Ristorante A Castellana

Located in the old granary of the Castello di Caccamo, this is an Old World kind of place with delicious local fare. It has a strong local following and been designated as one of the "Osterias of Italy" by Slow Food. It's a good choice for when you get tired of seafood, as they focus on locally raised meats and vegetables.

Located a short distance from Palermo, it's in the hills and a different world than the big city. The recipes are heritage ones with dishes like Nana made. There are vegetarian options, too.
