La Bottega di Volpaia Restaurant

If you're looking for a quintessential Tuscan meal with a view, then the Bottega di Volpaia will send you home happy. The place has a terrace with tables overlooking those glorious Chianti hills (and some inside the rustic-farmhouse setting if the weather is cold or rainy). Family run, with produce from their own garden, the focus is on good, seasonal, local products. The wine cellar has local vintages, of course, but also some from outside the area.

The handmade pastas will make you swoon. Think traditional Tuscan things like pappardelle, ravioli, hearty ribollita, plump pici strands. The main courses may include bean dishes, rabbit, boar, beef and/or duck. The menu changes with the seasons and what is locally available.
