The Capri Funicular

The fastest way to arrive in the town of Capri from the port is the funicular railway. Borrowing from the popularity of the hillside trams that are widely used in Naples, the Capri funicular is located right in front of the Marina Grande.

The inclined ride takes you past lovely terraced gardens and lemon groves, giving you a flowery welcome to the island. It arrives just a couple steps off the famous Piazzetta. It's a fun and scenic five minutes!

Tickets are not at the funicular itself. You can buy them at the kiosk behind the visitor information office. Look for the sign that says "biglietteria". Don't be surprised if you don't find a seat; it's usually standing room only.
