In the piazza of the Madonna in Loreto, a pilgrimage site, the Palazzo Apostolico houses a fine collection of art and antiquities. The palace was designed by Bramante in 1507. The first floor and "noble" floor were used as a residence for the governors, cardinals and visiting dignitaries - the guests and princes who came in pilgrimage to the "house holy". The palace displays Renaissance symmetry with its arches and loggia fronting the piazza.

Inside, the museum comprises 30 rooms of displays that include 16th and 17th cenutry furnishings, tapestries, decorated ceramics, altar pieces and nativity figurines. The collection of paintings include masterpieces by Lorenzo Lotto, Cesare Maccari, Pomarancio, and others. There is also a section of contemporary art.

The Museum of the Palazzo Apostolico in Loreto is open from 10:00 AM til 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM til 6:00 PM. Summer hours are extended. Cost is €4.
