Lago Fusaro is a small lake near Naples, closed off from the sea by just a sliver of land. The little lago is located at Bacoli. It is of volcanic origin, and during the Roman era was surrounded by villas and thermal spas.

King Ferdinand IV of the Bourbon dynasty built a charming hunting and fishing lodge here, called Casina Vanvitelliana. It was designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, who also designed the great palace of Caserta. The lovely villa is a seamless blend of Neoclassic and late (but severe) Baroque elements. Now it is connected to land by a wooden bridge and is a popular spot for couples to pose for wedding photos, but originally was reachable only by row boats. The Casina Vanvitelliana is open for visits on Sundays from 10:00 AM til 1:00 PM.
