We enjoyed it very much
October 2017 - We enjoyed it very much. Very nice neighbours, shop next to the house and mini market. Praiano is not too busy, better than Positano, for example.

We had a lovely time
September 2017 - We had a lovely time at Casa Piersilvia A. It is situated high up from the main town of Praiano. The views are stunning looking towards Amalfi on one side and Capri and Positano on the other. The road to Praiano is a pleasant downhill walk.
It is very much a local community both living and working here. So, some noise is to be expected. This did not spoil our stay. We loved living and experiencing true Italian life. The locals were very friendly and helpful.
The owner was very helpful and willing to help with any questions.
Keep up the good work. Summer In Italy is an excellent organisation.
Travel tips
- The town of Praiano is a pleasant downhill walk.
- There is a local bus, which stops a few yards away from the apartment... It is wise to get this on the return journey! The charge was one euro!
- The main bus route from Amalfi to Sorrento stops in the town. A fabulous way to explore the amazing Amalfi Coast. Be prepared to stand at peak times.
- Praiano offers good places to eat.
- The local small supermarket is years from the apartment and stocks most commodities.
- There is a general store next door.

Comfortable and well equipped!
May 2017 - Casa Piersilvia A was comfortable and well equipped. Shower was good. Preparing dinners there was no problem and the balcony to eat on was nice with a sea view.
Ivan [the owner] who showed us in was very helpful with local knowledge.
Travel tips
- Both the local and Sita bus stops are nearby, you can buy Sita bus tickets from a betting shop and a phone shop.
- One potential problem is that the Sita buses fill up at peak times at Amalfi/Positano and as Praiano lies between Amalfi and Positano then buses could be full in both directions and therefore unable to pick up in Praiano. We were unable to get on in Praiano once but otherwise were able to (though don't expect a seat). This seems a problem across the region though, even in Positano where many people get off, many people also commonly want to get on and do not que effectively which also means you can miss out on getting on even if you have waited some time. Where possible it's better to use the local buses instead.
- Praiano was an excellent base for us. Much quieter than Amalfi and Positano but still with a perfectly sufficient selection of shops, bars restaurants, etc.
- For food the minimarket right next to the apartment is convenient and the "Tutti Frutti" shop a short walk away has a good range of everything you might want from meat and vegetables to wine and beer.
- If eating out we recommend Che Bontà at the bottom of Praiano near Sita bus stop 7 which seemed authentic italian food, was tasty and excellent value.
- The Path of the Gods is well worth doing with beautiful views. We walked up from Praiano and along to Montepertuso and then down into Positano. The steps up to begin with can be hard going but once you're up there it's easy to navigate and fairly easy going. There are apparently buses you can take up/down at Bomerano/Nocelle.
- Another nice walk is from Amalfi through Atrani and up to Ravello - again a lot of steps up/down involved.

May 2017 - I stayed at Casa Piersilvia A for one week, from May 3rd to May 10th. The apartment was spotless and well equipped. The view from the apartment was absolutely stunning. It is situated on a quiet Piazza which was lovely.
Was lovely to have a kettle to make tea! I travel to Italy alone once or twice a year and one thing I would suggest is a radio in the apartment. I have never had one anywhere in Italy. I brought my own but it would be nice not to have to pack one in my luggage!!
I would love to go back again and I would highly recommend this apartment if you want a beautiful quiet base to explore the area.
The owner Ivan was so kind and friendly, ten out of ten to Ivan.
Thank you Summer In Italy for making it all so easy. I will be using your services again in future now that I have found you! Well done!
Travel tips
- The local bus passes outside the apartment and for one euro you can go anywhere in the village.
- There is a little shop a couple of doors down the apartment for your basics.
- The only thing I missed was a place beside the apartment to have coffee.
- Praiano is a gorgeous, quiet and very local type of village. It is all steps and hills but if you don't want to walk the bus will bring you where you need to go.
- Positano and Amalfi are very close and easy to get to on the Sita bus.
- I am glad I picked Praiano as Amalfi and Positano were very very touristy and busy.

