Peaceful apartment in central location

May 2023 - We can recommend the central location within the old town, though the streets were busy the apartment was peaceful.

Highly recommend Summer in Italy, communication was great.

Travel tips

  • The staircase to the bed was tight, though there is a wardrobe in the living area that can be used with no problems

Amazing apartment

September 2022 - It was our second time staying there. Perfect location.

Giusy [the caretaker] greeted us each morning with a smile and was very attentive to our needs. She helped us get organised each morning to have an enjoyable stay in Sorrento.

We had a great time

March 2022 - We had a great time here. 3 adults - 2 parents and 22 year old son. We were looking for a base, knowing we wanted to be out and about experiencing Sorrento and the areas around - and Casa Graziella E met our needs 100%.

The accommodation is basic, clean and comfortable. It is well situated for the harbour, bus and train station, and the shops and restaurants. The sleeping accommodation for the 3rd person could be a little more comfortable, and the spiral staircase up to the double bedroom is a little narrow; but that said the location more than makes up for these negatives. We had a great time in the heart of Sorrento.

I booked with Summer In Italy because I was looking for a competitively priced apartment in the heart of Sorrento. And I was not disappointed. I loved the location and the apartment was ideal for us.

Travel tips

  • The restaurant adjoining Casa Graziella E was excellent. Friendly. Good food.
  • Do use the local buses. They are reliable and get you to all the places on the coast at a fraction of the organised tour buses.

Good

June 2019 - Location excellent. Apartment had everything we needed and was well equipped. Free wifi and safe are invaluable. Apartment security also felt very secure. All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful.

The contact with Summer in Italy was first class and we always felt well informed, the whole transition from reservation to full payment went very smoothly. The simple but informative pack which was made available before we travelled was great. We will definately use Summer in Italy again.

Travel tips

  • Spiral staircase to bedroom not suitable for more older/mature people (no offense to anyone). Can be awkward to get suitcases up the stairs. And not the easiest to climb especially at night if you have to use the bathroom downstairs!
  • It's hard not to have a bad meal in Sorrento and often the smaller hidden restaurants are the best. Best pasta O'Murzill, best steak Bufalito, best pizza La Lanterna, best for romance Palazzo Marziale, best bar Guarracino, best wine bar La Vineria Bollicine.

Fantastic

January 2019 - We loved Casa Graziella, everything you need is there and what ever more you need, just ask for it.

Very quiet, best location, right in the middle of everything, shops, restaurants, a short walk to the port using the lift nearby.

More than spacious for two and if you have children, enough privacy for all.

Well appointed kitchen, nothing missing.

Spacious bathroom, great in winter, very warm.

View on the narrow street below with beautiful Christmas lights at night.

Great value would highly recommend.

Travel tips

  • Great location and value, ideal with a young child or teenager or a romantic break.

Fantastic

July 2018 - Casa Graziella is a lovely spacious convenient place to spend a week or so.

We were very pleased with our time there and would return.

I was entirely happy with the way Summer in Italy handled the arrangements and provided essential information.

Travel tips

  • Beware of catching a taxi at the train station. You might just get a cook's tour. It really is only a few hundred metres from the station.
  • The local mussels and clams were superb.

Excellent

April 2018 - Great location in the centre of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spacious.

Travel tips

  • Don't hire a car from Naples. Parking is extremely expensive, roads crowded and public transport very good.
  • We loved the Restaurant Inn Bufalito in Sorrento.

Excellent

June 2017 - For us this was a great location, right in the heart of Sorrento. Being opposite a restaurant it was not quiet but we enjoyed sitting on the tiny balcony, sometimes serenaded by a good jazz trio, and being part of the life of the place.

The actual apartment exceeded all expectation. It was spacious and clean in a well converted old building.

We found the staff very helpful regarding arrival and departure - you just seemed to have to ask.

I was very happy with all my dealings with Summer in Italy. All queries were answered promptly and helpfully

Travel tips

  • Do be careful on the train - I was victim of a pickpocket. The train and local buses get very crowded, and noisy, but are a good way of getting around.
  • They are not good at promoting places of interest but there is a working lemon grove right in town, just carry on past the station. It is much the nicest place to stock up on Limoncello!

Excellent

October 2016 - Overall we really enjoyed the great location just off Piazza San Antonio in the heart of Sorrento. The building and apartment were beautiful! As an architect I really appreciated the effort of the owners (and their architect!)in creating a bright, contemporary space.

The balcony doors opened out to the narrow pedestrian street below where there is a restaurant located so we had fun "Italian" music plus aromas and conversation floating up.

Mrs.Daniella who first met us and then Pine who was there each day were very pleasant and helpful.

The spiral stair to the sleeping loft is very narrow and steep. While my wife and I are slim and fit, others with knee, leg or weight problems would have a difficult time using the stair-may be even dangerous. While the street and restaurant noise did not bother us at all(enjoyed it) it could be a problem for others. The stair and city sounds should be noted as a caution to prospective renters.

Travel tips

  • Take advantage of the Tourist Office very close by located just outside the Foreigners Club Restaurant. They have a wealth of information on most anything and post weekly weather forecasts at the window, which is really helpful in planning day trips.

Excellent

September 2016 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Graziella E. It was very convenient to get to places. There was a restaurant right outside the apartments, so we really didn't have to go far to eat.

The only setback I found was the staircase to the bedroom. It was a little narrow. But overall, it was a good place to stay.

Travel tips

  • There is a lot of things to do while in Sorrento. Plenty of shopping. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from also.
  • We booked a tour to Capri and Pompeii and we just walked around.
  • In the evenings, they shut down the main street so people can walk in the street instead of the sidewalks.
  • There is a little restaurant right next door with tables on the outside during the summer and it was busy all the time. The food was good too. It was right outside our window, but the noise didn't bother us as we were always tired from our excursions.
  • I would recommend this place to other people.
