Perfect for us
September 2023 - My husband and I not only loved the owners, Davide and Titina, but the apartment had everything you could need/want to relax in or cook meals. Davide shared tomatoes and fresh basil from his garden and we enjoyed his stories from the years he's grown up here. His English isn't perfect, but we were able to communicate fairly well.
Davide has everything you could think of, the only thing we missed was a toaster, but we made do. Other than that, this place is perfect!
If we were ever decide to come back to Positano, we would, without a doubt, stay here.
You guys were fantastic, I loved the emails and whenever I had a question, someone would answer fairly quickly. Great Job and thank you!
Travel tips
- On the street below the condo is Bar Internazionale, this is a great place to get a drink, pastry or buy bus tickets, etc.
- There is also a small market where you can buy groceries, alcohol, etc. Davide [the owner] will show you where it is and it's within walking distance.
- There is an Interno Positano bus that will take you down to the pier/beach or, take back up. You can buy the bus tickets from Bar Internazionale or the tobacco store across the street.
- The apartment was perfect for us, but if you have mobility issues, please bear in mind there are about 80 steps from the road up to the condo entrance.

Authentic and lovely Positano experience
August 2023 - Staying at Casa Danira will give you the most authentic and lovely Positano experience.
Davide, our host, was kind and helpful in getting us settled and giving us a few insights and suggestions.
The home is clean and spacious with a gorgeous sea view from the sizeable terrace. There are plenty of amenities to enjoy a cup of coffee at home in the morning or prepare a meal as well. Although the number of stairs you will scale daily is daunting, we loved being away from the tourist traps near town center and the docks because it allowed us to branch out by trying some different restaurants and markets. I would surely recommend this spot to anyone for a stay in Positano, and would personally return for a stay.
Travel tips
- Restaurant C'era una volta was our favorite restaurant to frequent. It has incredible food, service, and sea and cliff views with great pricing!

We stayed for 2 weeks and traveled thru-out the Amalfi Coast utilizing the bus system for traveling. Everything we needed was close at hand. If you are looking for an authentic experience Casa Danira is the magical place to stay.

Our one-week stay was wonderful
May 2022 - Our one-week stay at Casa Danira was wonderful. The house is just as described on the Summer In Italy website. The views from the living room, bedroom and terrace are great. The kitchen is well-equipped and fully functional. The bed and furniture are comfy, the heating works well, and we never felt cramped for space.
The house is very close to Chiesa Nuova and to the "trail-head" (stairs) on Via Corvo for the sentiero that ascends the slope to Santa Maria del Castello. It is a lovely 45-minute walk on Via Corvo to reach Montepertuso. There is a bus stop on the road directly below the house (75 steps down) so you can get to Piazza dei Mulini in less than 10 minutes. Or you can walk there in 10 minutes if you are OK with steps. I walked up from Piazza dei Mulini to the house several times using the stairs, it takes 10-15 minutes.
Davide was an excellent host, helping us arrange for baggage transportation from the ferry pier and providing directions so we could reach the house using the Positano Interno bus. He also guided us on our first trip to the nearby small grocery store " Non Solo Frutta Positano" which provided everything we needed for meals at home. It's 5 minutes' walk, 70 stairway steps up and down.
Summer In Italy provided good communication and service, and the best vacation rental that met our needs at a reasonable price.
Travel tips
- We recommend the Restaurant Da Costatino, a 10-minute walk up via Corvo. Very good Italian food at reasonable (for Positano) prices.

Stunning views
August 2019 - Take my advice and use the interior Positano bus and don't try to be a hero and walk up the stairs. It's hard. Once you get used to the bus system this apartment is in the perfect location. Close to some local bars and the view is stunning. The view from the private patio is why you get this place.

August 2019 - All the guests before us have already said how enjoyable is the house and its terrace, and how kind are Davide and his wife [the owners].
We will add that the house is located in a charming area with a church at the top. The location was perfect to reach the center by bus but also the second beach (Fornillo Beach), on foot in less than 20 minutes all the way down the stairs.

Gracious host. Thanks Davide!
Travel tips
- The busses in Positano did not seem to follow the printed schedule. So feel free to head to a bus stop whenever and be prepared to wait.
- We loved the smaller beach to the west of the main Positano beach. It was quieter. Pupetto beach. The beach bars will provide a boat shuttle or you can walk a short way from the main beach.