Spacious for two adults, very clean, fresh flowers, very comfortable. We sat on the balcony and had our meals, we were part of the locals!
The local bus went past our door which took us down to the village or to Positano if we wished.
Would recommend this accommodation!!
Summer in Italy - made it easy for us!! It all worked out perfectly.
Travel tips

July 2015 - We had a lovely stay! The view is outstanding!
The bus service between Praiano and Positano is very good and on time. Only about 20 meters from the apartment. To catch a Sita bus is also very easy as you take the orange bus (Praiano) to the Sita stop. We had a rented car and used it only once. The buses were very convenient.
There is a small supermarket just below the apartment where we bought all our groceries. Small, but she had everything we needed and the prices were right.
Everything was perfect. Thank you.
Travel tips
- When you want to leave early, buy the ticket for the orange bus at the supermarket at Maria.

April 2015 - A pleasant apartment at a reasonable price. Very helpful owner - picked us up from bus and took us back there at the end of our stay.
A bit of a walk to/from the village, but there is a bus. On a quiet road (a few sounds of deliveries etc in the morning, but generally quiet).
Travel tips

April 2013 - Casa Piersivlia A was terrific. It was bright, clean and roomy, with an incredible view from a comfortable deck. I enjoyed sitting out there, with a book, a glass of local wine, and some fresh olives.
The large window in the bedroom was enjoyable as well, letting in lots of light in the daytime, and nice fresh air in the evening.
Ivan [the owner] was friendly, and helpful, and always available if I needed anything.
My stay was very enjoyable.
I was very pleased and completely satisfied with service from Summer in Italy. I tend to like to do my own travel arrangements, but the knowledge that your staff had made a huge difference in my travel. Thank you very much!
Travel tips
- There is a small market just a couple doors down the street, which was very useful.
- The bus goes right by the door, in case you don't want to walk up or down the hill to/from the main street in Praiano. The walk was lovely.
- The people are friendly. Very safe, and pleasant area to stay.
- Check out Hotel Fioriere for internet access, and great wine... ask for Luigi.
- Hosteria Il Pino has an amazing menu, with an amazing meal... top notch.

October 2012 - We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Casa Piersiliva A. The apartment was perfect for two people. It was so clean and well presented and Ivan was the perfect host - nothing was too much trouble for him. We did appreciate his help and friendliness.
The apartment had everything we could have asked for. Would definitely recommend.
Keep up the good work. It was a great idea to have the instructions for the bus driver in Italian so we could give it to him and get to our final destination - Casa Piersiliva A easily.
Travel tips
- Take footwear for walking. We walked everywhere. The steps, roads etc are steep as is to be expected on the Amalfi Coast.
- The Hotel Margherita has great food at a reasonable price and is close by - just down the steps.
- Have a good map and get good directions if you do the Walk of the Gods - we got lost!!

October 2012 - We loved our stay at Casa Piersilvia A! It is located only steps from a small market and a short walk from Tutto per Tutti, our favorite grocery.
I cannot say enough good things about Casa Piersilvia A, the locals who have become our friends, the area, and Ivan [the owner]... what a lovely young man and so considerate and accommodating.
We enjoyed our stay so much, we cooked all meals except three... we are both self-professed chefs and found everything we needed to produce fabulous meals with fresh local ingredients in the kitchen.
We highly recommend Casa Piersilvia A and look forward to returning next year!
During a previous visit to Praiano, we did not book with SII but with another company, what a nightmare. SII does a great job of property descriptions. My questions were answered promptly and with sound advise or information. Everyone I came in to contact with is charming and polite. I will never book with anyone except SII while traveling in Italy.
Travel tips
- Enjoy your surroundings... it is beautiful! You are centrally located to catch Flavio Gioia, the local bus, or Sita bus which will bring you to other towns for day trips.
- Walk... you can experience so much!
- Use your Italian, even if it is just a little, the locals are quite patient and will help you. Gennaro at the local hardware store, which we called the Home Depot of Praiano is a lovely man and so patient. Introduce yourself even if you don't purchase anything. Look around the store it is amazing how much can fit in a small place and you can practice your Italian.
- Live like the locals, we committed ourselves to this and it was a fabulous holiday!

