The lovely small Lake Annone has the appearance of two separate lakes, but the long peninsula that seems to separate them does have a narrow opening. The lake is one of the less-known in the Lombardy area, but offers some nice recreational facilities.

You can take a walk all the way around the lake, stopping for a picnic or a nice lunch at one of the restaurants right on the shore. There is a cycle and walking path that completely encircles Lago di Annone, with some other tracts where you can veer off the paved path onto less-trod natural trails. Those are signposted as "Sentiero a Lago" while the main path is called "Ciclopedonale".

The easiest place to start your walk is at the Sports Club and Restaurant Stendhal in Oggiono. Located right at the lake shore, you can easily park and find the trail to set off. The path is a 15 kilometer circuit, though you can add on a couple of extra kilometers if you want to walk out to the point of the peninsula. You'll want to plan for about five hours of walking.

Other starting points can be reached simply by following the street signs indicating "Ciclopedonale".
