Departing from the edge of Ascea's south-end beach, this trail takes you up to splendid heights for sweeping panoramas. It is just two kilometers long but with a signficant climb so expect to take about two hours. The trail departs from the parking and beach known as La Scogliera. It climbs with the aid of stairs to the Torre del Telegrafo, a medieval coastal watch tower up on the promontory. Along the way, it leads you through macchia, typical Mediterranean foliage, and opens up to views that let you see to the Capo Palinuro and the point near Pioppi at the north end of the bay. Take water with you!

The trail is part of the Parco del Cilento and connects with the long lungomare path that skirts the coast, from La Scogliera up to Pioppi. There are also intersecting inland trails to the ancient ruins at Velia. Visit the park office or visitor information point for maps and more detailed information.
