Lovere Village

Named one of Italy's most beautiful villages, you'll fall in love with Lovere at first sight!. Located along the shore of alpine Lake Iseo in the Lombardy region, the village is a pastel-painted gem with pretty streets and beautiful views. It retains its medieval air but has a cheerful air and lovely setting. Several old towers rise over the buildings to give it a distinct skyline.

The center of town is Piazza XIII Martiri, a charming space that mimics some of the squares you'd find in Venice or Padova, a great place to enjoy a cappuccino or a glass of wine. This is the heart of Franciacorta country, so order a glass of the local bubbly and watch the activity of the town in this piazza. Lovere boasts a number of palazzi and churches, showing it enjoyed centuries of affluence when it was under the domain of the Republic of Venice. Palazzo Gregorini, for example, was built in the 1500s and has a portico and loggia, reminiscent of its big sister's style of architecture. Palazzo Tadini, on the other hand, is a "recent" construction, built in 1821 by Luigi Tadini specifically to house his art collection. He had his nephew, architect Sebastiano Salimbeni, design the neoclassic villa. The benefactor amassed an impressive collection of works, mainly during the Napleon suppression of churches and monasteries, as well as buying pieces from regional families who had fallen on hard times. Today you can enjoy the art on display, more than 100 works, at the museum housed in the Palazzo Tadini.

There is a large swimming pool complex to enjoy, with indoor and outdoor pools, slides, and games.

Lovere's charm is in its atmosphere - a pretty place to enjoy a stroll, soak in the mountain air, walk along the lakefront promenade, sip a drink on the beach, or take a boat ride on the placid water. Lovere is on the northwest corner of little Lake Iseo, in Lombardy region. Lake Iseo is located between Lake Como (to the west) and Lake Garda (to the east).
