Lovely place
September 2020 - A lovely apartment with fantastic terrace providing views both up the valley towards Ravello and down to the town and beach at Atrani. Very private with no-one overlooking. The accommodation is basic but has everything a couple requires for an enjoyable stay.
The swimming pool is just a few steps away and would be perfect for swimming and soaking up the sun. Unfortunately this season the pool was not open so we had to make more use of the beach at Atrani.
Travel tips
- Atrani has a lovely beach and plenty of restaurants/ bars/ coffee shops to give you good choice. It’s 430 steps down through a fascinating series of passageways and stairways through the houses. It’s also 430 steps back up - so be prepared to get a little breathless or simply take your time to enjoy the journey and views.
- Enjoy the piazza and beach at Atrani. There is an attractive simplicity and it’s quieter than other towns along the coast. Within a day or two you will be well acquainted with the welcoming characters at the local bars, shops, pizzeria, etc.
- Best supermarkets for supplies are up at the DeSpar at the top of Via Valle del Dragone or Big Apple in Amalfi.
- Amalfi is a short walk from Atrani - via Tunnel Pedonale Amalfi or Via Nubia Santa Marie delle Signore - where there are plenty of shops and more restaurants, bars, etc.
- The villas and gardens in Ravello are lovely to visit. You can either drive and park, catch a bus or, for the adventurous and energetic, take Via S. Nicola east out of Atrani then Via Castiglione, Via Petrito and Via San Cosma to enjoy the lemon groves and glorious views en route.
- If driving, be warned that the turning at the gate onto the driveway is very sharp left if approaching uphill - it’s a lot easier/ safer to approach the gate downhill.

September 2012 - Apartment Violetta was a perfect accommodation for my family - couple in our 30s plus young baby. It is comfortable, clean and the terrace is absolutely amazing.
The service on location as well as the care provided by Summer In Italy was outstanding and truly made our vacation as relaxed as possible with a new baby. Thank you!

July 2012 - We enjoyed Apartment Violetta very much.
It is a beautiful place with beautiful gardens. We found it to be one of the best locations on the Amalfi coast and the pool and terraces are wonderfully relaxing.
Thank you service was very good, the documentation you sent for the booking was great - also sending emails before trip to keep us updated was appreciated - very positive will use you again.
Travel tips
- It is difficult to drive to (like everywhere on the Amalfi coast) - and a small car would be recommended.
- Walking up the hill from Amalfi town is not suitable for old or infirm people.
- At night there is a lot of farm related noise - cockerels, turkeys, bells.
- Would recommend you shop for groceries etc before you get there as there is very little locally.
- Taxis from Amalfi are very dear.

May 2011 - We really enjoyed Apartment Violetta.
The views were fantastic and being in Atrani away from the hustle and bustle of the busier towns (Amalfi, Positano) was really nice. The views up The Valley Of The Dragon and out over the town and sea were stunning.
What we enjoyed the most was the friendliness of all the townpeople, shop owners and bar/restaurant owners in Atrani.
Great job, keep it up. We will use your company again.
Travel tips
- There really are 300 steps into town, bring comfortable shoes and water for the walk!
- Learn Italian, owner & PM do not speak English (no issues just a heads up [you can also call us folks at Summer In Italy and ask us to relay any piece of information, should the need ever arise])

September 2009 - We loved it !! The only negative was the 400 steps down to the village (or take the bus)... puh... but we got "a workout" every day.
Thanks for everything,
we will come back to summer in italy.

July 2008 - Lovely place, we had a great time. In fact, for us, it was like a dream place.
Very friendly staff, always helpful.
Travel tips
- Renting a car was a mistake, no need to do so. We used boats and local transport most of the time, and walked a lot.
- Don't go to the supermarket, it is much nicer to get your shopping from small local shops in Atrani, especially for fruits and vegetables
- If you come by car do not recommend to take costiera Amalfitana road, it takes time to learn to drive safely without the stress when you first arrive there.

May 2008 - Apartment Violetta is perfect for two people.
It has all the furniture that is required and the facilities were impeccably clean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I had been recommended to use Summer in Italy, as my family have used your service before. I was very happy with the service. Communication with SII was very easy and there was always prompt response.
Travel tips
- There is a lot of stairs into the town of Atrani. For people with mobility problems a car would be a necessity.
- The town square in Atrani comes alive after 5 pm and it is fasinating watching the locals interact, children play etc. We also enjoyed having a drink before heading for dinner at one of the many pizzeria/ristorantes.

June 2007 - It is a beautiful place, perfect location. Apartment Violetta is comfortable with a fabulous terrace, we could not believe it was just for our use.
If there are only two of you we feel that this unit absolutely has the best terrace and view.
Travel tips
- The walk up to Ravello is a great, and going to Villa Cimbrone is an absolute must!
- If you are arriving via train in Salerno things can be a bit confusing, especially if you only speak English. As you exit your train and walk down the steps to exit the station you need to purchase a bus ticket to Amalfi. At the bottom of the steps, look to your right, the only store there is where you purchase your ticket, ask whoever is working behind counter, billet to Amalfi, and what time (can be quite a wait). When you arrive in Amalfi, bus driver can tell you where to buy bus ticket to Ravello, there are two white tents in the same area where you will wait for your bus, bus will say Ravello.

April 2006 - I booked Apartment Violetta as a surprise holiday for my boyfriend. I was looking for something with wow factor and Apartment Violetta certainly had it.
On our arrival to Apartment Violetta my boyfriend stood on the terrace absolutely speechless at the natural beauty of the surroundings... lemon groves, stunning sea view over the pretty village of Atrani and the sound of gushing water from the valley. Breathtakingly beautiful.
The accommodation fairly basic but very clean with a well stocked kitchen. The terrace and view is it's selling point. Amazing. Highly recommend it.