Amazing view of Positano!
June 2019 - Amazing view of Positano! We loved our stay here and would recommend.
Apartment is nice and spacious with all amenities and the balcony view is beautiful! Note there are a lot of stairs if you are planning to walk to the beach/town centre but there are buses available with bus stops very close to the apartment. To get to the apartment you also need to walk up stairs so pack lightly. We walked everywhere and loved our time here. :)

Lovely Apartment High Up In Positano
June 2019 - We had a wonderful stay in Davide and Titina's apartment. They were extremely gracious hosts and the apartment was very comfortable. Having a balcony to sit and enjoy the view was a plus, as well as for hanging laundry. We prepared a couple of meals and found the kitchen to be well-stocked with utensils. Thank you for a memorable stay in beautiful Positano.

An amazing stay
June 2019 - Our stay at Casa Danira was AMAZING!! There are a lot of stairs but honestly in Positano there aren't many places that do not have stairs.
Davide is an EXCELLENT host, explained all the ins/outs of the area and the place to us at length and even gave us a local history lesson and cooking lesson.
We had so much fun talking and drinking wine on the terrace as well as the space being very clean and the bed and pillows were by far the most comfortable we had during our Italy trip. Thank you Davide for an excellent time and for being such a gracious host!

Spacious, clean, and pretty!
June 2019 - This rental was excellent! It was spacious, clean, and pretty! The bedroom and bathroom felt like a large treat compared to some of the tiny places we have stayed in Europe! We highly recommend that you stay here.
The home is up in the town of Positano, but you are rewarded handsomely with peace and quiet, as well as a BEAUTIFUL view.
A bus does stop nearby (if you want to complete the circle of the Interno route - it moves in one circular direction) and can cut out some of the stairs, but as there are MANY areas of Positano you cannot get to without using the stairs (such as the BEACH!). To scale through the middle of town in discreet stairways is often worth the shortcuts.
Davide [the owner] maintains a beautiful property and an amazing garden, and is so kind. Everything was perfect, Davide. Thank you for making our first trip to Italy so enjoyable.
I enjoyed that Summer In Italy really knows the renters well and facilitates a meaningful transaction.
Travel tips
- We loved trekking down to Fornillo Beach in the mornings and reading/lazing in the sun until after lunch time.
- We also took the "Mobility Amalfi Coast" bus in the circular Interno Positano route to get to other enclaves of the town, such as the area near Piazza dei Mulini (next to Restaurant Max). You can buy bus tickets at the local tobacco shops/corner stores.
- The restaurant close to Casa Danira, Restaurant Grottino Azzurro, was so delicious and the servers were very helpful. We felt very welcome here and hope you do, too!

We loved it just the way it is
October 2018 - The location of Casa Danira was perfect for us, and the view from the balcony was exceptional. We loved it just the way it is.
However, what made our stay truly special was the warmth and generosity of the owner, Davide. He is a truly special human being who we now consider to be a a friend.
Summer In Italy were efficient, easy to work with and very thorough.
Travel tips
- Bar Internazionale is great for cornetto and cappuccino in the morning (you can also get your bus tickets there).
- A little further around the bend in the road is a great little grocery store with good deals on wine.
- As far as restaurants go, we enjoyed Restaurant La Tagliata in Montepertuso and Restaurant C'era una volta in Positano.

September 2018 - The best thing about Casa Danira is Davide [the owner]. He is warm and inviting, a very welcoming host! Davide makes the stay so wonderful, he is a joy to meet and spend time with. His stories are amazing.
Travel tips
- Great for people who want a quieter retreat. It's conveniently located near bus stops and restaurants, however it is at the very top of the hill so a bit far from the liveliness that is Positano.

It was an amazing 5 days in Positano and the location is unreal here
August 2018 - It was an amazing 5 days in Positano and the location is unreal here. We're next to a bar that sells pastries, sandwiches and drinks as well as one of the best restaurants we ate at the entire trip next door to us. The space is large, so you don't feel overly packed in and was nice to enjoy multiple rooms in the house.
It was a great experience, with seamless booking and directions to the place were very clear.
Travel tips
- Casa Danira is located in a great area - right by the bus stops to take into town and Amalfi, as well as nearby restaurants bars and hotels.
- The views are amazing, but with those views comes a lot of stairs - so be prepared to walk down and up at least 1,000 steps or more a day if visiting the area.
- We did the Path of the Gods tour, which was super convenient as the bus picks you up right outside our apartment to Amalfi and drops you right back where we started - it's an intense hike but so worth it.

