Herculaneum By Night- La Notte di Plinio

You can spend an evening visiting the incredible archeology site of Herculaneum with a virtual reality show that lets you go back in time to the hours before the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 BC. The imaginative guided tour-theatrical production blends virtual reality, light displays, theatrics and archeology for one unforgettable experience.

The Notte di Plinio (Night of Pliny) plays out the drama of the last hours of Herculaneaum just before the explosive eruption and culminates in the ancient theater with an impassioned monologue by Pliny the Younger with music, lights and drama. The tour also lets you visit the Terme Suburbane, which is normally closed to the public.
These evening appointments run from early July through mid-September and admit four groups of 30 people each.
