Very good

June 2022 - Casa Jole was a lovely apartment with an amazing view. Very clean.

We thought as we did not have a car and we were self catering we could have done with some tips on where the nearest supermarket was. It took us a few days to discover that there was one closer to us than Amalfi itself.

Travel tips

  • If you like walking we did some really nice walks to escape crowds in local area up to Pogerola and nice walk to Atrani - see local tourist office for maps.
  • Good fish at Restaurant Al Pesce d'Oro! - about 500 meters from the apartment towards Conca dei Marini.
  • Really nice beach on the road towards Conca dei Marini.
  • Use boats as much as possible if you can afford and not the buses as they are too crowded.
  • Capri is beautiful and would recommend too.

Very good

June 2022 - If you are looking for a view of the sea, Casa Jole is the apartment to rent.

It was very clean and we had a hard time leaving the balcony in the morning. We knew that the apartment was a studio with no living room but who needs a living room when you have a balcony with a view. The kitchen was fine for us, no gourmet kitchen but we were not there to cook but to tour.

Location was good and I would recommend this apartment.

Booking process with Summer In Italy was easy and the information provided very helpful. Thanks.

Fantastic

September 2021 - Beautiful beautiful view! Great little apartment, petfect for a romantic break. Clean, tidy and very well equipped.

Be prepared to walk, but it's all worth it for the views, location and peace and quiet!

I cannot fault Summer in Italy - the team are simply brilliant, responsive, polite, friendly and always reply quickly to emails. I would 100% book with them again and recommend them to anyone wanting to rent villas in Italy! They are GREAT! Made me feel confident and happy about my trip.

Travel tips

  • Make sure you stock up on food and groceries as you don't want to do too many trips to the supermarket, although the one in Amalfi is well stocked and not overpriced.
  • Lots of steps to get in and out of apartment and a good 20 minute walk to the beach, but we really enjoyed that.

June 2019 - If you have decided to stay in Amalfi, Casa Jole is the the best choice.

Travel tips

  • The way to the Santa Croce beach - the nearest to Rodolfo - was closed when we visited. It changed our plans. We had to use the other more distant beach. You may reach Santa Croce beach if call the restaurant on the beach and they bring you from the pier of Amalfi by motor boat. The restaurant hardly speaks English - be prepared with Italian phrases.
  • Santa Croce is not an ideal beach (big stones), but has very nice restaurant - it is a real Italian family restaurant, which is visited by Italians (surely Italians do not visit restaurants on the central street of Amalfi, they are only for tourists): I saw two Italian banquets, very good food and price - we took starters, spaghetti, main course, bottle of wine and paid 50 Euros for 3 person.
  • I recommend to take a taxi from Napoli Airport (to take a bus via Salerno is too hard). I like Amalficar - 90 Euro even in the night (best price) [email protected].
  • If you prepare food all the time at home, Rodolfo is not ideal place: all markets are in Amalfi, and you have to bring all products by a bus (to walk from Amalfi is hard, the road goes up). In this case try to find other places.

June 2019 - Thoroughly enjoy the apartment, better then we ever envisioned.

Very impressed with the efficient way we were lead through the whole process from booking to final payment...

Travel tips

  • The path down to the beach no longer exists, fallen into the sea. [right.. it was destroyed by the bad weather -- it's likely to be rebuilt, please check with us before booking about the status of the 300-step stairway leading down to the water, if this is a primary reason for booking the apartment]
  • The shop in Vettica, although the best part of 400 steps upward, is well worth using if you are not taking a car.

August 2018 - Quiet and relaxing atmosphere, the perfect place to stay if you want to to be far enough from down town Amalfi to enjoy a peaceful vacation spot.

Beautiful view from the balcony!

The apartment has everything you need, having a washer and dryer helped us so much during our stay.

Travel tips

  • Rent a scooter! The buses are inexpensive, but it is very hard to get into town. Majority of the time the buses are full and they do not stop at the bus stops if there is no more room on the bus. You could be waiting a half hour if not longer. Cabs are very expensive!

August 2018 - We enjoyed Casa Jole very much.

The only downsides were the parking (a space was not guaranteed, there was one space for several apartments) and the fact that the path to the local beach wasn't open.

July 2018 - We loved our stay at Casa Jole. A perfect place for one person or a couple.

It's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town of Amalfi, but a quick 30 minute walk in or you can catch the bus just down the street.

The view is wonderful. Making your own dinner and eating on the balcony is a must.

It is a bit of a hike from the town of Amalfi back to the apartment as it's more uphill and there are some stairs you have to walk up in order to reach the apartment.

Summer In Italy was great. I appreciated having emails returned promptly. They were able to answer any questions we had and we're always friendly!

Travel tips

  • The apartment is a bit noisy due to the traffic on the road, but we found you don't notice it much after the first day or two. You may want some earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
  • The buses are easy to use, but they weren't always on schedule during our stay.

