Very good
May 2013 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Bonaventura F very much; very central to all the attractions, the villa was spacious and very relaxing.
The manager was very healthful and the Wednesday night music treat was fantastic.
In easy walk to a lovely Italian restaurant just up the road. Did not try the swimming pool as it was still too cold but it looked inviting.
Very happy with the service we received from your office.
Travel tips
- One tip: no public transport to get you to the attractions, you will need your own transport.

Our family had a fantastic eight weeks in the middle of Tuscany.
Of all The websites we visited before deciding where to travel, yours was the most convincing and gave us the information we needed. Your follow-up after the booking was fantastic. All our questions where answered.
Travel tips
- You will find everything you need in Montaione.
- The zoo in Pistoia is 70 minutes away, well worth a visit.
- In Livorno you find a great aquarium.

August 2011 - We absolutely totally enjoyed our stay.
Our hosts were extremely accommodating and made us feel at home... loved picking fresh veggies from the garden everyday and cooking up easy healthy meals with their exquisite virgin olive oil made on the premises... They were extremely helpful in getting taxis and providing bus and train service times for our trip to Siena.
Travel tips
- We did not have a car which made traveling from here a bit difficult, but we knew this ahead of time.
- Walking to town is uphill without sidewalks on a busy road.
- Grocery store was very nearby and convenient.
- We did a day-trip into lovely Siena... took about 2 hours to get there and we had plenty of time there... loved this quaint town.
- Mostly we just relaxed and enjoyed each other.

June 2011 - We rented Casa Bonaventura F for a family trip of two adults and three children (10-18 years old). The villa was a perfect place for us. The farm grounds were beautiful, the pool was a welcome relief on hot days and the owners were great.
We rented in Montaione without much knowledge of the town. It turned out to be a terrific location for exploring a large part of Tuscany. It is within 80 minutes of Florence, Pisa, Lucca, and Siena. In addition there were a number of beautiful, smaller medieval hill towns surrounding Montaione.
Montaione itself was a beautiful small town high above the surrounding region. The downtown area has a charming medieval section and all the services that one could need. There were at least three exceptional restaurants in the larger township and another 6-8 that were quite good. In addition, there was a supermarket close by that allowed us to stretch our dollars by making breakfast and picnic lunches for our daily trips at home.
Travel tips
- Casa Masi - great and elegant farm house dining. Like a movie set. Not cheap but worth it...
- Osteria Ristorante San Vivaldo - roadhouse type atmosphere. Excellent Tuscan food and an owner that will leave you smiling.
- Osteria del Pesco Rosso - Wonderful small fish restaurant in the medieval part of the old town. Charming, local and a wonderful meal.
- Two small towns worth visiting: Volterra (similar to San Gimignano but less over-run by tourists) and Vinci (the tiny mountain town where Leonardo da Vinci was born).
- Take the train to Florence instead of driving. The owner will guide you on this.

April 2010 - Our stay at Casa Bonaventura F was quiet and peaceful, lots of birds singing in the trees and bushes.
Owner was helpful when we had questions or needed something fixed, spoke quite good English.
Wood was provided for a fire. Laundry facility was not the best, but we did get clothes washed and hung out on individual rack provided for each villa.
Wine and olive oil are produced on the grounds, for sale.
Appreciate how well Summer In Italy kept us informed, answering questions, and the emails you sent on what to expect when traveling in Italy.
Travel tips
- Only a short drive to 2 grocery stores.
- Need a car.
- Took day trips to Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Castelfiorentino and Cinque Terre (by train from La Spezia).
- Beautiful scenery in the countryside.

June 2007 - Casa Bonaventura F was wonderful - we thought it would be good, but it exceeded our expectations!
The furnishings are simple but comfortable. The upstairs bedroom is very spacious and the bathroom is modern with high-end fixtures.
The landscaping is beautiful and everything is well maintained.
Summer in Italy was wonderful to deal with. The staff is very friendly, cooperative, and helpful.
Travel tips
- There's a great ristorante/pizzeria as well as a small supermarket virtually across the street. The ristorante, which features excellent food at reasonable prices, is frequented by locals so you know it's good.
- Finding you way from Rome is not easy as the street signs leave a lot to be desired. Signs for Montaione are few and are far between. Keep the owner's phone number handy and call to help find your way.

September 2006 - We had a great holiday at Casa Bonaventura F. The children's pool, swings, bath in the bathroom and private garden made the place about as child friendly as possible, although it was situated right next to the entrance gate so there were quite a few cars coming and going which meant we couldn't leave our toddler to play alone outside. There was also some traffic noise from the road outside which is fairly busy.
The location is great - close to San Gimignano and within easy reach of all the main cities and Montaione is only a couple of minutes drive away.
The owners were really helpful and friendly and the complimentary bottles of wine when we arrived were delicious and went down really well!
A real bonus was being able to pick our own produce from the vegetable garden - I wish tomatoes tasted like that in England!!
Booking with Summer in Italy was really easy. The service is fantastic - really friendly. Knowing we had additional back up from English speaking people if we needed it was very reassuring (especially as this was our first holiday as a family with child!) and we really appreciated having someone to help arrange things like the travel cot for the baby. We would definitely use Summer in Italy again.

April 2006 - We really enjoyed Casa Bonaventura F and the excellent layout of the space.
The garden area was vast and great for kids. Pool facility was excellent and we were surprised to find it open at Easter (but it was cold).
The beds were especially comfortable (didn't try the sofabed though for sleeping).
Kitchen had everything one needed and was a good standard for a holiday villa.
We were closer to the road than we thought we would be which might be a consideration for families with small, curious children.
We were extremely impressed with your website and service. We will definitely use you again next year as we love Italy and are already discussing our holiday next year.
