San Niccolo Church

The charming church of San Niccolo is in the high part of Cortona. Outlined by tall cypress trees, the simple Romanesque structure is a peaceful place, and a must for art lovers who will swoon for the Signorelli frescoes. The coffered wood ceiling is also painted with panels. The pretty porch makes the church look inviting. It isn't a monumental church filled with treasures, but the paintings it has and its position make it a lovely place to visit.
