Near Diso and Castro, the beaches of Marina di Marittima are some of the "wildest" of Puglia. The jagged coast is a beautiful tract of seafront with reefs and inlets that are hidden behind rocks and vegetation. There are simple signs on the road indicating "public access" to the sea, with stairs or paths that lead to the water. You'll see cars parked on the SP 358 road as a giveaway to these access paths. A few of the more intriguing beach areas:

Chianca Liscia - set on smooth rocks (which gives it the name) there is a staircase down to reach the beach. The water here is intensely blue-green and clear, the smooth rock gives you a place to lay down, and it's surrounded by juniper and macchia. The sides of the cove are more jagged and pocked rocks.

Porticelli - Set down off the road the rocky coast provides beautiful views and clean water. Here you'll find a lido establishment with umbrellas and sun beds, a restaurant and bar to provide services and a more comfortable lounging area than the rocks.

Acquaviva -probably the most gorgeous swimming spot on the part of the coast, it is like a fjord inlet with steps to reach it, dock-type areas to lounge, and inviting turquoise water. The multicolored stones below the water's surface are like gems and keep the sea clear. There are also bubbling springs that feed fizzy fresh water into the sea here. An enchanting spot.
