Ristorante La Loggetta

One of Cortona's most recognizable restaurants is La Loggetta as it has a lovely loggia overlooking the piazza. A fabulous place for a meal under the Tuscan sun (yes, a tired pun!) or the stars with the clatter of life in the piazza below. Dishes are focused on regional specialties, hearty pastas, and delicious desserts. Offerings change with the seasons, but some of the top plates include pici pasta with duck sauce, gnocchi with squash puree, filet mignon with truffles, and Tuscan ribollita soup. The interior is lovey, housed in the former cantina (wine cellar) of a palazzo dating to the 1200s. Outside dining is a highlight if you book a table under the loggia. It is an intimate romantic spot. Great wine selection, as well.
