We would definitely return
July 2021 - Casa Pierpaola is in the charming town of Praiano, very close to Positano but without the crowds or prices. It is a stone's throw from a bus stop directly to Positano to save you paying huge parking fees.
The house boasts a lovely view, is comfortable and is right above a little store where you can buy all your food needs.
The caretaker is very kind and attentive. We would definitely return.
Travel tips
- One highlight was to walk down the stairs to Praiano's lovely little stone beach at sunset for a swim. The crowds were gone by then. For those not fit, you can take the bus back up to the house!
- We took a ferry from Positano to Amalfi, another charming town, and then the bus back to Praiano.
- There are plenty of great restaurants in Praiano but try to book because they fill up fast - we liked Restaurant Franchino, one staircase down from the apartment.

It was perfect!
June 2019 - We stayed here for a family reunion, of sorts, and it was perfect! AC works very well in the bedrooms and the whole house stayed comfortable. Kitchen was large and well stocked. 2 bathrooms were convenient to have as was a washing machine. Roof terrace was amazing.
There is a small market next door (literally) and 2 more markets 5 and 10 minute walks. Between them all we had everything we needed for a weeks stay. There’s a butcher shop in town as well. There is local (around town) bus service from the square, about 100’ from the villa and regional bus service from the bottom of the hill.
The owner is Ivan. A very nice gentleman who speaks English and explains everything. He allowed us to check-in a few hours early as the house was not rented out the previous night. He’s also local and available in just a couple of minutes if needed. He even showed us which channels the World Cup was on Tv.
Travel tips
- We did a day boat trip ride to Capri and used Positano Boats. They have a Praiano boat pick up from Gavitella Beach... walkable but straight down to get there and straight up to get back (took about 25 minutes) but it was nice not having to bus or cab to a nearby town for pickup.
- The steps to Path of the Gods are very close by (Ivan can point you in the right direction)... It’s a hell of a lot of work to get to the path but worth it. Go early and beat the sun/heat! We thought we’d get to Bomerano and catch the bus back to town. Bus service is hit and miss... Even if you time is right, you have to go the other way to Amalfi to get back to Praiano... We opted to hike back.
- If you don’t like hills and walking, it’s not the place for you... Praiano isn’t the place for you.

Casa Pierpaola was very clean and extremely well equipped. They had thought of everything including beach towels.
We had a fantastic time and couldn't fault a thing.

Travel tips
- There was a mini market under the house which offered everything.
- The buses arrived ten steps from the house and ran regularly.
- Parking in Positano and Amalfi is difficult to find and the car parks are expensive, so it's advisable to use public transport which offers a very good service.

May 2017 - Beautiful location overlooking sea in Praiano and away from touristy Positano.
Very close to some excellent restaurants. You do not need to go out of Praiano for good food with great view.
Roof top terrace is peaceful with great view. Rooms quite adequate and very clean. Indoor parking for those with car.
I have referred Summer In Italy to many people. The website is very accurate; descriptions and references and easy to navigate. The employees can't be any more accommodating to get you just what you want. Very responsive.

May 2017 - Casa Pierpaola was great!
The large bedrooms were amazing, smaller one nothing special, but did the trick. The view from the kitchen table was obscured by a house but the garden terrace had great views. Kitchen had great appliances, but needed a few more decently sharp knives. Bathrooms were roomy and had great showers. The road was a bit loud with trucks, but the location made it very convenient to catch the bus and go to the little mini market for groceries!
Great recommendation for the car service, we found it was very affordable and convenient with a small child.

I LOVE Summer In Italy!!! The service we received from start to finish was excellent. But when our flight was cancelled 30 hours beforehand, and we were in a real dilemma, you were marvelous. October 2016 - We loved Casa Pierpaola!
It was exactly as the pictures showed and better. There were 6 of us in the house and we had plenty of space.
The area was perfect. We had easy access to the local bus, a very nice mini market down below, and a hardware store too. We wanted to experience the way the locals lived and we got it.
The owner, Mr. Ivan, could not have been more helpful.
Everything was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about our stay except we will be back!
Summer In Italy did a great job providing us with rental options for our trip. I tell everyone if they need a place to stay in Italy to contact you! Thank you!
Travel tips
- It was a wonderful neighborhood experience.
- We could hop on the bus at the end of our street and go all over.
- We took the Sita bus from downtown Praiano and went to Positano and Amalfi.

Travel tips
- Be prepared to walk, not just in Praiano, but all through the Amalfi Coast towns, many built on hillsides.

August 2016 - We stayed for a week in Casa Pierpaola and absolutely loved every minute of it, right from the time we reached the place.
We used the kitchen regularly and cooked food much to the delight of the whole family.
Ivan, the owner, is a lovely gentleman, very polite and helpful. He explained the place and showed us maps that we could use. He offered us to use the tomatoes and herbs form the terrace and gave us some from his mother's garden. He is always available if you want him.
Have no hesitation in recommending Casa Pierpaola to anyone. It is an absolute delight.
You guys were absolutely fantastic - every one of you. Any time I ask a question, how trivial it might be, it was promptly answered. Well done and thanks a lot for making our stay memorable.

