Rimigliano Beach

This pristine beach is part of the Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan Coast), a seafront paradise left in its natural state. The 3 1/2 mile stretch is part of a nature preserve, with no development to impede the dunes and surf. You won't find the usual army of umbrellas lined up on the sand, and no rows of shops, or hotels or beach-front restaurants, either...you're more likely to find shells and driftwood. The unspoiled nature lets you appreciate the clear water and soft sand all the more. Bring a picnic and enjoy the peace and sun!

There are ten access points to the Parco di Rimigliano where you can reach the beach from the main road, the SP 23 (also called the Via Principessa). There are designated picnic areas in the woods, along with toilets and coin-operated showers. There are services strategically scattered throughout the different park areas, like bars, a restaurant, and a pizzeria. One of the access points has a handicap-accessible trail. (Be aware: At access point #9 the term "naturist beach" doesn't refer to the nature preserve, but to the nudist beach that is present there!)

This part of the Tuscan coast is a lovely, undeveloped spot for those who want to enjoy the sea without the glitz or distraction of other built-up areas.