September 2012 - I loved staying at Casa Piersilvia A. The location was great, with a small food store 2 buildings away and a little hardware store right next door. If you enjoy walking it is a gorgeous walk into town... and not too far, or if you prefer the bus stop is right on the corner from the apartment.
The small terrace has a lovely view of the Mediterranean and also the town square where many of the local adults and children would gather in the evening.
Ivan, the owner, was wonderful. If you need anything he provides it with a smile. He even had fresh flowers and a bowl of lemons from his garden at the apartment on my arrival.
The only small drawback was that the apartment had no air conditioning (which was fine since the sea breeze usually was enough to cool the apartment... but with the windows open there was some noise in the morning from the buses and at night from the square).
All in all I would definitely stay at Casa Piersilvia A again and plan on doing so next summer. A great value for the money.
Travel tips
- Walk everywhere and enjoy the view and the people.
- La Praia Beach is magical. Spend your days at the beach and then take the bus to Positano in the evening.
- Bar/Hotel in town has WiFi for 15 Euro for 4 days.
- Shop at Tutto per Tutti and cook your own meals (occasionally!).
- Hike up to Nocelle if you feel up to it (not easy).
- Just relax and enjoy!!

August 2012 - Casa Piersilvia A was a very nice property and staying there accomplished exactly what I was hoping for... a feel of totally immersing myself in rich, Italian culture. The easy accessibility to the local bus was an added bonus also.
The property is very well maintained and very clean which are very important to me. Not knowing the differences between Praiano and the neighboring villages (Positano and Amalfi) when I booked Casa Piersilvia A, I was to find out that my selection was absolutely perfect for me because it was so much more quiet and relaxing a village than the others.
For me, Summer in Italy was very user-friendly and very accommodating. They called me in the US from Italy prior to my arrival to answer any questions I had which was very comforting for me. I found Summer in Italy strictly by chance when browsing the internet, but it turned out to be a wonderful tool for my "holiday" planning. Thank you.
Travel tips
- If you do not have a car and are arriving from Naples, I would absolutely recommend using the SNAV boat for a short, direct trip into the marina at Positano instead of taking a train to Sorrento and then a bus into Positano/Praiano. The cost is only 14 euro and well worth it. The bus ride was horrible for me. Crowded bus and lots of curves.
- Renting a scooter from Praiano and driving along the Amalfi Coast is a must!
- Lots of shops in Positano and Amalfi, but if you want real, authentic linen, you must go to Pepitos in Positano. Beautiful things... They have been in business since 1962.

May 2012 - We were pleasantly surprised with both Casa Piersilvia A and B as for the price we paid we did not think it would be so well presented. We loved the small village atmosphere and the help we received from our host was excellent.

April 2012 - My daughter and i loved staying at Casa Piersilvia! It was a small apartment, but just right for two.
The queen bed in the bedroom was great and there was a pull out couch in the living room. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking a good Italian meal. We even had a washer, which was nice because we had been traveling for weeks.
Although the terrace was tiny, it was big enough to sit and admire the amazing view.
The location was great, close to market, church, a short walk to Sita bus stop and steps away from orange bus pickup.
The best part of staying at Casa Piersilvia was the caretaker, Ivan. He was so helpful to us and made us feel like no problem was too much for him to handle. He even took us to Positano with our luggage when we left for Capri.
We felt very safe and loved our time spent in Praiano. Look forward to returning one day and would definitely use Summer in Italy for accommodations.
