Part-way between Lake Garda and Brescia is the modern town of Ciliverghe which holds a treasure-trove of museums. The complex is located in the historic Villa Mazzucchelli, built in 1722 in Palladian style, surrounded by fields and gardens.

MUSEO DEL VINO E DEL CAVATAPPI. THE WINE AND CORKSCREW MUSEUM. The world's largest and most eclectic collection of corkscrews (more than 2000 of them!) along with displays and equipment related to wine making, with historic pieces and modern techniques. Exhibits cover the cultivation, process, harvest and bottling of wine.

MUSEO DELLA MODA E DEL COSTUME. THE MUSEUM OF FASHION AND COSTUME. More than 5,000 pieces covering the world of style and fashion, with designs dating back to the mid-1700s up until the modern era to see how designs have changed, evolved and sometimes stayed the same.

PINACOTECA MAZZUCCHELLI. THE ART GALLERY. An impressive collection of art amassed by the noble family which includes Renaissance, Lombard and Venetian paintings. Masters like Tintoretto, Capaccio and Titian are represented.

CASA MUSEO. THE VILLA MUSEUM. The grand home is itself a museum that transports you back to the 1800s era with its furnishings and collectibles on display, with everything as it would have been in that by-gone age. (Note that the Casa Museo is open by appointment, though individuals can tour it on Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 PM with the addition of €1 to the ticket price.)

One ticket covers all four museums. The museums are open daily from 10:00 AM til 6:00 PM.
