 - We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Piersilvia B. The amenities were perfect; location great for walking, bus service and groceries.
The view from the balcony was outstanding.
Mr. Ivan (owner) couldn't have been nicer.
We miss Italy!
Summer in Italy made this trip easy. We were given a lot of extra information regarding contacting the owner, the apartment amenities, directions, money exchanges etc. Thank you! Ciao!
Travel tips
- The public bus didn't show up one day and it took us two hours to get to Positano. I would recommend asking a local resident about festivals etc. that would change the bus schedules.
- We took a short trip to see the Emerald Grotto, very nice. Restaurant Mama's was a good dinner.
- Remind, the shops and grocery stores close during the afternoon, so go in the morning or around dinner.
- One last thing, if you need to get back to Sorrento, pay for a taxi if possible. You get a nice ride in a Mercedes and no hassle with luggage on the Sita.
- Buy an Italian dictionary!!

June 2016 - Casa Piersilvia B is lovely. Clean, well kept. There is quite a bit of traffic noise and the neighbours were loud. The owner was friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony was beautiful.

Travel tips
- A lovely little apartment to base your stay on the coast from.

October 2015 - We loved our week in Casa Piersilvia B. It's the pick of the apartments in that building - has the bigger balcony and therefore the best view.
The apartment had everything we needed for the week and was absolutely spotless. Lovely big bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space. There were little flowers in every room - a lovely touch!
Ivan [the owner] met us there and showed us through everything - a nice friendly guy and always available to assist with anything
Loved the little street with the locals always happy to say hello.
Our holiday was perfect and liaising with Summer in Italy has been excellent. Have already recommended you to others. We found you when we googled apartments on Amalfi Coast on the net. Keep up the good work!
Travel tips
- Be prepared for the steps! There's 206 steps from the door of the apartment to the street where the supermarket is but even my 58-year-old legs managed to cope!
- Lovely quiet area and rental apartments are mixed in with local houses. Great atmosphere... the ladies congregate in the square opposite and the men at the church.
- Supermarket only 10 min walk and has everything incl alcohol downstairs. Pasquale from there will drive you home if you have lots of groceries.
- Maria has a little deli just down the road (1 min). She looks a little stern but just needs buttering up a bit.
- Go to Hotel Margherita (down the stairs opposite) for dinner and go upstairs to the outdoor restaurant... it's stunning and the view is to die for. Lovely young couple run the hotel and will also drive you back home after dinner.
- Local buses are the way to get around... forget hiring a car as the streets are so narrow and winding and parking is a problem. Just about every car has scratches and dints.
- Positano is the place for shopping... beautiful cotton and linen clothes.
- Take a trip to Ravello... it's lovely.

September 2015 - A perfectly located apartment for two, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main road on the Amalfi Coast. Sensational views, very well appointed, clean and conveniently located to the bus service to Positano, the Sita bus line, the supermarket and restaurants.
Ivan was a wonderful host, welcoming us upon arrival and driving us to the bus stop with our luggage on departure.
Will definitely recommend this apartment to family and friends.
This is an excellent web site. Have already recommended it to others.
Travel tips
- Local bus line to Positano just aside the door.
- Supermarket handy at the bottom of the steps in front of the apartment.
- Highly recommend Walk of the Gods from Praiano to Positano, a day trip to Positano, Ravello and swimming at both locations. Capri only if you enjoy tourists!!

The position is very good. The bus stop is just near the casa and takes you to both beaches in Praiano and to Positano. Praiano and the cost is beautiful.
We will recommend this place to everybody.

June 2014 - We enjoyed the apartment and would recommend it highly as very good value for money, clean and fresh, in great location because of the close public transport and convenience store. It would be of great benefit to the marketing of the apartment if these two key features were advertised.
The owner, Ivan, although not proficient in English, is a very personable host and eager to be of help. The bowl of fresh lemons left on the dining table for us was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.
We were very happy with your service, directions etc and would not hesitate to book you through you again. We found you through a Google search for accommodation on the Amalfi Coast.

May 2014 - We were pleasantly surprised with both Casa Piersilvia A & B as for the price we paid we did not think it would be so well presented. We loved the small village atmosphere and the help we received from our host was excellent.
We were very happy with your service and your excellent website. We are returning in May next year and are at present looking on your website for a villa in Tuscany for about 8 or more people for a full month. We will be in touch when we find something suitable.

April 2014 - Very friendly owner that gave us a nice introduction to the apartment. Very well presented with nice touches: flowers and toilet paper, etc. He picked us up from the bus stop on the first day, and was on hand throughout our stay to answer any questions we had
Very good service and attention to detail - thank you. We have recommended you to friends.
Travel tips
- Visit the tourist office in Praiano - we found it too late in our trip!
- A bus leaves from right outside the apartment to Positano - perfect for when you don't feel like walking all the steps to catch the frequent buses from the main road. You can buy bus tickets from the tobacco shop on the main road.
- There is a mini supermarket a few steps from the apartment door - very handy.
- Favorite things: Walk of the Gods, Amalfi, Positano, the villas in Ravello

October 2010 - We stayed in Casa Piersilvia B for 3 weeks in Sept/Oct 2010. It has to have been the most enjoyable holiday we have had.
The casa was perfect and very very clean. The view from the windows and the balcony was breath taking.
The owner Ivan was very kind and most helpful, even leaving flowers in the bedroom and dinning room and lemons and limes from his own garden on the table for us to use.
Would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone and would return in a heartbeat.
We decided to book with Summer in Italy as we had seen on 'Tripadvisor' that your company was the best to deal with, and they were so right. Any questions have been answered promptly and efficiently. Would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone.
Travel tips
- The town of Praiano was perfect, not to touristy but with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
- It is easy to get around by local bus and is also on the main bus line to all the other wonderful towns on the Amalfi Coast, like Ravello and Vietri sul Mare.
- Make sure to have comfy walking shoes as there are many many many stairs!

August 2010 - Best view I have ever had from holiday location. Location was lovely but hard to walk up to it several times a day.
Very peaceful except from 21.00 to 24.00 when square across from apartment became playground for everyone.
Having air con was fantastic.
Summer in Italy was great. The site was very good and easy to navigate.
Travel tips
- There is a bus service to Praiano & Positano directly outside the apartment. However I think a scooter or car is a must for part of a two week stay.
