October 2021 - The apartment is located near the beach, with a beautiful view on Castellabate and the sea. It is a very comfortable place for a family with two kids.

The apartment is taken care by Margot and Rino who are very nice and helpful. Margot speaks German and English.

June 2016 - This was our second time at Casa Gloria A, now under new ownership. As before, we very much enjoyed it. The decor and furniture inside has been updated. Everything was spotless, kitchen too. The balcony is still so beautifully large, tons of windows keep the place cool and bright, and a walk along the beach to Santa Maria, who can complain? Good value for the money.

Current owners very nice.

October 2005 - The appartment is in a fantastic location and the view from the large terrace is spectacular and for that alone worth staying here. The bathroom is fine with lots of hot water although the shower is a bit cramped. There is a big sink, bidet and very large sink for clothes washing etc to make up for it.

The kitchen is functional and there are plenty of pots and plates. If you were going in colder months I would check that the open fire is available for use because that is the only source of heating.

When I stayed at the end of October the bar downstairs was closed which made evenings on the terrace unbelievably quiet and for me, perfect.

The sun sets over the horizon beyond the harbour in front of you and the only noise is the occasional put put from a small fishing boat on its way out of the harbour or the ciccadas of course.

If you want real peace and quiet go to San Marco at this time of year.

After lots of searching for reviews of appartments in the Amalfi area and coming across www.slowtrav.com I liked the comments about your site and ended up discovering the Cilento area. I am glad I did and hope to return. Your site is very good and I have recommended it to others.

October 2005 - We enjoyed our stay in Casa Gloria very much. A beautiful location with a first-class view of the sun sinking into the sea every evening.

Of course our impression was coloured by the fact that the holiday season was over, so there were almost no tourists and we had the beach mostly to ourselves. Also, probably due to the end of the season, San Marco was a very calm place (almost dull, I would say), but that was exactly what we needed after 10 days in Rome and at the Amalfi coast. For peace-lovers this is an ideal place.

When the gas in the kitchen ran out and we phoned the owner, he had someone come over and install a new gas tank within half an hour, which was amazing for Italian standards!

August 2005 - We loved Casa Gloria but found it noisy due to scooters outside very late at night after bar closes [there is a bar which sells gelati - ice cream - in the building at the street level].

Lovely spacious and airy apartment. Shower always hot and super. Lovely sink for doing washing as well as washing machine and normal sink. Very good bathroom.

Kitchen fine. Lounge very pleasant. Second bedroom large and airy.

Did not get done by mosquitoes which was wonderful!!!!

Bar and Gelateria were very good. Enjoyed excellent food and ice cream and super staff.

Very quiet resort apart from bar - not for those wanting to party. Nice restaurants in both San Marco and Santa Maria di Castellabate. Very little English spoken - not a problem as we coped admirably!!!! But not for the faint hearted!!!!

We learned to cope with the noise aspect and take afternoon siestas etc. We would certainly consider a return as we enjoyed it so much. Mr Rino [the owner] is wonderful - very charming and a wonderful host - we couldn't have done better. Summer in Italy were great - gave good advice - directions excellent - did not get lost on the way from Naples. There were no unpleasant suprises. Thank you for all your help.

June 2005 - We were two adult couples who stayed at Casa Gloria in June, 2005. The location and view were outstanding.

A very close walk to the beach, and views of the sea from almost every room. The terrace is very large and also has splendid views of the sea. The apartment was very well appointed with large, comfortable rooms.

Our stay would have been perfect, had it not been for the bar, directly below. The bar is not a traditional Italian cafe, but rather more like a U.S. bar. It filled up with very loud people every night around 10 p.m., and was very noisy until around 1 a.m.

I found Summer In Italy to be very helpful and professional and I would certainly book with you again. Thank you again for an overall good experience.

June 2005 - We all agreed that it was the most enjoyable holiday we have had in a long time.

The owners of Casa Gloria were friendly and helpful, Mama Gloria was a delight!

The location of Casa Gloria was outstanding; a short stroll in one direction to the beautiful small well eqipped town, in another the peaceful breathtaking harbour, in another the lovely stretch of sandy beach, with warm calm sea, ideal for children.

From every window of the apartment was a magnificent view (even the bathroom!).

We would recommend Casa Gloria and San Marco to anyone looking for a tranquil picturesque base to explore the region. One thing to remember on the subject of exploring the region is that travelling takes time, what looks a short distance on the map often turns into an epic journey with the reality of the winding coastline, albeit very beautiful.

We hoildayed in early June, a quieter time, with our two sons 3 years and 11 years, it suited us all.

I was more than pleased with the service. I feel your staff was a fantastic help (especially with arranging taxi's late at night!) and I would not hesitate to use either Summer in Italy, or Casa Gloria again in the future. We are 3 very happy customers! : )

June 2004 - Casa Gloria A was an ideal holiday location for a family of 2 adults with 2 children to explore the Campania region.

The family who run Casa Gloria A were excellent hosts and very friendly. The nearness of the beach is a bonus.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Gloria A becuase it gave us a wonderful introduction and a flavour for Italian living as opposed to staying in a hotel. People in the arera were very friendly and added to the enjoyment of our stay.

Our two children greatly enjoyed living over a gelateria for two weeks (as did their parents!)

We were impressed with your very thorough service. You answered every question we had, both by email and by telephone in a very honest fashion. Based on this we decided to book with you and were very pleased. We felt that we knew you almost by the time we arrived!

Your tips about 'Italian living' were excellent and were of great benefit to us. By adopting your advice we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Your instructions on how to find Casa Gloria were excellent and you are to be commended on this.

October 2003 - We had a wonderful vacation in San Marco di Castellabate. Casa Gloria A was everything we imagined it to be and more. It exceeded our expectations.

Casa Gloria A was clean, spacious and had perfect views of the ocean. We enjoyed watching the sunset from our deck each evening. The owner of Casa Gloria A and the staff at Summer In Italy were very friendly and helpful.

May 2003 - Our holiday was exceptional for us. Casa Gloria A was better than on the internet pictures, and the baby bed and baby chair was a surprise for us.

San Marco di Castellabate is a very picturesque village with all the facilities for a summer holiday. Regional food and drink was very satisfying for us.
