Restaurant Trattoria La Pallotta

Located right off the main piazza in Assisi, Trattoria La Pallotta offers good Umbrian fare at fair prices. In the piazza, it's right across from the ancient Temple of Minerva. Enter under the painted archway with frescoes dating back to the 1600s.

The restaurant has homey, country-style dining rooms with stone, brick and wood accents. The pleasant atmosphere blends with attentive service. Visit the underground cantina, the stone chambers where the wine is stored.

Specialties include strangozzi, the local variety of pasta, with mushroom and black olive pesto, along with grilled meats. Local salami and cheese highlight the antipasti plates.
