Osteria del Giuanin

Located above the lake with gorgeous views, Osteria del Giuanin is a great choice, for both the panorama and the palette. It's a favorite for locals who like the honest food and is just off the track, uphill from the lake.

Reserve in advance for a table on the terrace with a view, and you won't be disppointed. The house specialties are takes on regional favorites with some whimsy thrown in for fun. One of the popular dishes is the fun fondue pot, either broth or cheese, that brings people together around the cooker in good humour to dunk in the communal pot. (Reserve it in advance.) Regional favorites like pizzoccheri pasta from farro in Valtellina style (the mountains beyond the lake), with a sauce of savoy cabbage, potatoes and local cheese. Or risotto with fresh lake perch. Northern dishes like polenta and gnocchi are offered, and of course lake fish is abunndant, too.
