Music in Castles Emilia Romagna

It's only natural that the region of Emilia Romagna, rich in castles and the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, would combine the two for an annual musical event. Musica in Castello takes place throughout the summer months in various castles, villas, convents, palaces and piazzas around Emilia Romagna. Paying homage to chamber music as well as the stunning architecture of the area, this is a great opportunity to visit an historic building and hear excellent music - and best of all, it's free!

The program of events is available on the Musica in Castello website. The show will go on even in bad weather, moving the venue indoors if necessary. The gardens, courtyards and lawns of these noble buildings are the usual venues, though some may take place inside the grand salons.