September 2017 - Casa Jole was perfect for what we wanted: near to Amalfi, really close to the local beach and fantastic views from the balcony.

The website is great - really easy to search and find information for all the properties. The follow-up service after booking was great too - friendly emails from the staff and comprehensive information every step of the way.

We've already recommended it it to several people and we only got back home today!

Travel tips

  • At the local beach (Santa Croce), the owners of the Santa Croce restaurant will take you to Amalfi for €2.50 if you miss the ferry or don't want to wait for it. We had a lovely meal there one evening and they took us for free by boat to Amalfi afterwards.
  • You can hire a boat for the day from the marina in Amalfi which we did, even without a license. We took a picnic with us and spent the whole day going along the coast on our own. It was fantastic, well worth it. We felt very 'James Bond'.
  • There's a local pizza restaurant about a 10 minute walk from Casa Jole (towards Amalfi) with stunning views from the terrace. The pizza wasn't the best in the world but it was worth it for the amazing view, it was a good cheap evening.
  • The best pizza we had was at the Pesce D'Oro restaurant - so good we went again a couple of nights later and had the same again.

July 2017 - + wonderful view of the sea and the boats

+ blue clean water in the sea

+ a small beautiful beach

+ an air-conditioned room

+ the wonderful surroundings

+ a parking place near the house

- many steps from the beach to the apartment

- 12 Euro fee at the beach for 2 persons/a day

- walking only on the road without the pavements

- the road under the house (a little bit noisy at night with open window)

Travel tips

  • The arrival at the place by car from Castellammare di Stabia is much faster via Agerola. Do not follow the instructions from the voucher to travel via Sorrento, Positano and Praiano. Both roads are narrow with plenty of curves, but the first way is not so long. [We do agree, the road via Agerola is faster. Only, in our experience, most travellers get lost along that route, so only please try it if you have a good map with you or maybe a GPS navigator.]

May 2017 - The stunning location was just as pictured in your website. The villa was well appointed and had a washing machine - a big bonus for overseas visitors!

We thought the apartment was perfect for a couple for a week's holiday.

My only criticism is that the gas stove had been disconnected, however there was a single electric hotplate to cook on. We had hired apartments throughout Italy because we love to buy local foods and cook our meals so we found the single electric plate a bit annoying.

Yes, prospective guests might want to consider that at the moment the cooking facilities at Casa Jole consist in one electric hotplate. We will update the property description when more plates are added.

Travel tips

  • Lots of steps. Lots of walking.

December 2016 - We really enjoyed staying at Casa Jole.

It took a day or so to get used to where it was situated (i.e. figuring out the bus schedules, etc.). But it was very relaxing and peaceful.

Travel tips

  • If you don't have a rental car, we would strongly recommend going to Praiano or Maiori to rent a scooter. We rented one for 4 days and it made our stay a lot more enjoyable.
  • Ravello was beautiful and worth seeing, Sorrento was all right but kind of touristy, Positano - a definite must!
  • You can even make a nice day trip to Pompeii, although I think we'd recommend taking the bus to Sorrento, then the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii.
  • Re: buses - make sure you get a hold of a recent schedule. Buy a tourist pass if you use the bus a lot (for 5 euros for 24 hours), or a bunch of 1 euro passes if you are just travelling into Amalfi a lot from the apartment. The bus pass for 5 euros gets you around the entire Amalfi coast.
  • DEFINITELY eat at the restaurant Da Ciccio across from Restaurant Al Pesce D'Oro. It was the best meal we had in Italy over the two weeks we were there.

November 2016 - Very nice, clean, well-maintained place. Great view, very quiet.

The only caveat is location 3 km away from Amalfi, which somewhat limits mobility if you rely on buses.

Would definitely recommend and would come back.

September 2016 - Great apartment. View was magnificent. Beach was easy to reach and centre of Amalfi nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay.

Travel tips

  • Make sure you rent a car. Centre of Amalfi is easy to reach by car. But by foot it's to far.

July 2016 - The apartment was great and very well priced.

It was well situated and close to SITA bus stops making travel very easy.

Travel tips

  • The apartment is actually 2 kilometres from Amalfi, but it really seems to take no time at all to walk the distance while enjoying the view. Watch out for the buses and vehicles though as there are no sidewalks.
  • The beach directly below the apartment is very nice but if you wanted a more secluded one there is another beach further up the road past Restaurant Pesce D'Oro, which we enjoyed.
  • Pesce D'Oro is a great place to eat, and it is close. They are very helpful there. Just ask for Josse.
  • Towards Amalfi there is a small corner store, which you can see from the balcony. This place is a great place to get a quick meal and coffee. It is built on the cliff so you have astonishing views from the roof (where the seating is).
  • We suggest paying the extra money and hiring a private charter to Capri, if this is where you want to go. They will also take you along the entire coast and give you the chance to see many of the attractions which other separate day tours feature. We did this and it was the best part of our vacation.