July 2018 - Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Davide and Titina [the owners] were great hosts and very helpful. The 80 steep steps were a real challenge for us girls getting our luggage up and down. We needed help and although Davide is 83 he helped with some of the luggage!
Great thanks.
“Future guests, please note that if you ever wondered whether there is an alternative at carrying your luggage up the stairs of Positano, the answer is a definite yes. The Positano Porters are there just for that: they move baggage and other heavy loads to (and from!) villas and apartments in Positano, for a fee!„

We will never forget the amazing views
October 2017 - We stayed 11 nights in Casa Danira and enjoyed our home away from home in this incredibly beautiful town. We will never forget the amazing views, we spent so much time on the terrace. We cooked frequently, the kitchen was very functional. We would definitely return to Casa Danira.
Davide and Titina were exceptionally welcoming and generous hosts, we have never experienced this level of hospitality in self catering accommodation before.
Booking with Summer In Italy was so easy and they provided comprehensive information for travelling to the accommodation and much more plus any other information you may need.
Travel tips
- We would definitely recommend the Walk of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) from Bomerano to Nocelle, a 3-4 hour walk with amazing views, moderate level of difficulty and no difficulty at all following the path.
- There are minimarts close at hand.
- We had delicious meals in Restaurant Saraceno d'Oro and Restaurant La Pergola.
- You don't need a car, the bus system is very easy to use and frequent. You can also use the train (Circumvesuviana) from Sorrento for Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Herculaneum. Public transport is cheap and you meet lots of people and gain information and tips.
- Ravello is a beautiful town.

October 2016 - We absolutely loved Casa Danira. The view, the lovely decor, the comfort and especially Davide and his wife -- what lovely hosts.
As ever, Summer In Italy made all the booking process a simple experience. I cannot recommend them enough.
Travel tips
- You need to be able to negotiate the many steps up from the street to the house, but once there it's all worthwhile!
- There is a very good alimentare shop a short walk up to Bar Internazionale, everything can be bought there to make a meal, plus things like toilet tissue etc.
- Just across from Bar Internazionale there is a very useful tabacchi, you can buy your bus tickets here for the local bus up and down into Positano centrale and the SITA bus.
- There are so many good restaurants in Positano you will be spoilt for choice. The main thing that will guide you will be the capacity of your wallet!

The most amazing vacation we have ever taken!
April 2016 - Our trip to Positano for our anniversary was by far the most amazing vacation we have ever taken! This is due in no small part to the beautiful Casa Danira and the wonderful hospitality shown to us by its owners.
Owners are truly two of the kindest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Davide's extensive experience in the hospitality industry shows. His hosting skills are superb and his genuine kindness is without match. We absolutely loved our stay! Wouldn't change a thing. Keep up the great work!
I could go on and on about how wonderful this place and its owners are. If you are coming to Positano, don't pass up the chance to stay here.
I loved how prompt Summer In Italy were in communicating and the extremely helpful service. I only have positive things to say about Summer In Italy and will recommend you to anyone traveling in Italy!
Travel tips
- The bus stop is right at the bottom of the stairs to Casa Danira, so its location is perfect.
- Don't miss the little restaurant a few doors down! It's a local favorite and some of the best pizza we had in Italy! Davide will no doubt recommend it to you when you arrive.
- Also, make sure to stop by Bar Internazionale for a true taste of the local hang out and some authentic Italian pastry and cafe.

September 2015 - We had a fantastic time at Casa Danira. The house was very comfortable with fantastic views from the terrace. The location while well above the town is very close to bus stops for the local buses to nearby towns and the internal Positano bus. We would definitely like to return to Positano and stay here again.
Davide and his wife [the owners] were very welcoming and generous hosts.
Very impressive service from Summer In Italy, including helping us out when our car and driver were not there to meet us at Naples Airport.
Travel tips
- Please note there are many steps to the apartment and down to the town. They are easily manageable if you are reasonably fit.

Very good
July 2014 - Casa Danira was well kept and we loved it. The location was close to the bus stop and to the 3 small local markets which was perfect. The only issue for us was the amount of stairs to climb to get to the apartment.
I have high praise for Summer In Italy. You provided superior service and did the utmost to find us a holiday home. If we decide to go to Italy again we will definitely contact you again.
Travel tips
- If you have back/leg problems and Positano is a must then you have to search for something with less stairs to climb.
- We parked our car in a local garage (20 Euro per day) and used the local transportation, which can be trying at times, but was good idea since we did allot of walking.
- We walked the Path of the Gods from Agerola to Positano and also down to Praiano. We also walked from Ravello to Amalfi. All beautiful paths, highly recommended.
