Spiaggia della Grotta

In San Marco Castellabate near the porto,this free beach is the closest to town and popular with the local sun seekers. It has a sandy arch of beach backed by a rock wall, the water is clear and gets deep fairly quickly, but still has enough shallow depth for kids (but keep your eyes on them!) There are no services provided at the beach itself, so bring your own umbrella and chairs (or beach blanket), otherwise shade can be found in the shadow of the rock wall behind (depending on time of day.) There are cafes and bars nearby for refreshments.

To reach the Spiaggia della Grotta, go along the port to the right, past the wooden bar Chalet del Mare and past the coast guard and you'll come out at the beach. There is also access from Via Luigi Marinelli.