- There was a wonderful little market right next door, that had everything we could possibly need.
- The people were very friendly and the location was perfect to reach so many other areas.
- You do need to be in shape to climb the hills around the area, but it was great exercise and helped keep us from gaining too much weight from all the wonderful food!
- We never ate at a restaurant that we didn't like!
- There is pretty prompt bus service all day to reach the lower areas of the city.

September 2014 - Really enjoyed Casa Pierpaola, the local feel due to its location.

Travel tips
- Great location in proximity to a local shop (downstairs) that sells basics including beer, wine, meat etc. which came in handy.
- Pizzeria down the steps and excellent restaurant near by. 25 minute walk into the town centre and you are welcomed by more food choices.
- The bus stop is close to the property, makes getting up and down the coast really easy, as well as local beaches.
- We really enjoyed our stay here, with kitchen well appointed as is the rest of the flat. The roof terrace which isn't well advertised has magic views over looking the sea.

September 2014 - We really enjoyed our stay in Casa Pierpaola.
The place was spotless clean and really spacious, just the way it is on the pictures.
The owner, Ivan, was very friendly and provided great service to us. He lives in one of the neighbouring houses so he was there within a few minutes whenever we needed something.
The Casa is located next to a small supermarket which is really convenient. The street is very quiet at night but gets a bit noisy in the morning due to locals chatting near the supermarket. We would definitely stay in the casa again!
Thank you - it was a great vacation!
Travel tips
- Keep in mind that the Casa is located uphill from most restaurants in Praiano. So on the way back from the town centre you can either walk uphill/up the stairs and get a good calf workout (like we did :)) or take one of the local buses.
- Bring mosquito spray and after bite - we definitely needed it in Praiano and Positano.
- Trattoria San Gennaro (Via Gennaro Capriglione, 75), across from Bar del Sole, is a great and inexpensive place to eat and their portions are HUGE!
- If you want some delicious local food and personalized service by the owner, we recommend trying dinner in Pensione Pellegrino (Via Nazionale, no 190), food was so fresh, prepared by the owner Luigi.

November 2013 - We had a great time at Casa Pierpaola.
The owner, who lives nearby, was very friendly and ready to help (although we had no need to call on him).
Casa Pierpaola was spotlessly clean and had spectacular views from the terrace and the roof.
A very positive experience.
The service provided by Summer in Italy was all we could have asked for!
Travel tips
- The small general stores next door was a real bonus and the local buses were very convenient for travel in Praiano and along the coast. No need for a car, but be aware of the steepness of the hills, though.
- Italian beds are harder than British ones, so some cultural adjustment is required! The light switches also take some getting used to: they caused us some confusion at first.
- For a local meal in Praiano, the Trattoria San Gennaro is highly recommended for pizzas and seafood.

October 2013 - We did love staying at Casa Pierpaola: Ivan [the owner] was so nice and made all the difference for us. The washing machine and a place to dry our wash was great. We only wish the terrace was a little deeper. We liked staying at the smaller, and therefore more "village-like" atmosphere over the more touristy areas of Amalfi or Positano. Bus access was so easy.
Another great convenience was the small neighborhood grocery store downstairs.
Thanks for your support, Luca e Andrea.
Travel tips
- The Bar Del Sole mentioned as the meeting point (directions to the property) is directly across the main street from the Chiesa di San Gennaro (vivid yellow-ochre hued church with white and blue "fish-scale" ceramic dome, which is on the ocean side of the road: easy to identify if you haven't been there before!
- For the local bus to Positano or into the village, take the bus to San Luca church and walk back downhill about a block or two. The bus stops are marked by orange signs on yellow posts (small).

September 2013 - Overall we enjoyed our stay at Casa Pierpaola very much, and Mr. Ivan, the owner, was a very friendly, helpful gentleman.
The peace and quiet of the home was only disturbed by the loudness of the local bus whenever it came along the street. There was a small problem with some ants (apparently due to the unusually high humidity this August) in the kitchen and one of the bathrooms, but Mr. Ivan came right away to take care of it.
The home was clean and comfortable and in a good location.
Summer in Italy is a great resource for booking holiday homes in Italy. I booked with you because we had such a lovely rental experience last year in Praiano. Thank you again for all your help with our Praiano rentals -- your staff are great!
Travel tips
- Wonderful dining at Hotel Margherita (take the steps down where the school crossing sign is, just south of the apartment and you'll be right next to the hotel) and Il Pino.
- The beach at Praia is lovely and there are a few good restaurants to choose from (the local bus will take you right there and then it's a very short walk down the hill to the beach).
- There is a small grocer right next to the apartment which sells snacks, juice, water, yogurt, bread and meat (no English spoken -- but that's part of the adventure!). For fruit and veggies Tutto per Tutti is the best (a bit of a walk -- but worth it).
- A day trip to Salerno (get the ferry from Amalfi) is nice, and for ceramics you can't beat Vietri sul Mare (a little town just a short bus ride from Salerno).

