La Locanda del Vino Nobile Restaurant

In the hamlet of Sant'Albino in the wine country hills south of Montepulciano, the restaurant La Locanda del Vino Nobile serves classic Tuscan fare with a few novelty twists added to some dishes. There are the classics that you find throughout Tuscany - crostini with pate, typical salamis as starters; fat pici pasta with sausage or garlic sauce, but also fresh-made tagliatelle strands infused with wine and served with a duck sauce, or cappellacci (like big tortellini) filled with lemon and ricotta and topped with zucchini sauce. Mains are mostly meat, as is the custom in Tuscany, some beef, some game. All served of course with the area's vino nobile or other local vintages.
