San Lorenzo Beach

To the north of Vieste beyond the longer beach is a cove on a bay that offers one of the best swimming spots in the area. The beach known as San Lorenzo is tucked below a green scrub-covered hill with a pathway from the road to reach it easily. The beach is sandy with rocks and reefs extending off on the ends of the bay. The water is shallow and deepens gradually, making it great for families with kids, but also good for those who like to swim and play watersports in deeper water.

There are areas of free beach, and a concession stand that rents umbrellas and chairs. There is a restaurant and bar, showers, and a kids' play area. It's a lovely spot, with a old country church up on the hill, a trabocco fishing platform at the end of the bay point, and a glimpse of the city's lighthouse from the water.