Summer in Italy was seamless in its book procedure and everything was as promised. We booked because of the pictures and information on the website. September 2012 - The villa was clean, well presented and of a high standard. The attention to detail was fantastic with provision of starter items, spices, flowers, lemons, washing detergent, cloths etc.
The linen was in good condition including beautiful bed linen on the baby cots and even soft toys left for the infants.
The owner was very helpful and friendly.
We couldn't fault the place or our experience with Summer in Italy booking agency. We would highly recommend the property and of all the places we stayed on our trip this was the best, best value for money and most supportive staff. The cleaning cost was high compared to other places especially as we left it clean and neat but that is the only negative we could think of. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 babies.
Summer In Italy were helpful, supportive, efficient and very patient. Nothing seemed too much trouble. They were the easiest and most efficient agency we went through on our whole trip. We had other people who booked through them as well staying in other villas who felt the same way. Many thanks
Travel tips
- Make sure that you can get your luggage to the villa after meeting the owner in the town.
- If you need taxis or car transport don't use the local service in town there are more reliable and cheaper services available.

- Strongly suggest 'La Sibilla' boat trip from Marina di Praia to Capri - to explore the stunning coast line. Euro 60 each seemed expensive, but was well worth it!

July 2012 - We've stayed at this villa for 5 weeks this summer (from the middle of June till the middle of July).
This villa is great and very comfortable for the family of four persons (2 adults and 2 children). All rooms are very comfortable, very good furnished. The kitchen is good equipped and has enough dishes. The living room is in want only of satellite TV and DVD. And as we stayed for rather long period wee felt lack of Internet and the morning silence. And one more small drawback - the weak water force.
I'd like to thank the owner of this villa - Ivan. He was very helpful with all question. I could phone him and he immediately solved all the difficulties I had with villa caring.

May 2012 - The house is absolutely lovely. Spotlessly clean, with big windows in every room so you can let the light in and take in that glorious view.
The house is in a residential area so it's lovely because it's quiet and out of the main tourist areas, but it also means there's not quite as many restaurants around. There's a little supermarket right next door, so we took advantage of the great kitchen and cooked most nights. If you want to eat out, you need to locate the local restaurants (and remember how to get back to the house after a few glasses of wine) or drive into the village where there are a few more options.
Drinks on the terrace while you watch the sun go down is an absolute treat.
Found the whole booking experience really easy and the folks at Summer in Italy really quick to respond to questions. Would definitely use them again.

September 2011 - Our group of 6 adults enjoyed Casa Pierpaola very much.
The home is really set-up for 4 adults and 1 or 2 children, not 6 adults, but we adjusted and had a wonderful time.
Ivan [the owner] did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The house was well appointed and was very comfortable. Two adults slept on the roof-top deck the entire time of our stay as that was more comfortable than using the small bedroom, and they loved it!
The noise from the local bus and the motor scooters woke us up early each morning as the house it right on the street, but it also added to the local charm.
The small grocery store downstairs filled about 75% of our grocery needs, and the lady who runs it was very nice to us and helpful as well.
The view from the roof-top deck is spectacular, and we ate most meals there.
If you have a car and choose to not use the garage, parking can be a small problem and challenge.
We would definitely come back.
This is the first time I used your web site. I found it to be very accurate with regard to the property we rented. You were very responsive to my questions, and very helpful. I would highly recommend you and will use you again in the future.
Travel tips
- Depending on how far you plan on travelling while staying here, you may want to consider NOT having a car and using the local transportation. We had 2 cars for our group of 6 adults and parking was a bit of a challenge on the narrow street as we did not rent the garage.
- We loved the Greek temples at Paestum, the all day Amalfi Boat Excursion of the Amalfi coast and Capri (DO NOT go to the town of Capri unless you want wall-to-wall people, go the Anacapri instead by bus). And we loved Positano.
- To save money we cooked most dinners in and ate lunch out.
- If you are adventurous, hike the Walk of the Gods, the views are spectacular.

November 2010 - I had never been to Italy and if I come again I would return to this villa.
Did we enjoy it? Of course!!! It is an excellent place to stay although some late night walking may be involved as the bus service up the hill is not the best.

Travel tips
- The mini mart next door was very handy and reasonable however grocery items were a lot cheaper in the village.
- We enjoyed a walk to the beach, follow the path behind the church at the end of the street the signs will lead you. Catch the local bus back.
- Distance means nothing to the locals so when they say something is 20 mins away it is actually 1 hr. 12 km can also take 30 mins because of the roads.
- There is an Internet point in the village.
- The tourist information is very helpful, located to the right at the foot of the hill about 20 meters.
- You will get fit walking up and down the hill, but it is easier to catch the local bus.
