Along a paved path, the coves of Punta San Nicola are interspersed with sandy parts, reefs, and rocks. Located behind the cemetery outside of town at the point, it has both archeological interest and lovely clear water, so is worth the jaunt to get there. The low caves behind the beach bear ancient symbols from paleolithic times, and shallow pools in the reef may have been used by the Romans as fish breeding pools or perhaps, it is theorized, for garum production.

Water is shallow and protected, so folks with little ones like this area, but you can get out from shore where it deepens if you like to swim and snorkel, and the reefs provide some interest for those who do snorkel. A small concession rents chairs and umbrellas, or bring your own gear for a free day at the beach.
