Meta Lido Beaches

Meta di Sorrento is four kilometers from the city of Sorrento, below the cliffs and with some nice beaches to enjoy. There are two areas - Meta Mare and Marina di Alimuri.

Meta Mare is the wider expanse of sandy beach divided down the center by colorful cabins, the entire beach covered in a rainbow of umbrellas. The one side looks at the cliffs. The sandy beach is protected by a breakwall, with intensely blue water that deepens gradually, making it nice for families with small children. You'll find several different concessions that rent the umbrellas and chairs, as well as the changing cabins if you'd like to use one, for a daily fee. The best known is Lido Marinella, which has been here since 1959, and offers not just umbrellas and sun beds but also showers, a restaurant, a snack bar, full service bar, children's games, kayak rental and more. They even include beach-side service, bringing you drinks and more to you as you relax under your umbrella!

On the other side of the tunnel at Meta di Sorrento is the area known as Marina di Alimuri. Here you'll find pebble beach under the cliffs, turquoise water that is more open to the bay, and a line-up of restaurants. It's especially lovely at sunset! There are several concessions that rent umbrellas and offer services, such as Golden Beach.
